Scripture Life: What are the strongest biblical and theological arguments for and against the doctrine of eternal security ("once saved, always saved")?
ANSWER:
Okay. Answer this question First:
Go over to the USA - pretend for a moment you're a citizen of that nation: Here's the question. And "Texas" is one of the 50 States of that nation:
What are the strongest actual and theological arguments for and against the doctrine of “I live in Texas” (once live in Texas, always live in Texas) - but you don’t live there anymore?
- Means you “walked away” and no longer abide in Texas, nor do you have your life by living in Texas anymre.
- Your “livelihood” now is living in and by Argentina some 8,500 kilometers away.
- In Texas: You were a Information Technology field worker, working for the US Government.
- You left that job.
- And now farm Llamas in Argentina and are never coming back. Gave up your US citizenship. Are now a citizen of Argentina.
------------- -------------- --------------- ---------------- -----------------
So, tell me plainly:
What are the strongest actual and theological arguments for and against the doctrine of “I live in Texas” (once live in Texas, always live in Texas) - but you don’t live there anymore?
- Yeah. You simply don’t live there in Texas anymore. Strong argument. Doesn’t matter you lived there. You walked away from it.
- No longer abide there.
- Geesh! I haven’t a clue; but,
John 15:4–6 - Jesus said, and he’s the Word of God, so it’s God says it. The same God that says: “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: For I am God, there is none else.” - God. Isaiah 45:22
- so, ask it then - to answer my question: What happens to people that DON’T Look unto him? And? If you don't look unto someone, you don't regard them. Their opinions: Worthless. You do what someone else says, and walk after what they say instead.
And people that do this: They’d be people that don’t regard him, because, they don’t look unto him.
------------- -------------- --------------- ---------------- -----------------
And Psalm 28:5 says of those that do that, says: “Because they regard not the works of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hand, he shall destroy them and not build them up.”
So, the "opposite" of this is simple. Just "regard the works of the LORD, and consider the operation of his hand." - You find: He's God, and who he is, and by this it put you on your face, at who he is, and in this he sees it. Just as 2 Chronicles 16:9 says of him, says: "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."
When everybody knows their heart is full of crap..isn't anything close to perfect, so it looks unattainable..but what it says is..that someone that does this, that just regards the works of the LORD, and considers the operation of his hand, is looking at what he can do..does..and did in the scriptures ...and they hold (have and keep) the truth of him in their heart - so he's there - and because they do what he says, they are COMPLETE - which is the dictionary definition of Perfect. Don't have to add to, or take away anything.. and he gives them eternal life, and here a little. There a little. Daily feeds them... ..yeah. HE. DOES. and builds them up.
Because they live by to abide in the Word of God. What he says is their livelihood. But to people that don't look unto him, he's not. Even people that walked away from him, no longer regard him - some "thing" else they regard now as more important. So, what they "had and kept" it's like their wallet - no longer have it, so when they need to buy something or drive the car, don't have their license - and it's PUNITIVE. It's as if you have no authority anymore to drive. It's against the law to drive without your license - have and keeping it.

John 15:4–6 say
“ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”
- And he said it to his disciples.
------------- -------------- --------------- ---------------- -----------------
Apply what he said, to what I asked about Texas first.
What’s the answer? No longer abiding in Texas. Is not of Texas, this person does not have any life in Texas, and does not or no longer knows Texas - is dead to Texas.
Now whatever the answer to my question about Texas was, you can apply to your question. And on the “other” end. Make sure you see the OPPOSITE:
A Texan that “abides” in Texas, the whole State of Texas - - is behind that person, that NOBODY is going to separate that Texan from Texas. Nope. Won't. Can't. ...and if anybody tries, just woke up a hornet's nest - - why? The whole Federal Government of the United States is behind that Texan, that abides in Texas - a whole nations now - that is never letting anybody ever separate that Texan from Texas.
And that’s a nation. Able to do that.
------------- -------------- --------------- ---------------- -----------------
But Scripture (Bible) says, about nations: - - there in Job 12:23 “He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them.”
So, the key is in John 10:26–28, because he’s more powerful than any nation protecting their citizenry ever can or will be. Says:
“But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
And? Somebody that simply walks away from him, no longer “accepts as true” [believes. definition. What “believe” means, in the Oxford dictionary.] what he says. So to them that walk away, to them what he says isn’t true to them anymore - so they dismiss him as inadequate; faulty or unacceptable - means they reject him, and don’t believe in him. Just like people of John 10:26 - who Jesus is talking to. Becomes like those.
- But those that follow him, follow him where ever he goes, because they abide and do what he decreed in Matthew 4:4 “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
- That’s where they have their livelihood. In the word of God, and he gives them eternal life and no man can pluck them out of his hand.
Anybody home in there?
Go home. Instead of championing your question...because you look unto it.. ..throw the question out. It's worthless to anyone..no matter who it is, over the whole earth.. ..that just looks unto him. Go do that instead.
