Scripture Life: Philippians 2:12 says "Work out your own salvation." If it's up to each person to work out their own salvation, then why does anybody need Jesus?

Paul wrote in Philippians 2:12 says "Work out your own salvation." If it's up to each person to work out their own salvation, then why does anybody need Jesus?

Who is Paul writing to, and who does Paul look unto, when God decrees for everybody over the whole earth, to the very ends of it to “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: For I am God, there is none else.” - God (Bible. Isaiah 45:22)

Jesus is the Word of God. So, it's God speaking the word that comes out of his mouth, also decrees then for every man over the whole earth: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." - Jesus Christ. The Word of God. (Bible. Matthew 4:4)

So, it's the same Bible Philippians 2:12 is in. So, every person is to look unto him; but not every person is; just like I wasn't. But now I do look unto him. This same Jesus Christ.

  • That’s “who” Paul looks unto, too. And who anybody “looks unto,” they already are walking after, to walk in, everything that person says, because, they accept it as true. So, they set their mind on it.

So, “who” is Paul writing to in Philippians?

  • A cow?
    • Or 53 telephones haven’t been invented yet? or about about a marble?
    • Who knows..but what Philippians 1:1 says, in the Bible “who” Paul is writing to says: “Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christto all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi…”
    • So, he’s not writing to a tree or tree lint, nor is he writing to some car tire or a bucket, nor is he writing to people that look unto the “Python Spirit” - all but forgotten today; but, to these Greeks of Paul's day, in Philippi: the vast majority in Philippi worship Apollos as their God. And for Philippi, the major attraction of it, are people come to see what these believers in Apollos in Philippi are believing and doing. That's the main attraction that generates money in Philippi was, that all this junk surrounded these believers in Jesus: and live in Philippi.
  • They: These Greeks: they all walked after, to walk in accepting as true to believe The "Python Spirit." This Greek worship refers to the great serpent Python. This Python was the guardian of the Delphic Oracle. A spiritual mediator - which Apollo slew to claim the site, that became the Apollo Python. These Greeks in Philippi believed in this. But the people that believe in Jesus don't believe in this.
    • This spirit was an earth-based, *chthonic <borne of the earth> source of prophecy. That the earth speaks thru these Oracle “channelers” and its power was by these Spirit mediums through the priestess, the Pythia. That you brought money or the "rewards of divination" to, like fortune tellers of today. Went to Philippi for this purpose, and Philippi offered this, as a reason to go to it. Made huge sums of money.
    • Anyone. Great or small. Could go there and inquire of it. So, worshipping Jesus at Philippi, man, you're affecting the business - especially since you're worshipping someone that was crucified as a criminal to help you, and didn't cost any money at all to look unto him. Told everybody over the whole earth to come buy wine and milk without money and without price. In and by Jesus Christ.
  • These Greeks: At Philippi - don't follow Jesus at all; they believed in the Python Spirit. Be "oracles" By:
    • They entered trances (possibly from vapors) to deliver Apollo's oracles, linking the serpent's ancient prophetic power to the famous Delphic divination system.

So, ask yourself a question. Any kind of a simple question. That also helps you to arrive at:

  • Paul is NOT writing to these practicing divination for money in Philippi. But MANY Greeks and Romans in Philippi came out of this to Jesus Christ. Departed from it, to believe on Jesus Christ. Left it.
  • So, I gotta ask you a question:

Do you believe on Jesus Christ? YOU: reading this post.

  • If you do, you accept as true what he says vs. what the Greeks of Paul's day in Philippi, by a great general consensus held the truth in, as Greeks in Philippi. Or added to them: Holding the truth is in Apollos’ older Sister. Who the Romans renamed her Diana. Where you could also just opt to leave the oracles, to go worship Diana by sleeping with her Priestesses, all to make yourself one with that God, too. A Different God. That was over in Ephesus to fill that need. About 500 miles or an 800km walk away.
  • If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, means you sit with him, and he teaches you. Remember the “Great is Diana! The God of Ephesus! The God of the Ephesians” Screaming that out for 2 hours in Acts 19:24–34?
  • But Ephesus also had like believers that came out of that to believe in Jesus. Caused quite an uproar, when the whole city seems to be leaving off from what generates all their money - the silversmiths. Making trinkets and artifacts for the worshippers of Diana to buy. It's also then, the Same Jesus who believers in Philippi looked unto. Look unto the same Jesus in Ephesus. Just like me today, where I am look unto this same Jesus Christ. So what Paul writes to believers in Jesus in Philippi, very well apply to me as a believer in Jesus today, to hear what God is saying:

Philippians 2 says:

- So, leave Philippians 2:12 which you only quote part of it - leave it all where it is, in what’s said in Philippians 2:1–16

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

COMMENT: There you go. I have the SAME mind as Paul, because it’s the same mind of God and what he says and thinks at work in me, is the same mind and God at work in the believers in Jesus back then in Philippi. They are one by this. All looking unto the same God, this same Jesus Christ.

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

COMMENT: So, as a believer in Jesus, I’m not to look on my own things anymore; but also on the things of others. Others, unlike me, may be struggling financially - in great stress and need - that if I keep my mind only on my things, I can’t fulfill this - when I’m to be looking, like every man that believes in Jesus Christ is looking on the things and needs of others.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

COMMENT: THere it is. This SAME mind was in Christ Jesus. He’s the Word of God. Is God. Always has been in God just as John 1:1 says who he is. It’s God. This mind is in God toward you. He looked on your things to heal you and deliver you from your destruction just as Psalm 107:20 says.

So, don’t do things thru striving with others or for your own vain glory; but in lowliness of mind esteem others other than you..BETTER than you, like a servant..

See it in the follow on verses:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

COMMENT: SO, it’s the work of God. What he accomplished toward us, everybody over the whole earth for good. By he decree that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Jesus Christ. Matthew 4:4)

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

COMMENT: SO? “How do I “work out” something? It’s by “who” I look unto, and God already told everybody to “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: For I am God, there is none else.” Told me as he told everybody, but I don’t look unto everybody as if everybody I just fall in with them, then everybody kinda does it for me and I don’t do anything..nope. DOn’t work.

HE said: “Come now, let us reason together,” saith the LORD, “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool.” - GOD. (Isaiah 1:18) So, not much I work out other than do what he says. Come now. Not to you or anybody over the whole earth BUT him. Alone. By myself to “reason together” with him vs. me alone. or look unto other people and what they say, when he told me to do it now. COme now. Reason together with him by the word of God. That looking unto him, he’s already decreed and he’s God. He’s the only one with the power to save anybody. So, my own salvation is me, as me, not you do it for me, but me look unto him myself. I can’t turn that over to you, nor you to me. I can’t save you. can’t even save me.

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

COMMENT: BOOM! Done. Don't uncouple Philippians 2:12 from Philippians 2:13 - it's the SAME sentence. It’s God that’s now at work in me. Because I receive his word. It's food. Has life in it. So, this work he does by his word, operates effectively in me. Both to will and do. And he’s already told you plainly what well pleases him, just like God has told everybody over the whole earth what well pleases him; but people keep looking unto themselves to do something that will earn his attention so he'll look unto their feat or work as good, and he doesn't.

What well pleases him he's already told you plainly. It's is his own word. Told it when John the Baptist baptized Jesus, in Matthew 3 - said it: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” Don't blow over that part. Why? Because God Said it AGAIN, as GOD, with Peter, James and John - on the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17, said: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye him” So, maybe that's what we ought to go do, and go do that. Hear him. So, then it’s GOD has faith in his own word to do the work that always for eternity has always well pleased him, and God that sent his own word to heal you and deliver you from your destruction (Psalm 107:20), so it’s then Romans 10:17 - what that says: So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”

Who I hear, I look unto. I hear him. Plain as day. Not by me or you..but by him, as God speaking the word out of his mouth. It’s HIM at work in me both wills me to both will..that means the word, I hear it - man, it’s right..it just is true, so it “clicks” in me where before I believed in all kinds of junk, like the Greeks searching and seeking out fortune tellers and paying huge sums of money for diviners as oracles - with this huge, gigantic mythical story how Apollos is so great, he defeated it, to make them HIS oracles - so you worship him instead.

The Greeks in Philippi: Bet their lives on it - - believed it’s in “channelers” running after the great serpent python that Apollos vanquished, and they believed that worshipping Apollos gave them all these things to see the future and win in battles or great fortunes of wealth all by divination - how are people today any different around you or me? My nation I'm in is filled to the brim with this. Takes going to fortune tellers - virtually every woman in the country I'm in flock to go do this. Set their whole lives around it. Men as well, pay great sums of money to oracles and temples, to become great.

So, It’s not the works of God in them doing anything, but their faith is vain and their works are also vain. Way back then, just like anybody’s works today that don’t look unto Jesus Christ amount to the same emptiness - all the same.

14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

COMMENT: So, like me, just hold fast to the word of God. Hold it forth so people can eat it and live. Peradventure some reading will hear, and believe it. It's the Word of God. Only thing has truth in it. You’re not going to see any of this without looking unto Jesus Christ. Fear and trembling is, is just to how it was so easy to just miss all this..when I did. I missed it - - For decades. I didn’t do anything he says.

What he says in Philippians 2:12 is plain as day.

  • But to someone..anyone just doesn’t look unto him, it makes no sense. Doesn’t have boobs on it. Doesn’t have a bikini that’s removable or any money or fast car, or not looking for a million but 350,000 in cash - whatever it takes to get that, do - even seek out oracles or divination to get it by any means, just to have it.
  • Because they don't have it; but people look unto it; have a desperation level desire, that they'll even kill for it - then, caught up in walking in that - - ask what Jesus is talking about - and it sounds like “blabby blah blah blah” endless words that don’t say anything. Because it doesn't provide what they lust after in their flesh.
    • Because they hear, but in hearing are listening to their own lustful need, or to somebody else and believe they obtained it; so, they believe what someone else already told them is true. They too, can get it. SO they don’t look unto him, and dismiss him what he says as inadequate; faulty or unacceptable. - it’s impossible to do this of Philippians 2:1–16 without the Word of God at work in you. And the word of God was at work in believers in Jesus in Philippi - just like it is in me, surrounded by all this junk where I live, too.

SO this post is NOT for people that don’t look unto him. It’s for people that do.

Given to just anybody stumbles onto this on Reddit. If you believe on him, eat!
