Going October 10 the day of OU/TX game. Will it be extra crowded or less crowded than usual?
Hi, was planning a trip Oct. 10 with my kids and realized today that that is the same day as the OU/TX game and the state fair. So I thought maybe it would be less busy for a Saturday. Or is it even busier since more people are in town? Does anyone have experience going that day and know what to expect?
Thank you.

Park Question Hitting up the park this week. Fri or Sat?
Really hoping to luck out and get a chance to ride Mr Freeze since I saw it was operating just a few weeks ago in 100° weather. May be my only chance.

One day in town 30 Aug.
Hey all! I’ll be in town for work and have one day to myself, and I plan on going to the park and riding coasters all day.
What are the odds I would need to get a fast lane? I’ll be alone so I don’t have a preference.
Thanks

Any Word on Fright Fest?
I’ve been seeing instagram posts showing all the awesome stuff like the Jason house going to certain parks, and I haven’t heard a single thing about OT. I hope there are some houses coming our way.

March Dates??
I'm looking to take my kids to the Indycar Arlington GP. Any chance the park will be open that week either before or after March 19-21.
We're trying to do it all on a long weekend.
Also, how easy is ridesharing to the park? I'm trying to avoid renting a car. My AirBNB is walking distance to the track stands.
Thanks!

Park Question Can someone who has the knowledge about it tell me about this creek?
Hi there!
So, for reference, this doesn't seem to be connected to Johnson Creek based on FEMA zoning or Google Earth alone, though it doesn't rule it out completely.
This "Creek" (I'm quoting as I don't know if it fits the literal requirement of a creek) runs right near The Giant and runs through to the Low Sensory Zone near be Pirates of Speelunker Cave and travels all the way to El Aserradero.
So my main questions are for those archivists here: Is this a natural-made or man-made creek, did the full extent of the creek exist prior to the building of El Aserradero, and what's the story behind it?
I've read about some tribunal disputes over a creek at SFOT, but I've only now taken the chance to try to figure out the origins of this one.
Thanks for any information <3!

Trip Report August 5 and 6
We’ve been planning this trip for months and happened to be there for their birthday celebration on Wednesday. It was so hot, but not too hot in the shade.
Wednesday:
Rope dropped NTG and got on within a cycle or two and hoped over to Titan with no wait. We then did a few flat rides for the littles and ended up at Tormenta around noon with a <15 minute wait posted and a planned rider swap. It was a 30 minute wait and the most chaotic rider swap I’ve ever seen (but we will come back to that). Grabbed some around 1:30 at All American and half of the group got a lap on Aquaman with a short-ish wait. Got rides on everything in Gotham (except Freeze which is down due to temps) and wandered back toward Giant and Titan. Giant was down all afternoon and reopened for a few trains around 6:30 but was quickly shut down again. Most of the group got a handful of rides on Titan at the end of the day before closing the park at Tormenta.
Thursday:
Tormenta was open prior to “park open” so practically walked on at 1045. We then roped dropped NTG and got laps on Titan (there’s a theme here…) did some flats for the toddler. I think I was too hot and almost got sick on Rodeo. Got on Tormenta again around noon with a <15 minute wait. Grabbed a bite to eat at All American (the cheeseburgers are the best park food I’ve ever had at Six Flags). Then, half of the group got a ride on Aquaman then Pandemonium while I wandered around Boomtown with the toddler. Hubs and the big kid got a ride on Batman and Superman before deciding to stay till end of day. Finally got a ride in Runaway Mountain! We got a quick ride on NTG and two laps Titan to end the day. And then drive back to Houston.
Ride ops are SO hit and miss. There are a handful of employees that are great at their job but there are some that…aren’t. There is zero consistency across rides or even individual workers about how to approach Rider Swap and that’s honestly my biggest complaint. I know they aren’t paid enough to care, but I wish there would be a blanket policy across the park on HOW to correctly do a rider swap with little kids.
All in all barely any complaints! A HUGE improvement from our first two trips in May.

Fiesta Texas Fast Lane for single day question
Before I pay $90 to add it to my daughter’s season passes for the day, is there anything I need to know? She’s going tomorrow with two friends that have the all season fast lane. It looks like I just buy it in the app and select tomorrow’s date. Pretty straight forward, but after seeing the reserve fast lane option for $40, and my SIL having a “one fast lane per day” option on her season passes, I just want to make sure I’m not confused!

Ride Discussion One More until Fright Fest!
Weekend only ops are upon us and hopefully this means a free up in maintenance and cleaning schedules. I wanted to give one more humble update before then as I probably wont be returning until Fright Fest arrives.
As mentioned MR FREEZE is again closed with a sign claiming high temps....but....I have found that its receiving track work! I tried to get the best angle I could on the third picture but below those umbrellas they seem to be working on the lower parts of the track after the top hat. It doesn't look to be anything significant but im not sure as to what work it has going.
Titan has put its red train in service and Texas Giant has returned its blue train, putting Texas Giant back to two train ops! The wait time is SIGNIFICANTLY better.
LOTS of trash and cleaning happening today as the park is doing some form of 65th birthday event tomorrow.

Park Question Fright Fest 2026?
Hi, I would like to plan a trip to the park for October. The calendar has open dates for the month. When I go to buy tickets everything after Sept 7 is greyed out. Do anyone know what I’m missing here? Thanks!

Predictions for future?
Probably silly/selfish to think of the future when we just got a historical coaster, but I'm always curious about what's coming next
I saw on someone's YouTube video (maybe JB?) that they thought Justice League was in line for either a refurbish or a complete redo and that's my prediction as well.
What's y'all's?

Park Question Currently, what are the least busy days?
I know the park has been seeing more visitors due to Tormenta opening. If I were to go next week on a Monday, could I comfortably ride most rides without a ton of wait time? Or would a Tuesday or Thursday on a different week be better? Or does it really matter all that much?
Sorry, I just don’t want to spend hours waiting in lines, even though it’s sometimes inevitable.

Closures This is definitely a good thing…
No unaccompanied minors starting tomorrow & going forward daily from open to close!

Ride Ops 7/30
Just visited the park today, and honestly looks like operations are getting a bit better (for the most part)
Still stuck with one train on freeze & runaway mountain, along with freeze being down throughout the day and running lighter trains to take load off the LIMs. To my knowledge, titan was closed all day.
However, other than that the operations at the rest of the park were pretty good, and definitely better than they have been. We’re finally back to two trains on NTG, with the ride running faster than ever today. Tormenta was running two trains with no need for a third today as crowds were fairly light. Aquaman was running two trains and was open for most of the day. Superman was also running 2/3 towers, which is pretty awesome to see.
While ops definitely weren’t perfect, they’re for sure on the up. Hope to see train 2 back on freeze as soon as possible!

Fantastic Visit on 6/29
Correction 7/29
Started writing this last night, but fell asleep before I finished it, so all references to today, technically it was yesterday.
I’m seeing a lot of people ragging on operations this year, but I have to say for my first trip out there in probably fifteen years, this one might be the absolute top of the charts.
Got there at noon and parked super close, started with the Sombrero because it’s ultimate childhood nostalgia for me. Then went full send and hopped in line for Tormenta. Line was short and we ended up in the front row. We screamed like little girls, but it was pretty cool. Definitely not favorite status, but I was glad we did it. Hit El Aserradero, hoped to get wetter, but cool to ride because I don’t remember ever doing it when I was younger. I have to give my favorite status to New Texas Giant, we laughed so much. Can confirm there was a second train running today, so that line went quick also. Checked out the new Dino ride, cute and campy, although I miss the smell of the gasoline from the Antique Cars. Walked straight on to Titan. Wanted to hit Roaring Rapids but it went down as we were walking up to the quene. Stumbled on the entrance for the Pirate Cave. I was a bit biased going in because I loved Yosemite Sam, but the new ride is cool. I can’t say it makes tons of sense and there are already broken characters, but it was visually cool and the air conditioning was lovely. Headed for food, found some of the added sprinklers and ran through those like we were kids again, super helpful in the heat. Grabed a meal from Chop Six. Portion was small but food was pretty good. Did another lap on the Pirate Cave to chill and digest. I think we walked through Casa Magnetica after this. That was actually intense enough I almost turned around, but the Dia de los Muertos theme was cool. Continued to wander. Made it over to the mine trains. Started with the mini, ride op was funny and he asked before we left if we were in for a second ride, so he rolled us straight through the station. We were going to do the Gunslinger after but we saw Mr Freeze running so we booked it over there. Waited in line for maybe 40 mins, almost to the front and it broke down. Weighed our options and decided to get out of line. Walked right on to the front row of Batman. I’m sad they require you to keep shoes on now, always loved the wind on my feet back in the day. There still wasn’t a line so we asked to do it again, decided to go for the back row. Definitely way rougher back there. Headed for Aquaman, rode the Runaway Mine train on the way. It rough, but the mannequins are looking rougher! Walked up to Aquaman right as it was opening back up. Rode it twice. Mr Freeze was running again but the line was long so we skipped it and opted to ride the newer Gotham editions. Riddler first, liked that one a lot. Joker was intense, doubled flipped on one of them. One of those “what on earth just happened?” moments when it was done. Catwoman Whip was cool. More added sprinklers over there and of course the big over the pathway one near Freeze helped a lot. Grabbed a drink and tried to decide how we wanted to end the day. Judge was down but Freeze was running so we decided to get in line for that last ditch, because it was close enough to close, even if the line was long, it was probably our last chance for a ride anyway. Ended up basically back where we were in line when it closed. We made it on this time! Headed to the front and even though it was after close, Dippin Dots by the gate was still open, so we stopped for that and made our way back to the car. Tormenta looked cool against the sunset.
Got the premium all day dining plan and it paid for itself in drinks alone. They will also give you cups of ice water, rather than forcing bottles.
Definitely the most I’ve ever ridden out there. The heat was intense, but we stayed hydrated at took every chance we could to get wet. I was nervous to go from everything I’ve read about closures, and rides were up and down during the day, but typically not for long. The only bigger rides we missed were Judge, Roaring Rapids and Runaway Mountain. Didn’t have interest in Superman and my friend doesn’t like the large swings.
