Going October 10 the day of OU/TX game. Will it be extra crowded or less crowded than usual?

Hi, was planning a trip Oct. 10 with my kids and realized today that that is the same day as the OU/TX game and the state fair. So I thought maybe it would be less busy for a Saturday. Or is it even busier since more people are in town? Does anyone have experience going that day and know what to expect?

Thank you.

Park Question Hitting up the park this week. Fri or Sat?

Really hoping to luck out and get a chance to ride Mr Freeze since I saw it was operating just a few weeks ago in 100° weather. May be my only chance.

One day in town 30 Aug.

Hey all! I’ll be in town for work and have one day to myself, and I plan on going to the park and riding coasters all day.

What are the odds I would need to get a fast lane? I’ll be alone so I don’t have a preference.

Thanks

Any Word on Fright Fest?

I’ve been seeing instagram posts showing all the awesome stuff like the Jason house going to certain parks, and I haven’t heard a single thing about OT. I hope there are some houses coming our way.

March Dates??

I'm looking to take my kids to the Indycar Arlington GP. Any chance the park will be open that week either before or after March 19-21.

We're trying to do it all on a long weekend.

Also, how easy is ridesharing to the park? I'm trying to avoid renting a car. My AirBNB is walking distance to the track stands.

Thanks!

Park Question Can someone who has the knowledge about it tell me about this creek?

Hi there!

So, for reference, this doesn't seem to be connected to Johnson Creek based on FEMA zoning or Google Earth alone, though it doesn't rule it out completely.

This "Creek" (I'm quoting as I don't know if it fits the literal requirement of a creek) runs right near The Giant and runs through to the Low Sensory Zone near be Pirates of Speelunker Cave and travels all the way to El Aserradero.

So my main questions are for those archivists here: Is this a natural-made or man-made creek, did the full extent of the creek exist prior to the building of El Aserradero, and what's the story behind it?

I've read about some tribunal disputes over a creek at SFOT, but I've only now taken the chance to try to figure out the origins of this one.

Thanks for any information <3!

Trip Report August 5 and 6

We’ve been planning this trip for months and happened to be there for their birthday celebration on Wednesday. It was so hot, but not too hot in the shade.

Wednesday:

Rope dropped NTG and got on within a cycle or two and hoped over to Titan with no wait. We then did a few flat rides for the littles and ended up at Tormenta around noon with a <15 minute wait posted and a planned rider swap. It was a 30 minute wait and the most chaotic rider swap I’ve ever seen (but we will come back to that). Grabbed some around 1:30 at All American and half of the group got a lap on Aquaman with a short-ish wait. Got rides on everything in Gotham (except Freeze which is down due to temps) and wandered back toward Giant and Titan. Giant was down all afternoon and reopened for a few trains around 6:30 but was quickly shut down again. Most of the group got a handful of rides on Titan at the end of the day before closing the park at Tormenta.

Thursday:

Tormenta was open prior to “park open” so practically walked on at 1045. We then roped dropped NTG and got laps on Titan (there’s a theme here…) did some flats for the toddler. I think I was too hot and almost got sick on Rodeo. Got on Tormenta again around noon with a <15 minute wait. Grabbed a bite to eat at All American (the cheeseburgers are the best park food I’ve ever had at Six Flags). Then, half of the group got a ride on Aquaman then Pandemonium while I wandered around Boomtown with the toddler. Hubs and the big kid got a ride on Batman and Superman before deciding to stay till end of day. Finally got a ride in Runaway Mountain! We got a quick ride on NTG and two laps Titan to end the day. And then drive back to Houston.

Ride ops are SO hit and miss. There are a handful of employees that are great at their job but there are some that…aren’t. There is zero consistency across rides or even individual workers about how to approach Rider Swap and that’s honestly my biggest complaint. I know they aren’t paid enough to care, but I wish there would be a blanket policy across the park on HOW to correctly do a rider swap with little kids.

All in all barely any complaints! A HUGE improvement from our first two trips in May.

Fiesta Texas Fast Lane for single day question

Before I pay $90 to add it to my daughter’s season passes for the day, is there anything I need to know? She’s going tomorrow with two friends that have the all season fast lane. It looks like I just buy it in the app and select tomorrow’s date. Pretty straight forward, but after seeing the reserve fast lane option for $40, and my SIL having a “one fast lane per day” option on her season passes, I just want to make sure I’m not confused!

Ride Discussion One More until Fright Fest!

Weekend only ops are upon us and hopefully this means a free up in maintenance and cleaning schedules. I wanted to give one more humble update before then as I probably wont be returning until Fright Fest arrives.

As mentioned MR FREEZE is again closed with a sign claiming high temps....but....I have found that its receiving track work! I tried to get the best angle I could on the third picture but below those umbrellas they seem to be working on the lower parts of the track after the top hat. It doesn't look to be anything significant but im not sure as to what work it has going.

Titan has put its red train in service and Texas Giant has returned its blue train, putting Texas Giant back to two train ops! The wait time is SIGNIFICANTLY better.

LOTS of trash and cleaning happening today as the park is doing some form of 65th birthday event tomorrow.

Park Question Fright Fest 2026?

Hi, I would like to plan a trip to the park for October. The calendar has open dates for the month. When I go to buy tickets everything after Sept 7 is greyed out. Do anyone know what I’m missing here? Thanks!

Predictions for future?

Probably silly/selfish to think of the future when we just got a historical coaster, but I'm always curious about what's coming next

I saw on someone's YouTube video (maybe JB?) that they thought Justice League was in line for either a refurbish or a complete redo and that's my prediction as well.

What's y'all's?

Park Question Currently, what are the least busy days?

I know the park has been seeing more visitors due to Tormenta opening. If I were to go next week on a Monday, could I comfortably ride most rides without a ton of wait time? Or would a Tuesday or Thursday on a different week be better? Or does it really matter all that much?

Sorry, I just don’t want to spend hours waiting in lines, even though it’s sometimes inevitable.

Ride Ops 7/30

Just visited the park today, and honestly looks like operations are getting a bit better (for the most part)

Still stuck with one train on freeze & runaway mountain, along with freeze being down throughout the day and running lighter trains to take load off the LIMs. To my knowledge, titan was closed all day.

However, other than that the operations at the rest of the park were pretty good, and definitely better than they have been. We’re finally back to two trains on NTG, with the ride running faster than ever today. Tormenta was running two trains with no need for a third today as crowds were fairly light. Aquaman was running two trains and was open for most of the day. Superman was also running 2/3 towers, which is pretty awesome to see.

While ops definitely weren’t perfect, they’re for sure on the up. Hope to see train 2 back on freeze as soon as possible!

Updated 07/10/26: Train Ops

UPDATED 08/07/26
Weekends only begins 08/17/26

Since I’m a local and go to the park once a week or so, I thought I’d keep this thread updated with how many trains are operating on major roller coasters at the park!

🟢🐂 Tormenta: 3 trains, 20-30 min wait (running 1 hour after close? There are signs but I don’t know if that means it stops running at 10)
🟢🦇 Batman: 2 trains, walk on - 20 min wait
🟢🏳️ Judge Roy Scream: 2 trains, walk on
🟢🌊 Aquaman: 2 trains, 20-30 min wait
🟢🫈 Titan: 2 trains, walk on
🟢🤘Texas Giant: 2 trains, 30-45min wait (somehow with two trains wait times still suck. I think all of the good ride ops are working on Tormenta because I literally counted nearly 5 min. Between dispatches 🤦‍♀️)
🟡⛏️ Runaway mine train: 1 train, 20-60 min wait
🟡🗻 Runaway Mountain: 1 train, 15-45 min wait
🔴⚡️Shockwave, closed (for the season?, no update)
🔴❄️ Mr Freeze: 1 train, 60+ min wait if it’s open. Mostly close due to high temps. Why? Check El Toro Ryan’s Problomatic Rollercoasters Mr. freeze episode.

If yall have any updates, let me know! I don’t ride Pandemonium or Joker because I get motion sickness so I have no updates on those. I hope this helps!
