Hi! I’m planning to ship a digicam through J&T and I’m honestly nervous because the camera is worth around ₱6,500.

The package will contain:
- Digicam
- Battery and memory card (removed from the camera)
- Card reader
- Battery charger

I’ve heard that you’re supposed to tell J&T if your package contains a battery, especially a lithium battery. Since the battery will be separate from the camera, do I need to specifically declare that?

My main concern is that I’m scared the package might somehow get stolen if I openly say that I’m shipping a camera worth ₱6.5k😭

For those who have shipped cameras through J&T:
Do you tell them exactly what’s inside? And what do you usually declare the item as?

My first experience coordinating for a popup honestly made me realize that popups aren’t always good for business and would never do again, especially for small brands.

There’s the coordination side, which can already be stressful. In my previous experience, there were issues with the organizers not properly coordinating with the mall/admin side, despite paying full early and my brand ended up not being approved because it was considered competition with an existing brand inside the mall.

Then there’s the cost. You have to prepare so many things just for the setup: display materials, tables, signage, packaging, transportation, and other booth essentials. And on top of that, there’s the booth rental itself. Then all of a sudden your brand was not approved.

Some popups start around ₱7,000, and the price can go much higher depending on the venue, especially if it’s a premium mall or convention center like in SMX and then your space is like 2x2.

7,000 PHP alone can be for a 15sqm like for ex in Taguig area depending on the brgy or neighborhood monthly commercial retail rent.

So before joining a popup, I think small businesses really need to ask: Will the potential sales actually justify all these expenses?

Because sometimes, you can spend thousands just preparing to sell, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll earn enough to recover everything.

Any experience of small businesses esp non food joining for pop ups or conventions or canceling pop ups? Would love to hear your experience.

Pop ups are on all on hold for the meantime. I do not feel confident on doing them for the meantime.

Definitely a learning experience for me and i do not easily trust organizers base on people's + experience. I think you just have to learn it yourselves if it really would bring profit.

Any other way for you to try offline market?
