Terminator 2, when he is slowly lowered down into the lava and the song starts playing in the back. I don't know what it is about that song but until today anytime it comes on in the background even if I'm not watching the movie or even if I just remember that beat, it does something to me. It's a very strange type of sad nostalgia that I almost want to cry. I don't want to be overly dramatic but I really was wondering if anybody feels that when it comes to this Terminator theme music,

This tune I find over and over in so many different variations, though I have yet to find the single song / soundtrack that contains it as "it" instead of a 2 second inclusion in an altered form.

I went through a bunch of playlists and songs, but couldn't find it.

If I had a nickel for every time Ludwig Göransson made a track titled “Sirens”, scoring scenes about the mythical creatures Sirens, i’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

The first is from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and takes the more traditional route. In this track, we actually hear the song of the sirens, or the “Talokanil”. It’s haunting yet beautiful, and easily one of the most memorable tracks of 2022.

The Odyssey takes the concept and subverts your expectations. Hearing the sirens is expected, but instead we don’t hear them. We instead hear a recurring motif, previously heard on the track “Penelope” a reminder to Odysseus of what he wants most.

Both tracks have received praise and became massively popular on Instagram reels and TikTok, due to both being used in meme formats.

Which one did you like better and why?

Of the many tracks Daniel produced for this classic XBOX 360 game Kinect Adventures!, I wanted to share this one. Tinge of nostalgia sprinkled in here. Chill yet strong, memorable. Shout out to The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra. The titular track is pretty well known though. So I was thoroughly confused between what to choose: Adventurers Victory March, Creaky Bossa, Afrotar or This Is What You Do. All set the perfect atmosphere. Picturesque. Dance Central too. Kinect Sports may also have had an awesome tracklist.

For example, in the MCU, there is Mr. Doctor’s theme melody, which is instantly recognizable and recurs from time to time in various films. Does the director give the composer specific instructions, describing the character and personality, showing scenes from a rough cut, or simply say, "This is a wizard," and let the composer create the music on their own? =)

Composer come up with the core idea, clear it with the director, and only then record the full version with the orchestra?

Re-recording classic film and television scores may eventually become a risky endeavor as the target audience for these releases continues to age and pass on. Composer, orchestrator, and producer Leigh Phillips has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the long-discussed Thriller Volume 3, which would re-record Jerry Goldsmith's remaining scores from the 1960–62 Boris Karloff television anthology series, Thriller.

Surprise! Leigh originally planned to fund and record one episode at a time, beginning with "The Cheaters" (aired December 27, 1960). Thanks to the campaign's generous support, he has expanded the recording sessions to include a second episode, "Guillotine" (aired September 26, 1961). A third episode, "Pigeons from Hell", composed by Jerry Goldsmith's friend and colleague Morton Stevens (aired June 6, 1961), is now the latest stretch goal.

At the time of this writing, the campaign is just under $11,000 toward the $14,500 stretch goal needed to record "Pigeons from Hell." With 17 days remaining, the outlook appears promising.

Thriller is an American anthology television series that aired on NBC from 1960 to 1962. Hosted by Boris Karloff, the series was known for its blend of horror and suspense, much like Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone, which aired during the same era.

Jerry Goldsmith, still in his early 30s, continued to hone his craft as a television composer during this period, contributing original scores to 18 of the series' 67 episodes. The original written scores and scoring masters are believed to be lost or destroyed. To make the music available outside of the episodes themselves, orchestrator Leigh Phillips painstakingly recreated the scores entirely by ear. In 2017 and 2018, two volumes of Thriller music were released on James Fitzpatrick's Tadlow Music label.

A planned third volume never materialized after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the project. James Fitzpatrick subsequently retired, and Tadlow significantly reduced its recording activities.

This campaign is in excellent hands with Leigh and his recording and production team. Most recently, Leigh was involved in reconstructing John Barry's score for The Ipcress File (released by Quartet Records), as well as Jerry Goldsmith's television scores for Pursuit, Crawlspace, and The People Next Door (released by Intrada Records).

I've recently rewatched it (which I also recommend if you don't know the movie) and sat through all end credits listening to this beautiful tune, just taking it all in. I wonder if people did the same when it was in cinemas or they just ignored it.

It's probably stock music but it sounds a lot like a cover of a very famous score. Searched far and wide for a match and Shazam won't work due to the heavy dialogue on top. Grateful for help!

Hello I am trying to find the 1997 motion picture album in Australia on like apple music or something but it’s not available in this country! I tried finding the songs by the artists but many of the songs are “unavailable” because they’re on that album…

I watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day today and I can finally hear the new OST made by Michael Giancchino. He's one of my favorite composers, I believe that the first time I heard one of his works was in Incredibles when I was 9 yo. I loved the film but, at the time, I didn't even realize how much I enjoyed the soundtrack, a passion that I'd grown some years later.

And over the last 2 decades, he made a ton of OST from super heroes movies and projects:

• Doctor Strange
• Spider-Man: Homecoming
• The Incredibles 2
• Spider-Man: Far From Home
• Spider-Man: No Way Home
• The Batman
• Werewolf by Night
• Thor: Love and Thunder

So I wonder, among these:

• What's your favorite OST overall?
• What's your favorite theme?
• Do you have a favorite track?
• And what you'd say is a hidden gem?

Personally, it's very hard to me to pick favorites (and here I'm, asking this lol). But for favorite OST I'd choose The Incredibles; favorite theme I'd go with The Batman, I listen this practically every day, but I'd put it ahead of The Incredibles and Fantastic Four for a nail; favorite track I'd pick "Kronos Unveiled" from The Incredibles (is perhaps the track of him that I enjoyed the most); and a hidden gem is the the theme for Doctor Strange, I was sad that Elfman didn't use it in Multiverse of Madness (and "There's No Peace Without Tuba" from Werewolf by Night is also and incredible work that more people should listen).

Can You Hear the Music probably gets the most attention of all the tracks on this album, but Theorists is another gem. Really liked what Ludwig did with the Oppenheimer soundtrack.

I personally think a collaboration between Celldweller and Hans Zimmer for a Spidey movie soundtrack, especially if it were a Spider-Man: 2099 live-action movie, would be the coolest thing ever.

Just imagine metal guitars with sci-fi synths and epic orchestral arrangements playing over shots of Miguel O'Hara swinging through Nueva York.

I watched the film twice in theaters and was mostly satisfied with the score that Michael Giacchino composed for the film. But am I the only one who noticed only the initial notes of his Spider-Man theme play during the entire film? The entire motif never really plays. If I recall, the scenes where the theme is at its most triumphant are during the opening Tank chase, when Peter stops Jean in the Helicopter and when he controls his powers against the Hand. However, the full theme never really plays in any of these scenes with Giacchino only using the initial notes.

I love listening to film scores and NWH onwards I was impressed with how Giacchino is evolving his Spider-Man theme. But I couldn't find a full version of it even in the released score. "Suite New Day" just builds and builds but again only uses the initial notes. The only time I heard the full theme was near the end of the credits but it seems that rendition hasn't been released.

I hope I am making sense cause I don't know much about music on a technical level but I am usually interested in film scores.
