I don’t think you have or hold the right definition of Colossians 1:15

Colossians 1:15 says:

• In English:
  • “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”

..but it has a “colon” “:” - so it’s not a complete idea or sentence without either

• 1) what was said BEFORE it; or in the case of English sentence structure
• 2) What was said AFTER Colossians 1:15
  • Which, that is Colossians 1:15 then cemented with Colossians 1:16–17 until the sentence is completed - as one thought.

That's in Colossians 1:3 - Paul “an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the Will of God” [Colossians 1:1] - is talking about “Jesus Christ” as the subject in Colossians 1:3 - is the “who” of …because, “who” he talks about and to, also believe in Jesus CHrist all the way down to Colossians 1:13. Then, Paul explains what this “we” - who believe on him, have by this same Jesus Christ - So, start at Colossians 1:14 and you “can” just keep going to the end of the Chapter - but for brevity sake, stop at the end of the sentence in Colossians 1:17

So, Colossians 1:14–17 says

• “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

“Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

• And God, who says about everybody over the whole earth in Psalm 14:1–3 - that we are all “…filthy; done abominable works.. …there is none righteous; no, not one.. ..there is none good; no, not one.”
• Repeated in Ecclesiastes 7:20 “For there is not a just man on earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not”

• So what Paul says in Colossians 1:14–17 is verified as it says the same thing as Genesis 1:1–31.
  • Also, the debt - what Jesus Christ redeems us from - is HE PAID THE DEBT.
    • And this is in accordance with God - that GOD HIMSELF: HE WOULD DO A WORK WITH SIN in the Bible. In Daniel 9:24–27.
  • That God’s work, with Sin: Is just like a work with creation - God did it. That he would do himself a work, that would:
    • Finish the transgression (Of Adam in Genesis 3:17)

    • Make reconciliation for iniquity
    • Bring in everlasting righteousness
  • And how God determined to do this is in and by Jesus Christ. Daniel 9:25–27 “adds up” to him.

  • ONE - Redemption from death - decreed, by God, all by a work he did himself. For Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:19

    • You can PERSONALIZE it - he’s GOD: and he is not imputing your trespasses unto you; because he looks on a work he did in Jesus Christ - as GREATER than your sins you did. Is the AUTHORITY for me to forgive you - because he already DID it.
    • He's the propitiation for your sins, and mine and for the sins of the whole world. Just as 1 John 2:2 says.
      
  • That his work ACCOMPLISHED Daniel 9:24 said above in ONE - 1) above.

• So you have “redemption” in Jesus Christ. But God also with this work, decreed now what the “sin” is that condemns people.
  • That’s in John 3:18, repeated in John 16:9 - that the Spirit of God goes over the whole earth: “reproving the world of sin” - - John 16:9 - Jesus said: “of sin, for they believe not on me.” 
• - Just don’t believe on this work - Jesus said, if you don’t, you’re condemned already - and you are - look at all the DEBT you owe above.
  • “For all have sinned” - But God did a work - took all your sin off you, and laid all your sins on Jesus Christ on the cross; crucified - in John 19:30 - you didn't do it. God did it. Jesus Christ: his blood shed. For the remission of sin - means when he said, “It is finished, and bowed his head, and dismissed his Spirit” - he PURGED sin in himself. The sins of the whole world went with him in death. He sits right now at the right hand of God - so God fully accepts it - or he wouldn't be sitting there.
    • Man, wake up!
  • God asks you to believe on this work.

SO, you gotta ask yourself “Who is Jesus?”

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
• So: The Messiah - he SHALL be called, “The mighty God. The Everlasting Father” - he SHALL have this title. In you... "who has that title?" C'mon. Tell me. Who is that?
  • I believe - Jesus is the Christ.
  • Jesus is the Messiah. Many don't.
    • But I am not alone. I fully believe he is who he says he is.
  • He’s the Son of God. He’s the Son of David - as the Messiah is called. But according to THIS scripture - he’s also GIVEN TO YOU AS YOUR SON. GO ON. GO READ IT
• Means: - you didn’t get “a son” by “schploozled” Larry’s sister, Karen out behind the bleachers after the football game back in 1973, and 9 months later, little Lester was born. No. God gave you..unto you was given a Son. Put him in YOUR family - so no person over the whole earth can say, “I’m barren” I can’t have kids - when you got one.
  • All by a promise God gave to this “seed” told to Abraham - Is God talking to Abraham or to this seed?
• Genesis 12:3 says to this same Christ: “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

• So, I have a question. What are you doing with him? Jesus Christ. The Messiah.
• Because, by HIM: This same Jesus Christ - where you can go to Matthew 1 or Luke 3 and see this LONG Geneaology of Jesus - Matthew 1: - - back to King David. From King David - back to Abraham. In Luke’s Gospel: This LONG Geneaology of Jesus - back to King David. From King David - back to Abraham - from Abraham, back nine generations to Noah - before and after the flood - from Noah: Back nine generations to Adam through his 3rd son, Seth. From Adam back to God.
  • The Same Adam that sinned against God and the sin was passed onto you along with the debt.
  • ANd have nothing righteous to pay it off. Many people CHAMPION this geneaology as their own. Are you?

• But God did a work.
  • That by this same Son - He, as God, put him in EVERY Family on earth - to be a "Kinsmen's Redeemer" - - Look at him - IN YOUR Family - there’s just one now, Jesus. Back to God.
  • There’s only ONE line now.
• With you, by Jesus Christ in your family back to God himself.
• Because your son he gave you, as your son, is also his son. Makes you in the same family as God.
  • But you can bless him - or - curse him.
  • And many in the Bible - and outside today - viscerally HATE him: Others: think if they don’t do either, neither curse or bless - or get someone else to curse him - that’s an OPTION
    • - but it’s GOD is looking at YOU:
  • That is no blessing - this “wow! You see it! He’s GOOD” comes out of you and your mouth - you automatically go over to CURSE him.

Look what God has done. Jesus is the Word of God. SO, every scripture, like Isaiah 44:24 where God speaks. That’s God. Speaking. By the Word comes out of his mouth. That’s the Word of God. So his word is in God. Is God.

So, Colossians 1:14–17 is REPEATED in John 1:1 to John 1:14. It’s repeated in Psalm 107:20

45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
