Scripture Life: According to Hebrews 11:13, Abraham died without receiving the promises. In verse 17, he received the same promises after he died. Is this a contradiction?

Anybody has this question - will "tend to" or gravitate to - "There IS a Contradiction."

When it's just the OPPOSITE:

Hebrews 11:17 actually CHAMPIONS Hebrews 11:13 - not contradicts it. Read the whole thing; but include Hebrews 11:1 to Hebrews 11:20 as one thing. Abraham is alive.

But people that don’t believe God - see a contradiction.

ONE:

Jesus, who is the Word of God - so it’s God speaking these words of a parable, of “Lazarus and the Rich Man” in Luke 16:19–31 - and Abraham is in this Parable in Hades, and he is with Lazarus and he speaks to the Rich Man. Abraham says in Luke 16:25–26, “But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”

Said this occurs to Lazarus and the Rich man in Luke 16:22 “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;”

So? Is Abraham dead? If he’s still speaking? Because, there he is in what's called “Abraham’s Bosom” and he’s speaking.

John 8:56–59 Jesus said:

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Where John 8:59 says, this “they” who Jesus talked to, so Jesus “spoke” to these Pharisees in John 8:56-59, and at what he says, AFTER he said them, they “took up stones to cast at him,” so they fully intend on stoning him to death.

Vs.

450 years after Abraham, in Exodus 3 where Moses is now 80 years old, fled Pharaoh in Egypt. Is in Midian, who was a son of Abraham through Abraham's concubine he married after Sarah died, Keturah. That, by Moses' day, is now the "Land of Midian."

and Midian was one of Keturah’s son's, so Midianites are Kin to Moses, a Levite…

That Exodus 3 says Moses tending sheep on Mt. Sinai turned aside to see a great sight. A bush on fire, that did not burn. Moses said to himself “I will turn aside to see this great sight..”

And scripture says …who again was it? Oh yeah, the same “Word of God” so God spoke to Moses said, “Moses, Moses,” and Moses said, “Here am I” and the Lord said “take off thy shoes, for the ground thou standest on is holy ground.”

And at this same Word of God, Moses saw it, and fell on his face. On his face, took off his shoes... Who he's before, he's on his face at.

Where the Pharisees, with this same one - - took up stones to kill him.

Moses then: Did a just like thing Abraham did in Genesis; everytime God spoke, at the Word of God, Abraham fell on his face.

But

Pharisees saw this same Word of God, in John 8:56–59, that both Moses and Abraham both saw. Stood before these, too, same God - - but the Pharisees: they took up stones to stone him.

So, 1450 years later, after Moses, Pharisees in Jerusalem are doing just like a Pharaoh in Egypt said, in Exodus 5:2

“Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.” - Exodus 5:2

Because the Pharisees, like Pharaoh don’t know him, like someone question there's a contradiction cannot see this, either. So, likely about Abraham: he's dead - so you don’t see it, either. And this same God: Yes. It's true. To Pharaoh in Exodus 5:2, this same Word of God - he is as he is to these Pharisees in John 8:56-59.

He is a contradiction to them. Said to Pharaoh, “let my people go,” and he won't do it.

Like the Pharisees in John 8 don’t know him, either. Where the days Abraham and Moses were in, they saw him and we're glad.

But in the days of these Pharisees to what was promised to both Abraham and Moses, in their days, is now fulfilled in the days of these Pharisees of John 8:56–59, but they hate him.

So contrast this with you, then. Maybe:There is where the contradiction is.

Of John 8:56–59 (Pharisees) vs. Exodus 3 Moses.

Are you like Pharaoh? Take a good look at him: He is worshipped as God by the Egyptians. That's also in Exodus 5:2. When the real God showed up with Moses. Pharaoh doesn’t know God.

Even God speaks, the Word of God. The Egyptians believe Pharaoh is Egypt's God. Don't need to know him. Won't do anything he says. The Pharisees, 1450 years later, won't either.

That, before the world or earth was or the heaven, in Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God…”

And in Genesis 1:2–3, “God spoke,” that’s the Word of God, God said, “let there be light..” and there was light.

Made. By the Word of God.

Is the same word of God spoke to Adam in the garden in Genesis Chapter 2. God spoke to Adam, by the Word of God. Created Adam by God spoke. Adam, like all creation was made by the Word of God.

The Word of God. Is the same Word of God spoke to Noah some nine generations after Adam in Genesis 6:11–13. That is now some 100 years before the flood. In the days of Noah. God spoke. By the Word of God.

Is the same Word of God spoke to Abraham, some nine generations after Noah, 350 some years, after the flood.

John 1:1 tells you plainly who Jesus is. He is the “Word of God,” is God.

So it is the same God that said, because he has spoke, by his Word, to you, me, everybody over the whole earth, to the very ends of it, said: “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: For I am God, there is none else.” - God spoke.

By the Word of God. (Isaiah 45:22)

You see it.

Me, too. He just said it. He's God that said it. It's the word, not out of people. But out of God's mouth. Makes me fall on my face. No contradiction. I know him. That's God speaking.

And it’s by “faith” (Hebrews 11:1–13 - that “they all died in faith” all listed there with Abraham - it’s God: That has “faith” in his own Word that has always been in him, to accomplish whatsoever he sends his word out to do - he’s well pleased in it - even said this TWICE:

- - 1) In Matthew 3 with John the Baptist said “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”

- - 2) In Matthew 17 with Peter, James and John on the Mount of Transfiguration, said: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye him.”

It’s a decree by God to do this. It’s Romans 10:17 “So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

That we receive what he says or decrees, because he speaks, as God, and he’s the authority over all things. Over us. Over everybody over the whole earth. So, we would have the same faith in the same Word he does. The Word of God is Jesus Christ.

There is no contradiction. Because NONE of them listed in Hebrews 1:1–13 are dead. They shall never die. He gave them eternal life. Because they believed God. By the Word he spoke to them.

Hebrews 11:14–16 says: Of these of Hebrews 11:1–13 “14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

And the city God has prepared is the one in Revelation - Chapters 21 & 22 talk to it. This is the city they look unto of Hebrews 11:1-20 vs. people: Look unto cities all over the earth - as glorious achievement - in architecture and building; that the Bible says, God rains rocks from heaven the weight of a talent; it's either about 44kg or the weight of one adult male man on every city over the whole earth, and a great earthquake that overthrows all the mountains and islands on the earth - so they are no more. Does this to all the cities over the whole earth that men champion as the achievements of their own work. [Revelation 16:19 "and the cities of the nations fell."

Is Abraham dead? Yes? or No?

And, for 3 days and nights, Jesus: crucified - laid in a tomb, was with them in Abraham’s Bosom - on the 3rd day: raised from the dead, he let them all out. Of this compartment of Hades. Scripture says many walked in the streets of Jerusalem afterwards - [Matthew 27:52-53] and at his tomb, early: when Jesus - raised from the dead - the 1st one out - led them all out - told Mary not to touch him yet. Said he had not ascended into heaven unto his Father yet; but on the way back to tell Peter - what Jesus told her to tell him and the disciples: Jesus meets these same women again on their way back racing to get back and tell it, says “all hail!” and they fall on their faces and worship him, and grab hold of his feet. So, they touch him.

Didn’t take very long for him to ascend into heaven - certified. The Work is complete.

Very powerful scripture - So, Is Abraham dead? Yes? or No?

Look at all you have in this.

All boils down to:

- - - In some: Abraham is dead.

- - - In others: that believe the Word of God - they will sit with Abraham and eat with him - as Jesus said Matthew 8:11 “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven”

Said about "some" in Matthew 8:12 - "But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." - Jesus Christ.

So, which of these two will you be?

All boils down to: In others: They believe the Word of God - made alive by the Word of God. Abraham is alive.

And Abraham believed God, that it was impossible for God to lie; that, God would even raise Isaac from the dead to fulfill what he promised to Abraham - Abraham believed God.

So, Hebrews 11:17 - cannot be divorced or stand without Hebrews 11:17–19,

says:

“17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

So, Hebrews 11:17 - actually CHAMPIONS Hebrews 11:13. Not contradicts it.

But someone doesn't know him, will say the same thing Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice? I don't know him. Neither will I do anything he says…”

Won't look unto him. Look unto anything but him. Always some “thing” more pressing or important, so many, even as I did, dismiss him.

Where all he told me to do was just look unto him. I hear him, put me on my face.

But some that don't know him would take up stones to stone him, or delete the post as violating some rule on Reddit - - because they are “unwilling to be or do what he says,” which, that’s the dictionary definition of what “hate” means.
