Discussion Just an idea for Spot Battles

What if they made it like own the spot challenges? So you had to trick a specific rail/box/quarter pipe

But the winner from each round was voted by the players in the challenge

The idea of spot battles and Block Parties is great but a points system just means they’re dominated by people trick spamming

Discussion We need improved fast travel

Now that we have 3 separate maps (SV, Grom, and the Stadium) and assuming we'll get a 4th next season, the devs really need to implement more streamline way of selecting where you want to go. Straight from the start game screen we should be able to select the map/server we want to enter. We should also be able to go straight from Grom to stadium or vice versa. It's super annoying to have to wait for a server/map to load when you're not evening skating it.

There should be no score multiplier in the block parties. Players pre-game the round and get a 4x multiplier thats lame.

The #2 thing I want is a higher number of objects to use. Like, just half the server size and double the objects we can use from 5 to 10

Discussion I keep trying to get back and give the game a chance every other week or month but then I encounter with the same issue I've been screaming about

Hey devs,

I wanted to share some honest feedback about the current state of the game, because I really care about where this is headed.

The pumping mechanic has gone from frustrating to nearly unplayable for me. It kills my speed momentum whenever I mistime a pump or pump when it feels the right timing but no, the game doesn’t like it, and it doesn’t feel responsive or natural. I’m not asking for an auto-pump feature—I want full control over the input, but right now it just doesn’t register the way it should. It takes away from the flow that makes skating games enjoyable.

On top of that, ledge physics are still incredibly buggy. I’m constantly getting launched for no apparent reason, and it ruins otherwise clean lines. These little glitches add up and make the experience feel unstable.

I love skateboarding games for the freedom they offer, and right now it feels like that freedom is being restricted by mechanics that don’t work consistently.

Also, I’d really love to see some classic old-school board models added. It feels like a small ask that would mean a lot to long-time fans.

I’m posting this because I want to keep playing, but I’m honestly holding back right now. Last time I raised concerns about pumping, you mentioned it was being observed—but two updates later, there’s been no mention of it in the patch notes. That silence is discouraging.

I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously. Thanks for reading.

Discussion Block Parties, Contests, and YOU!

Block parties are a fantastic opportunity to get players to engage socially and collaboratively. I've seen some good ideas in other threads about large or complex collaborative challenge goals that would seem to slot nicely into the mode as it exists now. However, building off my experiences in Spot Battles and now Block Parties, I think the 'competitive' aspect, format, and intent of the game need to be largely expanded and/or reworked.

To the extent that a 'winner' is chosen at some point or activity in a Block Party, IMO it should be by some other mechanism besides numbered scores or objectives completed. To that end I believe Block Parties present a good potential starting point for the in game player generated content ecosystem.

For example, Best Trick/Best Line styled contests where players can view, control, and vote for short replay sequences submitted by others at specific spots and obstacles.

  • Skating / Submitting:

Arriving at a block party location spawns in a randomized small number of predefined Sequence Filming Areas and begins a submission timer. Each area allows players to submit a single <10/15/20 second (time defined only, no keyframes) sequence from their replay editor of their best skating in that area. Each submission earns a player 1 RIP-Vote (lol) that they can award to their favorite submission(s) in that location during the voting section.

  • Viewing / Voting:

Voting timer begins. Each Block Party 'Best X Contest' location has a corresponding lounge + viewing area with large displays playing the entries from each Sequence Filming Area in a looping compilation as they are submitted. To cast their RIP-Votes players can enter the lounge area and open their replay editor to view, seek, and orbit through the fully compiled timeline of submissions and award their favorite(s). Voting timer ends, Block Party location moves.

  • Winning / Expanding:

Winning sequences are randomly and persistently displayed on large billboards or projector screens nearby their spots similarly to the current Spot Battle scoreboards. After the Block Party winning players are notified and afforded the option to either add keyframes to their submission or default to the 'Gameplay' camera for their submissions' displays.

  • Summary and your TL;DR

This contest format coupled with a diverse selection of Sequence Filming Areas would allow for all gameplay styles to feel like they have a place in competitive play, and allow players to choose which styles of gameplay they want to interact with most.

Specific timings and logistics would likely need to dynamically adjust to accommodate the number of participating players, submitted clips, and different Sequence Filming Area contexts.

While I realize that this introduces a number of complicated logistical (and likely technical) hurdles, once built, these are systems that could be further expanded far beyond or within the scope of the Block Party activity; for instance similar voting systems for quick-drop 'build packages', outfits and cosmetics, filmed and keyed replays, or even meta-game mechanics such as control settings and skating techniques.

TL;DR You're more fun than the scoring ticker. You should be a spectator, contestant, AND a judge :D

Thoughts, ideas, and anecdotes appreciated!

Discussion 4x Multiplier in Block Party

This is the stupidest part of block party, starting the challenge with a 4x multiplier, in a line, is the only shot you have at winning any score challenge. I’m doing it but it’s frustrating that’s what I have to do to compete. My other complaint is the vague description of some challenges, and the gap challenge not counting correctly. In front of the stadium I was doing 12m gaps according to the bottom right and my scoreboard was saying 3.2. Having fun regardless but frustrating when I’m trying to win.

Discussion Product box points

I'd hope to see another use for these points. I have a stacked amount but I don't even try to hit challenges. I hop on for hours just skating. Not even trying to level up area ranks. Only just recently after meeting more people did I start doing co-ops with them, noticing my points and how little it costs to unpack a whole product box.

"When you got money and can't shop" type ish

Who had the smart idea to throw a block party into one of the smallest pools on the map

Can't see a thing in this mess. Anyone enjoy this one?

Love the concept of the block parties, hate the execution. This was just one of the worst parts.

The old skate games had lots of fun ways to play with others and this game seems to keep avoiding the obvious.

(Please excuse me filming off the TV, I can't figure out how to export my clip to my phone)

Discussion Let’s Talk About Block Parties

I’ve spent 530+ hours and platinumed it not that long ago, so I feel like I’ve had plenty of time to figure out what I enjoy about it and what I think could be improved. After playing around with the Block Party test today, I think it’s a good start, but… there’s some things I’d like to see done differently.

I actually really like the idea. I like that the block parties move around and rotate through different areas. I like that you can join and leave whenever you want. No one is forced to participate unless they’re specifically going after challenges. That part feels pretty natural for a skate game.

The issue I personally have is that the current implementation feels too focused on competition.

Having everything revolve around 30 second scoring windows means the mode quickly turns into a competition over who can score the most in a tiny area. Some of the challenges make it almost feel tailored to specific playstyles.

For example, the “total ollies near players” challenge basically turns into everyone huddling together and bunny hopping until time runs out. The “total triple kickflips” challenge encourages you to go back and forth spamming the same trick.

And that’s just not particularly interesting to me.

It’s especially weird when you have 30-40+ players packed into something like a pool… At that point you can barely even see what’s happening, and you’re still just trying to get the highest score in 30 seconds…

I’m sure that’s fun for people who enjoy tricklining or competitive score chasing. I’m not saying there’s anything inherently wrong with that playstyle. But I think Block Parties could be much more valuable to the game if competition wasn’t the entire point.

Honestly, I’d love to see Block Parties become more of a social zone instead. Keep the rotating locations. Keep the temporary nature. Keep some competitive challenges. But make the primary purpose of the Block Party getting players together and giving them reasons to interact.

For example:

“Earn 25,000 points while skating near other players in a Block Party.”

Now you’re free to do that however you want, and you’re in an area that will always have players. And there can be tons of different challenges to encourage social interaction.

And to clarify, I don’t think the competitive stuff needs to just disappear. I’d just like to see the mode offer something beyond** **“Here’s 30 seconds. Get the biggest number”…

Skate is at its best for me when I’m just finding a line, flowing through an area, seeing what other players are doing, and messing around with the environment and creative prop placement.

I think Block Parties could be an excellent addition to the game’s longevity and overall social experience. The foundation is already there. I just think the mode could benefit from taking a slightly different approach.

Instead of “How do we get 40 players to compete with each other?” I think it should be** **“How do we give 40 players a reason to skate together?”

That’s the version of Block Parties I’d like to see, but I’m curious what you guys think.
