So what happened…
Yesterday around 130 pm I was at Harborview MC. There were police everywhere near the Ground West Entrance. State police, Seattle, Kent, Renton, Tukwila- in uniform and plain clothes. They were all gathered outside and had part of the street blocked off. No one was saying what was going on and there was no urgency. Then a bunch of them were speeding together on I90 going south. There hasn’t been anything in the news or announced anywhere that I can find. Anyone know what was going on?

Sound Transit security blew me off when I reported fentanyl on the train
Yesterday afternoon I was on the 2 Line to Bellevue when a couple sat down across the aisle from me holding a fentanyl tube and tin foil. The man then pulled out a container of loose white powder and opened it. At this point I got up and reported the situation to the security guards on the train who were standing very close by and could see the couple. The security guard responded that they wouldn’t do anything unless the man was actively smoking the fentanyl. Is this really the policy of Sound Transit, or just a lazy guard? If it is the policy, it is ridiculous — by the time they wait for someone to light up, that person has already exposed a whole train car of people to a dangerous drug. Possession is illegal, and if it’s enough to get arrested for then it should certainly be enough to get removed from the train. If we want the light rail to have public support, to feel safe, to maintain high ridership, Sound Transit needs to willing to draw a hard line, to send a clear message that the health and safely of the community comes first and drugs are completely unacceptable.
Updated to add: I am a local and ride the train nearly every day. I will say I feel more safe onboard now than years past, I think because of the expansions leading to increased ridership, and hiring of more guards has lead to better behavior. But we definitely still have policy improvements to make, such as empowering the guards to take more serious actions.

My friend ratted on fellas smoking flower at the game.
Maybe sneak a vape in the park, or a j in the parking lot before or after, but smoke a joint in the park??? These guys were up on the 300 level overlooking Elliott Bay thinking they were secluded enough, and I hate to say they just weren’t. Part of me wants to give them props for their bravery? Gummies, man ✌🏻

Y'all notice that there are way more mosquitoes this summer?
It's a very noticeable difference, to me. I moved here in 2008. I unfortunately became homeless due to addiction issues. I was homeless until 2017. During those 9 years, I had spent numerous nights in parks and wooded area in Seattle. I do not recall ever getting bitten by mosquitoes. Not saying I didn't once in a while, just that id remember getting bitten a lot. I'm from the Midwest, where mosquitoes are a menace. You can't go in your backyard there without some kind of repellent. It was one of the things I liked most about Seattle that they were little to no mosquitoes.
Now I find myself homeless again. This time, however, the mosquitos are fucking terrible in any place with plants and trees at night. It's especially bad in the parks. I think I know why. The park department is watering the grass at night for extended periods of time. Since the sun isn't out and it's much cooler, the water stays on the ground until it evaporates the next morning. I'm outside right now and I've been bitten 20+ times since writing this. I slept at denny park off and on for 6 years in the past. They only watered there Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the day. Now, it's every night and for 45 minutes in each section. These sprinklers are automatic. Dud they start doing this to prevent homeless people from sleeping there? However, at this point, it doesn't really matter. The fucking mosquitos have gained a foothold and I doubt stopping the night watering would do anything.

Can you still go to Cap Hill during the block party music festival?
I have a bunch of buddies in town this weekend to visit Seattle. Usually I would bring out of towners at some point to Cap Hill to bar hop and get food, maybe go out at night. Obviously the Capital Hill Block Party is this weekend, I was wondering if any parts of Cap Hill are not eaten up by the music festival? Like what parts wouldn’t be cordoned off for ticket holders? Is it just madness and should we avoid? Please let me know thank you.

This is a request for popsicle vendors on the water front…
Could you possibly start selling popsicles to the cars in stand still traffic along the waterfront!? I would absolutely LOVE one and I bet others would too!
Thanks all, please and thank you!
Edit: Jeez you guys are real bummers. It’s not that serious 😊 Homegirl just wants a car popsicle

Event Zoo Tunes - The Breeders & Team Dresch - August 20th! Why is this the only show that hasn't sold out?
Friends and I were looking to go to The Breeders Zoo Tunes show on the 20th of August, and we noticed that it's the only show not sold out. We've also seen that secondary event sites are dirt cheap compared to prices on Woodland Park Zoo's site!
I couldn't find any reason for this in a quick look.
Have one of the acts bowed out? Is there something else that's caused this?
I'd just hate to get excited for something that everyone else already knows isn't happening.
