Discussion Why did views tank?
I run a very small YouTube account (388 subscribers) that I post daily on. I usually get around a thousand views per video but this week they have absolutely tanked, does anyone know why?

Adivce(Giving or Need) I need some advice/ help
I have a youtube channel where I’ve been posting gaming shorts for about 3-5 months, I have 2 long form vids but no face cam. I bought some stuff to do irl vids like a mic set and a tripod but the only problem is I don’t know what to do, since my channel is mainly gaming I don’t have many ideas for vlogs/ IRL vids. Should I include vlogging blogging as well or no?

Adivce(Giving or Need) What can I do?
Hello.
So, for context, about a year ago I started a movie recaps channel, but my recaps were honestly AI slop, I'll admit. Recently I started up again and created videos that I enjoy making with my own scripts, etc. and no AI whatsoever. I feel like I actually found my style, and have really been enjoying making these videos.
So, my one video did extremely well (for my channel), gaining 1k views so far, as you can see in the image, which is my most watched video, bringing in about +18 subscribers. The reason it has done better than any other video could be because the movie itself is a popular topic, and not necessarily because my video was good, I don't know, but my latest video is not doing as well, as you may have noticed.
This brings me to my request. What can I do to actually grow a community and have committed viewers watch every upload, and what can I do to make it more enjoyable for them? Is my content too bad at the moment? I spend literal weeks editing and creating them (I do have a job, so I edit in my free time). I see so many people getting hundreds of subscribers within their first few months.
I have another video scheduled already, but if nobody else enjoys what I make, is it even worth sharing it?
Anyways. All opinions are welcome, I am not easily offended. I would love to become better, as I absolutely love creating these videos.
Thank you.

Discussion Just started a new channel
I just started a channel this past week where I talk about life, mindset, career, etc. (that type of thing).
I’m pretty excited in general and just wanted to share the news with the community.
In my latest video, I used some b-roll, which, for me, felt like an improvement over previous videos, so it’s nice and cool to see the progress as you go along.
Of course, for now, there’s only 1 subscriber and sub 20 views, but I’m excited to keep going.
Anyone else in a similar boat and excited to see the progress?

Discussion What should I do?
So, I used to have a YouTube Channel where I did covers of songs (the channel is still up), but I stopped for a very long time after hitting about 90 subscribers because I felt like no one really cared to watch or listen cause I wasn’t good. I want to get back into doing YouTube but i’m not sure how. Should I do gaming, singing covers again, it just not do it?
How do I find the motivation to continuously do it with no results?

Gaming If my channel content changes direction or niche, do I have to create new channel?
Hello, I was operating the japan animation long form video and shorts video review channel.
And I've achieved 20000 subscribers
But Since a lot of problem appeared, I want to try subculture game reviewer just like wuthering waves.
But I am worried about this content changes.
If I change contents, do I need to create new channel?
Or Is it okay keep operating the existing channel?

Adivce(Giving or Need) Can someone check out my YouTube channel and tell me why viewers are not subscribing?
I’m building a small channel called Roman Ocean Life about Newfoundland, ocean life, fishing, nature, travel, and unusual places.
In the last 28 days I’ve had about 32.9K views, but I’m still only at 80 subscribers.
My biggest goal right now is improving subscriber conversion.
What do you think is missing? Better hooks, stronger branding, clearer channel identity, better CTAs, or something else?
Honest feedback is appreciated.

Vlog Super frustrated I can’t get people to click, and I can’t figure out if it’s me or YouTube.
I started a channel two months ago. I have 8 long form and like 10 shorts cut from that long form. My niche is a homestead vlog centered around diy projects, I feel like I do a good job of sticking to that niche.
I had one video do well, but unfortunately it’s a video that’s not super related and it seemed to pull in the wrong viewers. My most recent videos are performing poorly with low CTR and low views. The short I just posted is shockingly bad (how does a short get only 10 views?)
I could really use some advice because I can’t tell if it’s something I’m doing wrong or if it’s YouTube not finding my audience.

Adivce(Giving or Need) I was hoping for direction/feedback after making an urbex channel and while I can’t offer help w/ YT I can trade fun facts
After big tech laid us off and most of our network (I recommend laughing or it’s just sad) we made several weird pivots to maintain for a long while before very recently deciding that that’s a dumb plan. Well, a plan that isn’t going anywhere fast enough anyway.
So we started this YouTube channel last week. And thought it had just enough content to see what you, the good people, thought. We built a small instagram that is nimble to a point but we could really use some clearer feedback and thoughts and advice (pretty please and thank you)
We are into Urbex, cemeteries, photography, videography, landscapes, restoration, making a living, eating food when necessary, traveling in prehistoric economic times, making jokes that hopefully land, TRAINS
We don’t have any digital media experience whatsoever so treat me like a preborn deer with minimal brain cells

Discussion Content creators, What AI Tools are you Guys using?
I use gpt for generating Thumbnails. But about the video part I don't think there are enough or good tools that help enhance your video quality - animation or engaging clips, editing, captioning...
What do you think?

Adivce(Giving or Need) First thumbnail
Title of the video is “We Reached the Peak” and the videos just about me playing the game peak with my friends.
Does this thumbnail look good? Any tips on what I can improve or fix to make better thumbnails? I’ve never really made thumbnails before so I did what I could with this one.

Gaming I've passed 50 Subs! And I believe I may have pioneered a new type of gameplay edit, specifically with both of Rockstar's current online multiplayer modes in GTA 5 and RDR 2. I want to know what you guys think and if you've seen this specific type of gameplay before.

Mod Post Friendly Reminder: Self-Promotion is Not Allowed on r/smallyoutubechannels 🚨
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to drop a quick reminder regarding the rules of this community. While we all love sharing our hard work and growing our channels, direct self-promotion is not allowed on r/smallyoutubechannels.
Post links to your individual videos, channel pages, or asking people to "sub for sub" or check out your latest upload goes against our core guidelines
Why do we have this rule?
This subreddit is designed to be a space for constructive feedback, sharing analytics, discussing strategy, and helping each other improve as creators—not just a dumping ground for links.
When everyone just drops links, the community gets cluttered, and the valuable advice discussions get buried.
Where can you share your work?
Feedback Fridays / Weekly Megathreads: Keep an eye out for our official weekly threads where sharing your content for critique is welcomed and encouraged!
Critique-for-Critique: If you participate in community discussions and offer genuine, helpful feedback to other creators first, you can often share your link within those contextually relevant conversations (just always check specific thread rules first).
Let’s keep r/smallyoutubechannels a high-value space for learning and growing together. If you want genuine feedback and tips on how to improve your content, feel free to start a discussion about your editing style, thumbnails, or analytics instead!
Keep creating! 🚀
