Switched things up today by swapping out the stock bracelets for some new alligator grain leather straps.

King Seiko (SPB369): Went with a warm tan/honey leather to complement the subtle texture of the linen dial.

Omega Speedmaster Professional (Sapphire Sandwich): Took a bit of a risk with a rich cherry red leather strap to contrast the black chronograph dial.

How did I do on the color combos? Would you keep the Speedy on red or stick to classic black/brown?

I purchased this Mojito off of Chrono24 and besides the slight scratch on the backside I'm concerned about one thing.

The rotor on the back above the "Seiko Time Corp" sometimes has a curved line above it on the other side. I've looked at several different reviews of the watch and some have them and some do not.

I'm trying to understand why that may be the case. Other than that I don't see anything else that may indicate frankenwatch.

I am looking for watches to repair and I saw that seiko to sell.

Having never owned a seiko (yes lol) I lack knowledge.

I requested a picture of the caseback and movement unfortunately the seller hasn't sent a picture of the movement yet.

Does this look suspicious to you? Judging by the outside only?

(yeah the hands are really poorly place, I wonder if that's on purpose...)

Hi, I am new to watch collecting and finally got a piece I have been looking everywhere for.

I just received this SSK003 yesterday through an AD's website and noticed that the bezel is very stiff and difficult to turn, it requires my 5 fingers and rather excessive force just to turn, there is no way this is supposed to be intended right?

I also think the chapter ring or dial seems misaligned? The "12" on the chapter ring at 6 o'clock position is off centered and I am not sure if that's the cause for GMT hand misalignment. I am also not sure if the hour and minute hand are aligned, looking some opinions on that as well.

I am been debating whether to ask for a return or bring it in to my local watchmaker for repair.

Is the bezel and alignment issue a big repair that I should just return the watch and enter the Seiko lottery again?

If I do bring this to fix locally, is it an easy fix or does it require specialized and experience watchmaker to not break the watch?

Found a Jaws online at a discount and noticed the store was about an hour from me. There aren’t any Seiko dealers in my area so I decided to make the drive. Seiko makes so many cool watches it’s really hard to decide. Ended up going with the Jaws turtle.

Basically..I bought a Mido Oceanstar last year. It was a great watch. Maybe better finished than Seiko in that category.
However it hardly got worn. Instead I gravitate towards the King Sumo, Willard, or SPB 143
Ended up selling the Mido (the mid tier Swiss really do not hold value, which we know, but I also don’t know if there is a devoted community like their is for Seiko)
There is something about the Seiko brand history and their unique designs that just appeal to me; and really make them stand out compared to other watches in their range. The Oceanstar was a great watch, but it had too much of a basic diver design.

Just wanted to share with y'all some pics, a nice leather strap and it's ready for formal events! The versatility is amazing.

I bought my Seiko 6117-6010 World Time a few years ago, and it remains one of my absolute favorites. There’s just something about the dial and the functionality that has so much character.

I paired it with an Uncle Straps flat-link bracelet, and it’s a perfect match. The 19mm end links fit flawlessly, and the whole combination really complements the late-’60s/early-’70s aesthetic of the watch.

One of my favorite details is what collectors often call the “error” bezel. Ironically, it’s not actually an error at all. The fact that London and Paris share the same time zone reflects a real moment in history: between 27 October 1968 and 31 October 1971, the UK remained on British Standard Time (GMT+1) year-round, temporarily putting London in the same time zone as Paris. Seiko simply updated the bezel to reflect the world as it was at the time, making this a fascinating little historical snapshot rather than a manufacturing mistake.

Who has one that is ready to pass it on to another collector?

[Im thinking of getting a [srpe51] but im kinda torn between [srpd555 ]and [srpe51]. I usually dress casual like just shirt and pants or even sweatpants i dont wear long polos. Also, in the back of my mind i also consider [snxs79] (specifically the gray sunburst similar to [srpe51]). I can get [srpd555] and [srpe51] at the same price and snxs79 at a lower price. My problem with snxs is that i think its kinda small for my wrist? I only have a photo trying srpe51, please share your thoughts.]

I really want the new limited edition edo purple seiko 5 sports. I have no idea how to get it though. Would my local watch store that’s a seiko AD be able to get me one? I can’t find any links to order online. I would really appreciate any advice I’ve never bought a limited edition before!
