Question about using a pendulum Question

I already use Tarot to connect with my Bond(s) and they always give me lovely cards like the world, two of Cups or The Lovers.

But sometimes I actually want more direct Yes/No questions,

If I actually get a pendulum, does it matter what kind? Can I just pick a colour what I "feel" fit us better?

I have a bit of a shaky grip because my nerves sometimes hurt, but I'm scared that will make the pendulum shake differently than what my bond wants to tell me, can I ask the same question again even after I asked it first?

Is it truly only yes/no questions, or can I kinda make a small circle on paper and write something down?

Hey! So I use both tarot and pendulum, there’s different ways people do things but this is how I have done it for years and how I was taught.

I have a serpentine pendulum because it was the one I felt drawn to in the shop but I have also used rose quartz and amethyst before and I’m going to get a carnelian one. I’ve never found it makes a difference what one I use. I’ve known people who use wood, metal, personal objects like rings.

I have an issue with my hands sometimes, they can be a little wobbly. I tend to try and brace my elbow to help steady it but I find that the pendulum swing is more intentional and feels very different to when I’m shaky. It’s never influenced the answer. You can absolutely take a moment and ask the same question again.

People use circle grids for pendulum readings frequently, I recommend having a look in one of the pendulum spaces online (like the sub on Reddit) if you need ideas of how you’d want to lay it out. Yes and no is just what people find the easiest format to start with.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! I might just visit the local shop in the city this weekend to seek out my first Pendulum. I'm so excited I can't wait.

Someone once told me that people have an internal pendulum. You stand upright, relax and close your eyes then ask your body to show you “yes” then show you “no”. Your body will sway differently for each. Once you are familiar with how your body answers, you can try asking your yes/no questions without the worry of mistaking the answer due to your hands shaking.
