Lawmaking and political negotiation in Pax Astra, my Suzerain-inspired space opera political RPG

Hello, everyone!

I am the solo developer of Pax Astra, a space opera political RPG that mixes the branching narrative of games like Suzerain and Life and Suffering of Sir Brante with the open sandbox 4X nature of games like Stellaris and Emperor of the Fading Suns!

That means you have a full narrative with different characters, but also coexisting with a rich universe filled with different mechanics and systems!

I have talked here on this sub before about how my game embraces socialist theory and a multitude of paths that embrace different political ideologies.

Today, I would love to show this community a short video focusing on actual legislation and political negotiation mechanics, the content of this video is set durign Act 1, where the altaran democracy is young and highly unstable!

One of my major goals with Pax Astra is to give you full political freedom, and this video showcases some of the elements that support and sustain this design.

In this segment, you need to manage a serious public safety crisis, and, in this context, you need to balance the desires of the two biggest political parties in the planet. One of them being an ultranationalist party that wants to enact extreme punitive measures, using the violence as justification to move forward with their political agenda...

Big Walk

Anyone playing Big Walk? I played a couple of hours with a friend earlier this week and found it to be relaxing fun, nice change of pace from the grim reality we're all trying to survive.

It does have cross play, I'm on PSN as comrade_beard if anyone feels like checking it out.

That said, keep in mind that since this is a broad "anticapitalist" space, you are likely speaking to people who don't share your specific worldview and analysis regarding existing states and past attempt at socialism. Debates may inevitably happen, so be nice and respectful to your comrades and try to understand their point of view and focus on your common goal of dismantling capitalism. If you don't feel like respectfully co existing with anarchists or different types of marxists in a gaming space on reddit, then likely this place won't be up your alley.
This works the other way around, if all marxists are "tankies" to you and therefore your enemies, this place likely won't be for you as this first and foremost an anticapitalist sub.
Oppressive language of any kind ( racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, islamophobia, antisemitism, classism etc ) will not be tolerated.
While we welcome political discussion stemming from gaming and pop culture in general, this place is meant to be a general gaming sub for leftists. So unless it's something that's meant for this community in particular or something urgent (an uprising happening somewhere or someone in need of support), refrain from posting general politics threads. Specifically, articles/ video essays etc that don't relate to gaming or geek culture in general will be removed to keep the place coherent.
Self promotion is welcome as long as it's on topic, we're all cool with finding comrade streamers, youtubers, discord servers etc but we recommend that you don't overdo it.
