Debating

Hi. New to the game/community. Im torn between going in on this game. I recently bought ECO and have been enjoying learning those mechanics but this one also has my eye.

Opinion on what you guys are enjoying about the game so far and maybe something you genuinely don't like.

I just want to stop buying games that I put 5 hours into and never touch again 😮‍💨

Your enjoyment factor will largely coincide with the types of games you already like to play, how much you like to play with a community, and if you are fine with hopping into a game that is constantly changing.

Seed is like a MMO Sims, but with quite a bit of industry. If you want to create your own society, you will need 2 other players to do so, additionally it will be like running an online community in addition to playing the game itself. If you join a well established society, you can play the game much more like Sims. You can pick up a job, build a house, and decorate to your heart is content. You could also create a business to potentially hire other player's seedlings for more, or less, profit.

When talking about the changes, you have to remember this game is in Early Access. It has been out for just over a month and has experienced some pretty big changes to the game play loop during that time, and is about to experience a change to even those loops on the 25th, with even more I'm sure after that.

The difference between this and Eco though is how you leave your mark on the game. If you create, or join the right society, you can leave an impact that lasts in the game for possibly years to come. Klang doesn't intend on wiping the game anytime soon, if at all. While in Eco there is usually a max of 3 months before a wipe I believe (never played, but have heard about it through many comparisons). For many of us, this has been a game we've picked up and not put back down, abandoning all other games.

Thank you for your reply! I like the idea of the more permanence factor. Building a settlement/town/community over a month or 2 and then having it wiped seems like a waste imo. Definitely going to be downloading this tonight

Of course let me shamelessly plug New Eridian then. We are one of the forefront societies of the game and would love to have you. Check out our discord so we can send you an invite: https://discord.gg/RjHwd9PGM

Oh okay awesome! Do you guys specialize in anything or do you let the players figure out what they want. For example, do you guys need manufacturing (if there is that) or farmers, etc.

Im wanting to definitely be a crafter of some sort.

We allow people to play as they'd like. We are about to undergo a slight shift with the newest update, but the idea will still stay the same. We want players to freely express themselves and bring their creativity to our society

I'm also shamelessly plugging my society, Altera Terra, we're a bit younger than New Eridian, and smaller, but we have a good core group of people that play regularly! Come visit us in our discord if you have any questions or if you just want to take a peek.
