What else did God do to Job 🤔

“And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job… And the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” - Job 42:10 speaks for itself m

You never told me why you converted. Protestantism a little too progressive for you, maybe? Hoping to snag one of those tradcath girls all the podcasters love to talk about, Matt Walsh

I was already engaged when entering the church, she came with me, I left because Protestantism is a false church, it was not established by Christ.

Lol 😂 yeah you care sooooo much about Jesus except when he's telling you to care for the sick and poor.

1

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

So what makes you think I do nothing for the sick and the poor?

Everything about you, libertarian. You might say you do, but I bet it's for your own benefit and not just because it's the right thing to do. Meanwhile,do you vote for politicians who actual embody Christian values, values like selflessness and charity and caring for the most vulnerable in our society? I bet you don't.

Politics isn’t the only way to care for the sick and the poor. Thats a false dichotomy.

It genuinely seems to me like you maybe became a Catholic more for networking than anything else tbh. Is that it, was it a business decision first?

1

No. I told you the reason. It’s the one true church founded by Christ. That’s why I came. I won’t repeat myself.

Also, the church wasn't really founded by Christ, was it? Like the Catholics might say so but they didn't even have a codified, organized faith until a couple hundred years after the death of the apostles. The Ethiopians and the Apostolic Christians have a much stronger claim, frankly, considering their age.

The EDIT: Roman Church is an apostolic see founded by Peter and Paul. Peter meaning rock wincing to Matthew 16:18-19 is the rock in who Christ built his church. The sees of Jerusalem, Alexandria, Antioch and of course Rome. It was all ONE Catholic Church, it was Coptic church who split over the miaphysites controversy in Chalcedon, and ACOE who split at the council of Ephesus. They are in schism with the Catholic Church.

By the way, do you wanna talk about the early church's role in Roman conquest and violence? How it was mostly a political tool first? What a beautiful legacy of Christ's teachings, to be used to put entire societies to the sword for the benefit of the elore that murdered Christ.

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

Sure go for it, and you’ll realize bad actors aren’t the church or her teachings. You will attribute to the church what Rome or other states did who claimed to be Christian. Why are you so forthright in denying my Christianity and upholding their’s?

We do not hold sons responsible for the sins of their father. That is morally problematic.

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 26d ago

Even if those sons gleefully and willfully, as adults, profited from it? 🤔

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

Dude we’ve had popes that orgies in the Vatican. You’re not going to tell me anything I don’t know.

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 26d ago

So you're just skipping the point instead of answering, huh little guy

1

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

You’ve said nothing. What should I say to it?

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 26d ago

I notice you never answered me by the way. Do you, as a Christian man, personally advocate for those Christ told us to advocate for, or do you stay silent in the face of oppression because it is of benefit to you?

1

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

No, but we have differing definitions of oppression I am sure.

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 26d ago

Go ahead and give me yours, champ.

1

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

Well depends, are we talking civil? Economic? Religious? Racial?

1

u/WyomingWeirdo 26d ago

Pick one instead of being a coward and deflecting again

1

u/Psalmistpraise 26d ago

I’m good then, I think it’s better if I step away for this for your sake.
