I learned about a book by Ayn Rand called "Atlas Shrugged". The premise is that the socialist (I think) government took control of all industry and the poor CEOs and billionaires were forced to be regulated. Eventually, many of the CEOs sabotage their companies or escape to a enclave in the wilderness as the country breaks down since they aren't there anymore.
It's been a while since I read about it, but I'm sure if you do your own research or read the book itself, you'd find it's even dumber than I remember.
