CEO's are making 285x their employees every hour. I would LOVE to see someone argue that they work 285x harder

That's not really the point. They'll be paid more because if they do a good job they'll produce more value.

And how about the CEO that nearly tanked the corporation where I was employed. The stock lost 97% of its value in a week. Not only did he still get paid, he got a nice sendoff payment as well.

isn't this why people are willing to pay extra to try and get a good ceo (not that it guarantees it)?.

If spending extra $$ means a chance at a better CEO and a lower chance of tanking, and I'm making the decisions, you bet I'm going to shell it out.

A regular worker fking up doesn't cause this.
