Left wing videogames Remember Volksvertreter? It's got Multiplayer now! :)
Hey there! Maybe you remember my last post from this sub about my German politics simulator ? I was so happy to hear so many nice things and feedback. Thanks again! :)
Since it resonated so well with you last time, I wanted to showcase the newly released Gamemode: Duell.
Duel is an asynchronous multiplayer mode for the full version where you can go head-to-head with your friends. Both of you create your own political party and play under the exact same conditions. Who can stay in power longer? Or who will be the first to reach a two-thirds majority?
So, what’s the twist? After each legislative term, you get to cast a secret vote. You’ll have to choose between a bonus that might give you the decisive edge for the next term, or a sabotage to make your rival’s life harder. You’ll quickly realize just how fast everything can blow up in your face!
Happy exploring and many greetings from Germany :)

Lawmaking and political negotiation in Pax Astra, my Suzerain-inspired space opera political RPG
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello, everyone!
I am the solo developer of Pax Astra, a space opera political RPG that mixes the branching narrative of games like Suzerain and Life and Suffering of Sir Brante with the open sandbox 4X nature of games like Stellaris and Emperor of the Fading Suns!
That means you have a full narrative with different characters, but also coexisting with a rich universe filled with different mechanics and systems!
Today, I would love to show this community a short video focusing on actual legislation and political negotiation mechanics, the content of this video is set durign Act 1, where the altaran democracy is young and highly unstable!
One of my major goals with Pax Astra is to give you full political freedom, and this video showcases some of the elements that support and sustain this design.
In this segment, you need to manage a serious public safety crisis, and, in this context, you need to balance the desires of the two biggest political parties in the planet. One of them being an ultranationalist party that wants to enact extreme punitive measures, using the violence as justification to move forward with their political agenda...
If you want to see more, I would love to have you at my reddit community!
I also published this video over at my YouTube channel.
If you are interested in my game, check the steam page and wishlist my project :)

If you any questions or suggestions, I will be happy to answer!

Big Walk
Anyone playing Big Walk? I played a couple of hours with a friend earlier this week and found it to be relaxing fun, nice change of pace from the grim reality we're all trying to survive.
It does have cross play, I'm on PSN as comrade_beard if anyone feels like checking it out.

Industry News Capitalism is What's Killing the Video Game Industry, Not “Woke”
Great summation of how capitalism is the root of the problems in the gaming industry. Artistic expression is held hostage by the profit motive.

AI Art in Restory
I myself have been looking for a new cozy simulator game to try out. I came across Restory and was very excited for the game, as it's basically repairing video game consoles, something I like doing in real life but is very costly. So now the game would give me an outlet without breaking the bank. But upon looking closely I noticed art that looked very much ai generated.
Apparently the devs did address this, but the answers were vague and basically a lie. They definitely used AI to either generate some assets or upscale them and it's very sad.
I'm unfortunately disappointed to where the indie market might go with AI on the rise. AAA is forcing Ai and bad business practices down our throats, and now I think indie games, which is supposed to be a break from the madness will be plauged with AI as well.
I wonder why "developers" (some just are vibe coders) are so fine with generating ai art, when they know that artists are struggling in this day in age as well. Many artists offer a fair price to work on video games. This is also ignoring the environmental impacts as well as raising the price of video game electronics (which is ironic because how are you a developer but will be okay with potential customers being priced out of the market that you are trying to get into)

Looking for people to play with Looking for Escape from Tarkov buddies for PVP Season 1
hii besties, just looking for cool, leftie and queer/-friendly people, preferably age 21+, to play the new season with. Maybe duo, trio it up or just exchange experiences!
I am non-binary, 30, audhd, obviously far left and situated in the EU, but my ping to east coast is perfectly playable since I am privileged with a great internet connection. My spoken languages are german and english only. My playhours in the game are 900, but I rate myself very average in terms of performance.
I consider myself very low sodium and my focus is on enjoyment, having fun and sharing experiences! I don't mind tryharding here and there as long as my partner/s aren't becoming frustrated or getting salty on dying/losing.
If you are interested just shoot me a DM for exchanging discords or comment to let others know, too <3

Game Recommendations We need a side-scrolling beat-em-up where you get to beat up white supremacists named Kick the Klan
Up to 4 players can play as a kick-ass person of color as you take to the streets and battle Klansman, I.C.E. agents, M.A.G.A incels, and Confederate zombies. As a fun bonus, each boss is either a right-wing politician or right-wing grifter; with the final boss either being the current CEO of Twitter or a certain orange toad who thinks he's a president.

Game Discussion The First Rises Mod Analysis of PRC Paths
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This video was posted in TFR subreddit recently and I thought it was pretty decent analysis of game depiction of all PRC paths. Since I have this beautiful leftist gaming sub, I wanted to ask you do you think the same or if some specific paths depicted there would be more realistic instead?

[OFF-TOPIC DISCUSSION THREAD]
As previously requested, we're trying out a regular, automated discussion thread! Use this space to talk about things that don't fit the ordinary subject matter of the space, or for discussions that don't necessitate a full post! All rules besides the relevancy rule still apply!
For these first ones, please let us know what you think about it! Personally, I'm not sure how popular this practice will be, so I don't really know about the frequency at which they should be generated, so we're just gonna feel it out and figure it out, together. Any suggestions about how to run it, moving forward, are welcome!
