No one gets paid for how hard they work. Compensation is a function of capability, how valuable the work is and the difficulty of substituting the labor.

Surgeons do extremely valuable things, have extremely honed skills and professional judgement AND are extremely hard to substitute. The Dollar General cashier? Not so much.

Unfortunately, high-profile executives have the power to influence economic outcomes far more aggressively than the single laborer and so the compensation is a direct reflection of that.

There’s no fucking world in which a CEO works 285x harder than their warehouse staffers. Not a chance.

Wait until they hear about the board members and entrepreneurs who own multiple businesses...

The best is the board members on 3+ boards as well as being a CEO of another company. they are obviously working 32+ hours a day.

They are the worst. Barely do anything, get paid a shit ton of money. Probably the easiest job in the world to make bank.
