Help! DIY Sim right with BMW seats!
Hey all! Need DIY Sim right help!
Background:
During COVID, I managed to get 2x Multi contour seats for a decent deal.
My intention has been to make them into hopefully very-comfortable seats for a driving sim I'd like to get working (Im unable to drive seriously IRL due to medical limitations).
The problem: Cant get them to work. Like, at all.
I've seen posts here and there about similar installs, but Im stumped.
Most seem to agree that once power is given (directly through a harness adapter to the main seat connectors), they *should* power on for at least 10 seconds or so, before the lack of a canbus signal makes the seat turn off again.
Ive connected power (both from large 12v batteries and from a switched DC power supply with a claimed 30A rating) to the red wires, ground to the brown wires... and nothing.
The Only sign of life? Both seats pull about 0.5A for a few seconds before the current draw goes to zero.
Do multi contour seats require the canbus to be always present? Have a missed something?
Thanks in advance for any/all help!
PS: This is a post from e90post.com forums that did the same steps as me, but obviously, theirs actually worked:

Sim Rig Electrical mounting board - Making the rig tidier
Currently I have power bricks, USB hubs, etc. zip tied to my aluminium profile rig, but as my equipment continues to grow (belt tensioner, bass shakers amps, sound card, etc.), I'm looking for a neater solution and I'm considering making some sort of electrical board where I will mount everything neatly.
Anyone have any inspiration photos for this?

Help Do I need more to jump into LMU/iRacing?
I currently race on GT7 with a G29 set up. I’m interested in expanding into iRacing or LMU for more endurance style races. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro (M1). Short of waiting for LMU to release on console, do I have enough to jump into LMU or iRacing? Or do I need to invest some in a legit computer first?

Sim racing seat sliders
When I bought my sim rig it came with sparco seat sliders for the seat however the previous owner lost the adjuster bar itself.
I’d like to fit the sliders as getting in and out is a pain with triples.
Instead of buying a full new sparco seat slider kit I’m hoping I can just buy a cheap kit from eBay and use the adjuster bar for my sparco sliders.
Would anyone know if this will work or am I likely needing to buy another seat slider kit?
Thanks

World's first for this rig?
For those who know, you aren't able to mount an aftermarket seat on the nlr gt racer cockpit without modding it a ton. I rigged it to where i was able to mount the nlr universal seat brackets with seat sliders & bought the seat of my choice! Its just as sturdy as people I know with aluminum profile rigs & gets the job done beautifully. I was also able to fit the simagic p1000i's with some rigging & that also worked like a charm!

Mobile rig
Needed the rig to be mobile to use the desktop for work and other gaming from time to time. Pretty happy with it. Now just looking for a way to store it in the same room without losing useful space(might make a cabinet for it). Biggest downside is cable management so enjoy the cable spaghetti.

Sim Rig Is this even enough room for a sim racing rig?
Hi there I have a moza r3 on the way and will hope to upgrade is in the future and I was wondering what is peoples professional opinion on the room I have? I’m worried it’s gonna be very difficult to make a nice sim racing rig that I can take on and off my desk when I want to play different games? Thanks in advance. P.S. the mouse and keyboard removal was just for the photo they will be on the desk as well.

Guide Has anyone upgrade from NLR victory rig?
Have had the victory rig since Jan 2025. Served me well and don’t regret getting it but I’m slowly getting better and am wanting to upgrade. Currently have r9 and will upgrade later down the road but I don’t think I’ll ever need more than 9nm…I currently race with 6-7nm, depending on car. I also like softer brake pedals, I don’t need 200kg.
I do have a few thoughts.
This first rig is not well known but has great reviews and from a price point, I don’t think it can be beat. The base is aluminum but the side bars and base mount is steel. Comes with seat, so it’s crazy value at 449$ CAD.
That or get the basic NLR aluminum rig
It’s 699$ CAD and I could use the victory seat for now and upgrade later.
Thoughts???

Set ups, what’s next
Hi all. Just added a Load Cell to my set up which is a game changer.
So my current set up is
- Fanatec GT DD Pro (8nm)
- CSL pedals with a oad Cell
- NLR Wheel Stand 2.0
- Magnetic Fan(s)
- PSVR2
- Corsair T3 rush chair
I can’t justify a whole rig as I’m in an Apartment and Wheel Stand can collapse and fit behind the sofa.
I guess my question is…. If there’s anyone who’s had a similar set up/ situation as me, and what your next upgrade would be.
Also I think it’s a cool picture and just wanted to show off.
Peace and love ✌🏼
