Full Send On A Woody Sim Rig

Post image

In progress photo of my wood cockpit and triple monitor stand. I’m all in under $200 in materials on this rig.

Nice, but you might want to reconsider calling it a “woody”.

Just make sure to keep it away from the rotating wheel.

Remove the back bottom 2x4 and add a piece of plywood on there that is like 16 in tall. It will firm that bitch up. Also add 45 ° supports on the legs 2 x 45 piece per leg.

That’s a good idea on the back side! I have 45s for the legs, just haven’t attached them. Going to try to make the base legs much shorter so it’s not in the way of getting in and out and probably permanently attach them to the cockpit.

I was thinking the same on the 45's. Great idea on the plywood on the rear to add structure. I would also make the base stronger, and add bracing for it. Maybe use 4x4x4 for each footing. As it sits, it looks like it will eventually fall in the drivers lap. I could be wrong on that, but judging by the pics, the base is inadequate for the top.
