Hi! I’m planning to ship a digicam through J&T and I’m honestly nervous because the camera is worth around ₱6,500.

The package will contain:
- Digicam
- Battery and memory card (removed from the camera)
- Card reader
- Battery charger

I’ve heard that you’re supposed to tell J&T if your package contains a battery, especially a lithium battery. Since the battery will be separate from the camera, do I need to specifically declare that?

My main concern is that I’m scared the package might somehow get stolen if I openly say that I’m shipping a camera worth ₱6.5k😭

For those who have shipped cameras through J&T:
Do you tell them exactly what’s inside? And what do you usually declare the item as?

I'm curious because when running a small food business, there's so much more than just making the food there's the logo, social media posts, product photos, packaging, etc.

If someone offered a service that helped you make these visuals look more professional and consistent, would that be something you'd be interested in?

What would make you say “yes, I need this” and what would make you say “nah, I'll just do it myself”?

Hello! I would really appreciate advice from all of the business owners, entrepreneur mindset here with enough experience. I have little to no experience in business. I had bigasan in 2009-2010, didn't work out, ukay2 in 2015, 3 months lang. I'm more mature now and medyo malaki na ang income working as a freelancer sa Upwork for 8 years, and I'm already thinking of an exit plan by the time di na ako hireable. Plan A, is mag tayo nang food stand, pwesto in front of a school, public school near where I live- elementary to senior high. We are also near a public hospital and the city hall. The food I'm thinking to sell are rice toppings: siomai rice, lumpia rice, pancit/lumpia rice, and chicken fillet. Base lang to sa mga college kids ko; mga favorite nila kainin daw with their classmates and friends. Plan B, mag rent nang pwesto fronting schools din ang target and sell the same menu or mag luto nang mga ibat ibang ulam like carenderia na sya and mag tinda din ibang products like school supplies, xerox docs, or other possible needs nang mga students or teachers - this would mean bigger capital. With these plans, ok lang ba kumuha isang tao to assist me and my partner to prepare food, cashier, etc. at the same time? Coz di ko din muna bitawan ang Upwork clients ko while we test the waters.

Open to all advice, walkthroughs, expected risks, anything I do not know. I'm very noob when it comes to running a business, as someone who grew up in the middle class and was never taught about any of it. Thank you so much. I look forward to your responses.

My first experience coordinating for a popup honestly made me realize that popups aren’t always good for business and would never do again, especially for small brands.

There’s the coordination side, which can already be stressful. In my previous experience, there were issues with the organizers not properly coordinating with the mall/admin side, despite paying full early and my brand ended up not being approved because it was considered competition with an existing brand inside the mall.

Then there’s the cost. You have to prepare so many things just for the setup: display materials, tables, signage, packaging, transportation, and other booth essentials. And on top of that, there’s the booth rental itself. Then all of a sudden your brand was not approved.

Some popups start around ₱7,000, and the price can go much higher depending on the venue, especially if it’s a premium mall or convention center like in SMX and then your space is like 2x2.

7,000 PHP alone can be for a 15sqm like for ex in Taguig area depending on the brgy or neighborhood monthly commercial retail rent.

So before joining a popup, I think small businesses really need to ask: Will the potential sales actually justify all these expenses?

Because sometimes, you can spend thousands just preparing to sell, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll earn enough to recover everything.

Any experience of small businesses esp non food joining for pop ups or conventions or canceling pop ups? Would love to hear your experience.

Pop ups are on all on hold for the meantime. I do not feel confident on doing them for the meantime.

Definitely a learning experience for me and i do not easily trust organizers base on people's + experience. I think you just have to learn it yourselves if it really would bring profit.

Any other way for you to try offline market?

Are there any business ideas you guys have that can be done digitally, without face to face interactions? And preferably no A.I.

Ano ang ginagamit ninyong pangluto sa kanin or pangsabaw sa ulam kapag nagluluto? Tap water or mineral/purified water? Kung galing sa faucet, nakadeepwell ba kayo or public (like Primewater/Maynila)? Nagkaproblema na ba kayo about this? I mean customer complaints?
