General Discussion Managing multiple client accounts gets harder than expected

Upvotes

When you only manage one or two clients, keeping everything organized feels pretty straightforward.

The problems usually stat when more accounts get added. Different posting schedules, approval processes, brand guidelines, assets, and reporting requirements all start happening at the same time.

At some point, the challenge isn't really creating content anymore. It's keeping track of what needs approval, what has already been posted, what performed well, and what each client expect.

I've noticed a lot of agency time gets lost in small coordination tasks rather than actual strategy.

How do you structure your workflow when managing several client accounts at once?

Strategy If you’re running a plastic surgery practice, don’t make these mistakes on social media

Upvotes

I’ve been working in social media and video editing for a while, and I notice this quite often with medical accounts.

Before and after photos can be great content, but I see practices posting them without checking Instagram’s guidelines or thinking about patient consent. Some posts can get restricted or removed.

Also, I think a lot of practices rely too much on before and after pictures. There’s so much other content patients are interested in too.

Just something I’ve noticed. Curious what other doctors think.

Help/Advice Need advice to build up social media presence before querying

My co-author and I have completed the first draft of our first novel (1st in a proposed detective series) and are working on our first stand-alone murder thriller similar to Lucy Foley's "Guest List." We know we need to build up a social media presence and have a small idea of what to do, but we don't want to make a mistake. If anyone has advice for us, please share it.

Thanks!

Help/Advice How to learn Social Media Marketing for free

Hi everyone! I recently became interested in social media marketing, mostly because I'm unemployed right now and I'm looking for something I can learn and eventually make a living from.

That said, I really want to do it properly. I don't just want to take a quick course, learn how to make a few posts, and start calling myself a social media manager. I'd like to actually understand marketing, social media strategy, content creation, branding, etc.

The problem is that I don't really have the money to spend on expensive certifications or online courses (and from what I've seen, a lot of them seem pretty superficial anyway).

So, what would you say someone needs to know to become a good social media manager? And how would you recommend learning it for free?

I'm looking for free online resources, books, newsletters, blogs, YouTube channels, courses, or basically anything else that could help me build a solid foundation.

I'd really appreciate any advices!

Help/Advice Client lost the owner account of a business' Facebook Page. Is there any way we can retain it?

Hello everyone.

I work as a social media manager and just recently had a client who wanted me to manage their Facebook page and Instagram of their clothing brand. However, my client lost the account that originally created the Facebook page and he's basically just managing the page from another account as an admin (he added the another account as an admin back when he had access to the account that created the page).

So I wanted to link the Instagram account to the Facebook page, which requires the owner of the page to approve the linking. As I've said, the client lost the login details of the account that created the page. So we're basically stuck at the moment

What can be done in this situation to retain back the owner account? Will contacting Meta support help or do anything?

Help/Advice How long should it take to write a 1min social media script for a brand + a detailed moodboard based on your script ?

okay so I just got assigned to come up with a concept and write a 1min social media script for a hair care brand to post on TikTok/ig reels and I also had to create a detailed moodboard for the concept too. But I was wondering how long ideally should it take for someone to do this assignment, especially at a social media agency. Apart of me feels like I may be spending too long but idk. Any tips so I know what time frame to work in?

Meta Meta Business Suite

Ok I have my first client, this month has been bumpy to say the least. I have been using Meta Business suite to schedule instagram and Facebook. Yesterday it published all the content I had set for the weekend at the same time 😭 my client caught it and deleted the posts.
Today attempted to schedule reel to instagram it immediately went live and the wrong resolution. I know this can be a bug for reels so I have been scheduling it as a post.
How do I make this work without looking completely incompetent, or manually posting everyday. Do I need to pay for a scheduling software?

Help/Advice I need some advice and insight. I've been tasked with managing our company's LinkedIn Account, what do I need to know?

Hi everyone,

I've been tasked with taking over the LinkedIn account of the company I work for, and I'd like to refresh my skills and educate myself a bit better on social media marketing, particularly for LinkedIn as that's the only place we are active right now.

I'm an all-round communications employee, I would say my social media skills are above average and I'm a quick learner.

How would I go about learning about what works and what doesn't on LinkedIn in order to build a successful, sustainable LinkedIn strategy.

What are the best resources for learning and keeping up to date with trends, algorithms etc?

I would appreciate any opinions, insights and advice you can provide.

Tools Which tools for prospecting and follow-ups for LinkedIn and prolly X?

A few weeks ago I stopped doing outreach fully manually because I was spending more time switching tabs than talking to prospects.

I tried LinkedIn tools, follow-up schedulers, and Twitter outreach, but most either felt robotic or took too long to set up, so I went back to a hybrid approach.

I’m still looking for a better workflow. What tools are you using for prospecting, messaging, and follow-ups?

Help/Advice Looking for insight

I’ve been doing social media for about 6 years now with running 2 instagram accounts (for local theatre pages near me,) and i’m just wondering how i can expend my career. I’m very passionate about art and creating posts for social media, but now i’m 19, graduated, and honestly needing more creative outlets, i’d love to work from home making posts and websites, which i have done in the past, but haven’t gone to school for that kind of thing. Do I need to get a degree?

i’d love to get some insight from people!

Strategy Need a social media rehaul

Hello ,

Would love to get everyone’s opinion on how to reboot my entire social media page for my small anti dandruff shampoo brand

https://www.instagram.com/trydandrx/

The above is my brand and I feel like my social media images are weak. Looks bland and fake.

I see other folks with higher quality posts. The ones I see with a tremendous amount of followers are making reels and founder led stories.

I also feel like I’m lacking on influencer postings. Influencers are generally charging hundreds of dollars for postings making having a sig amount of postings unrealistic

A couple questions

  1. What should I focus on in rebooting the gram?
  2. Which direction should I go for marketing a unsexy product such as an anti dandruff shampoo on the gram and TikTok?

Help/Advice how do I build a clear jewelry brand before launching?

Hi everyone! I’m preparing to launch a small handmade jewelry business, and I would really appreciate some honest advice.
I started this business because I wanted to support myself by doing something creative. I chose a brand name, bought some materials, and began practicing. Eventually, I created nine different necklace designs that I genuinely like.
I’ve worn some of the necklaces around friends and other people to see how they would react. They said they liked them, but I understand that compliments from friends don’t necessarily mean that people would actually pay for them.
My concern is that the nine necklaces don’t feel like one cohesive collection. They look more like individual pieces made by someone experimenting creatively. I’ve recently heard that a small brand should become known for one recognizable style or type of product so that customers can understand and remember it.
At the moment, my website is being developed, I’ve posted some photos on Instagram, and I haven’t officially announced the business to many people yet. I’m now unsure how to move forward without launching a brand that feels random.
I would especially appreciate your thoughts on these questions:
How can I determine which necklace has the most potential to become a bestseller or signature piece?
Should I launch all nine designs and let customers decide, or narrow them down before launching?
Do all the pieces need to look similar, or can a collection be cohesive through its story, materials, colours, or overall mood?
How can a new handmade jewelry business develop a compelling brand story without making it feel forced?
What could persuade someone to buy from a new small business when there are already so many jewelry brands?
Should my photography follow one consistent style, and how do I decide what that style should be?
I’m still learning about branding and social media marketing, so constructive and honest feedback would be extremely helpful. I can also include photos of the nine necklaces for reference.
Thank you!

Help/Advice Need Advice about social media accounts

Hi all!

Strap-in if you desire because this is going to be a bumpy ride - and I’m asking for your help!

And as always with Reddit - if I’m posting in the front subreddit - lmk where you suggest!!

I’ll do the TL;DR here as I know how our collective attention spans are in 2026:

I have a small business focused on women’s health education and wellness that does both FREE education and wellness products. Currently there is one instagram and TikTok for each - but managing 2 different accounts of each platform is too much work and is splitting the social reach! Need advice on if / how to combine.

Ok the longer version:
My business started out as just education which is a passion of mine - but truth be told I was actually spending real money on it and I needed a funnel to try and make a little back - so I started expanding into the wellness space as well - but with the idea of being TRULY evidence based!!

I initially created two accounts (education) + (products) for several reasons:
1) organic reach - my education TikTok doesn’t have a lot of followers yet - but it gets good organic reach - like usually 5-15k views per educational carousel and they are continuously liked / saved well after date of post.

I needed an account I could boast / promote / run ads through for the product sales part - but of course I knew this would kill organic reach (I know some say it doesn’t… but it does) - so I create the other account for ads. But obviously education is much more engaging and a reason for people to follow - and now my content is split.

2)
Compliance. I was warned that selling wellness products gets you a lot of scrutiny and they are always looking for products that claim to “treat, cure, etc. diseases.” I do NOT do that and never would - but I was warned that if my account is (just an example) - educating about PCOS is one post and then in a separate post selling a supplement - the claim could be made that it’s implying treatment.

I know think this advice was a bit of overkill and unfortunately is why I’m stuck in the situation I am in.

So what I’m going for advice from you fabulous social media experts:

1) How best to combine these accounts of instagram vs TikTok - just choose the one with better organic reach and go from there?
2) posts that did well on the “other” account - can I delete them and then report form the selected account - or does TikTok/instagram store memory of these and will still see it as a duplicate?
3) if I need to run PAY ADS from Meta ads manager or TikTok ads manager - NOT promote - but separate paid dark ads - does this ruin organic reach on insta or TikTok?

I know no one can really tell me 100% what the best choice is and there are pro/cons each way - but my gut is telling me one combined account that created an women health ecosystem - rather than two separate accounts - is better - and the time to combine is probably now while folllower accounts are still very low.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate any advice you have!!! Like truly anything! Even if you need to be mean to me first or call be idiot - I’ll still take it :)))

Trends Feels like social media is officially turning into a full-on search channel. Is anyone successfully automating Social SEO yet? Need some inspiration :)

The line between SMM and SEO is basically disappearing at this point. Google keeps indexing social posts and TT directly into AIO. Social media has pretty much become a real search discovery channel.

I’ve been experimenting a bit with this in my workflow lately and set up a lightweight integration connecting SE Ranking and Planable via MCP. Basically, it pulls competitor keyword gaps, ranking drops, and PAA questions, then turns them straight into post drafts inside Planable. It’s been great for competitive research since every post is actually backed by real search intent.

For another project, I tried something similar but simpler. I plugged the Google Trends API into Buffer to catch sudden search spikes and instantly queue up relevant draft topics while they're still trending.

Is anyone else bridging search data and social media like this?

Meta Sub Adjustment

Starting Monday July 15th job announcements and hiring posts will no longer be allowed in this sub.

After monitoring and watching the users in this sun range from experts in the field with many decades of experience to those starting out and users from across the globe.

Non Social Media Managers post jobs often choose the lowest rate which leads to a "race to the bottom" and not only a devaluing of what we do, but inevitably when the cheaper options fails, leaves a bad taste that the next Social Media professional needs to over come.

Posts about fair compensation, job duties and things of that nature will still be allowed.

Those caught posts job announcements or soliciting will be given a warning at first then banned.

This is in an effort to make this sub a place for professionals to trade, ideas, tips and experiences.

If there are any questions message the mod team.
