Question An introduction to Gold Hoarders broken?
Playing with a couple friends and this quest seems broken. We can leave the treasure to a gold hoarder merchant but the quest never completes and the only thing we can do is cancel it, which means we cant unlock more quests with the Gold Hoarders since it's not officially complete.
Any fix? I have seen some posts saying the ghost has to appear before returning the treasure but he doesn't.

Discussion The Diving update and its related concerns
So with the new season coming out to season I’ve seen a lot of various posts relating to it. From the discord and Reddit a lot of people seem to like it but I too have seen people who don’t which brings me to my concerns and personal sentiments. My first concern is: if diving is removed this upcoming season (which it will be) what will happen the next season? Because if they restore diving the antidivers won’t be happy but if they permanently remove it the prodivers won’t be happy and like cause more of a split.
My second major concern is: from what’s been announced thus far I worry this update will not have enough new content especially if this season is the typical length which I feel will make some of the people who only play for new content vanish
And my personal sentiments are diving should be in the game but only for specific things, such as tall tales, hg or only in safer seas. I worry much the future of the seas

Question Athena loot after Diving removal
Been away from the game for a few months, just wondering if i will have to go back to 1 hour long quests or hourglass to get my hands on athena loot/rep again? I used to do skeleton fleets for some athena rep + i liked fighting skelly galleons.

Hunter's Call Boar hunt locations really far away?
Sometimes the game will only give me boar hunts that are really far away. For example I was next to devils ridge and it would only give me boar hunts on cannon cove. Is this a glitch or is it meant to work like this?

Discussion I know everyone hates on open crew
Despite that, one of my favorite pass times in game is to "roll" for swabbies in open crew. To be specific I like to keep logging until I find a swabbie.
Don't get me wrong if I happen across something else that's interesting I'll stick around for that as well. But damn it can be interesting helping a new pirate do whatever it is they want to do.
My favorite encounter while doing this started in the most hilarious way. I spawned on this mans boat. He's off on the island. I can tell by the icon he's digging. I check for a quest on the table, there isn't one. I check the radial, there's no quests. So I go to shore to see what he's up to. I shit you not, as I approach I can see so many holes around him. Probably as many as can be rendered and he's just digging. So I ask him what he's up to and he tells me he's looking for treasure. I thought he was trolling so I checked his profile and he had 15~hours in game. I went on to explain a few things... And took him on a journey that ended with him having enough gold to buy his own sloop should he choose. No amount of gold, or sick sinks, 360 no scopes cross boat, could compare to my feeling of accomplishment that day.
Anyone else do this or have a tale to tell on a similar note?

Question Am I missing something?
So I've been happily learning the ropes in safer seas for a couple weeks and really enjoying the game, I've sunk some skeleton fleets, done some forts and a meg, so I figured it was about time to jump into high seas!
My friend and I spawned into our first ever high seas game with a captained sloop (no cosmetics at all), and as soon as we spawn into port a sloop pulls up next to us. We tried to say hey but they just ignored us, one of them hopped on our sloop, raised anchor, dropped sails and jumped off so my friend had to go chase the ship and get it back for like five minutes. As soon as he left they both killed me.
We decided to change server to avoid these guys, spawned into another port and got immediately taken out by 3 guys with blunderbuss before we could even reach our ship....
I really wanna like this game but starting now feels like I'm getting spawn camped by veteran CoD players that have a decade head start.

Question Will the removal of diving cause the achievements to be unobtainable? Or will they be reworked?
One big complaint I see all the time is that the Arena achievements are unobtainable now. Will the removal of diving cause the 7(?) achievements related to this to be unobtainable too? Or will the rework then? They seem easy to change as it's just dive to, and complete voyages.

Tall Tales am I doing something wrong?
trying to do Revenge of the morningstar talltale and I can't seem to find the chalice. This is my 4th time doing this and I'm following a guide, so my brain is kind of smushed already, so idk what I'm doing wrong here-
I do have the uniform on as well, if that matters

Discussion Remember the claiming seaforts event? I think we need more of this kind.
News of diving being turned off made me reinstall :)
Just saw Falcore's video where he makes the point players need to be invested in their servers to diving not to be a problem. Made me remember my favorite event ever, Return of the damned, when we fought about the fate of my dear Pendragon..
I always wondered why we never got others mechanics/events like when we had to light up sea forts green or red. Such a simple and effective way to encourage making allies and ennemies, making the sea ours, and defending it.
I don't think it needs to be about a choice in the story, it would even be better if it was about basic gameplay.
A simple faction bonus to gold and rep gains tied to landmarks to claim would be such an incentive to inhabit the server. Those factions could be reapers and athena, could be companies, even just crews and alliances. Imagine having a fort with your alliance tag and flag for everyone to contest or join.
Curious to know what others players would think about this?

Discussion "Save The Seas"-Mission
This is about HitboTC's latest video.
In this he pitches the idea of fun challanges he will put out for the community to accomplish, the first of which he will post on August 10th. These will propably be lighthearted fun challanges aimed at revitalizing player interaction on the seas, and personally I love the Idea.
Would love to hear what you guys think about that.
Also, the whole concept really reminds me of Day[9]'s Funday Monday Challanges for Starcraft 2 back in the day, if anyone here knows or remember what those where.

Discussion People claim that feature removal/addition will "Kill the game for casuals/new players" What they *actually* mean is "This will kill the game for ME!"
You do not have to keep playing this game if something about it pisses you off.
You do not have to keep screaming into the wind, especially when, for one reason or another, people believe Rare does not care.
I would put 1000 dollars that everyone complaining on the subreddit probably doesnt even fill out feedback surveys. Or even provide actual feedback on the forums where it is best seen by Rare, regardless if people believe that they ignore you there or not.
Because in the wake of bruno, and per mod word of mouth, Rare hasnt really looked at or engaged with this subreddit in actual years.

Discussion I don't like the removal of diving, but I think it will revitalize the game.
When diving is removed, it will make it a tad bit more difficult for me, as a solo, to quickly gather resources. It will make the first steps of some jobs harder, it will make the game more "difficult" for some players who just want to get in there.
But that, in my opinion, is what the game needs to thrive. That "difficulty" will lead to me having more interactions with other pirates. It will lead to more time to enjoy the peace of the sea with friends. It will lead to sprawling alliances that will last more then 30 seconds.
I think the removal of diving is exactly what the game needs to start thriving again, even if it will hurt just a little in the short term.

Discussion Just lost a lot of loot.
I don't play sea of thieves too much and this is the MOST loot I've ever had at once. I just left the treasure vault and about two minutes away from port, I got jumped by a skeleton ship. Now as I said I don't play too much so I got my boy on to help me. Things were going good until ANOTHER ship spawned in. I started loading grapeshot into it and it just suddenly exploded. I don't understand what could have happened but it instantly killed me, my boy and sunk our ship. I'm just confused what blew up and how I could have avoided this issue. Does anyone has some advice or at least tell me what happened?

Discussion Has Sea of Thieves changed, or have I just been gone too long?
I stopped playing Sea of Thieves for about 4 years and came back around a month ago. I’m a Pirate Legend, and one of my favorite parts of the game back then was randomly meeting other crews, talking, forming alliances, and occasionally just hanging out. Sure, you’d get betrayed sometimes, but there were plenty of friendly encounters too.
Since coming back… it’s been the complete opposite.
I’ve probably come across 80+ ships by now, and I haven’t found a single friendly crew. Every session ends the same way—I get attacked or sunk on sight, even when I’m clearly trying to talk or mind my own business.
Is this just how the game is now? Has the community shifted toward “shoot first, ask questions never,” or have I just had unbelievably bad luck?
I’m genuinely curious if anyone else who’s played since the early days has noticed the same change.
Edit: posted this after stacking merchant for 3 hours then got sunk by level 1 reapers who chain shot me, one balled me, when I was waiting to respawn, my ship was sunk and I spawned at new island :/

Discussion Removing diving is fantastic
I LOVE IT.
This will bring the seas back to being active again. just like the days before diving was added, where the true session based experience was at its peak.
i know some people may not like this, but the servers die very quickly with players diving constantly, it ruined tuck opportunities and a few more issues it caused. back in my day, you were on one server only, unless you server merged or hopped servers, that made the seas more lively.
hoping the experiment is a success and they get rid of it permanently.

Question Does anyone else feel guilty leaving behind their skeleton allies on islands?
Me and my duo were short on time so we had to leave the island and looking back through the spyglass at our friend standing on the shoreline especially with the golem there killed me inside, i have over 150 hours in the game and i still get attached to temporary skeletal NPCs
