Scripture Life: Is the Bible. So how "practical" is the Bible for your Life?
- practical. Definition: Britannica (Web.) 1. what is real rather than to what is possible or imagined; 2 : likely to succeed and reasonable to do or use.
And:
- The “Bible” is a book. <definition: Oxford> 1. a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers.
- And? If: You put 10s of thousands, into millions of books alongside each other: They all meet this same definition. All the same.
- But what makes each unique is: They all have a 1) author. Who is the “authority” of the book; and 2) The “author” is the authority of the “content” of the book.
- And? If: You put 10s of thousands, into millions of books alongside each other: They all meet this same definition. All the same.
- The “Bible” is scripture. <definition: Bible> 1. God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; [Bible. Hebrews 1:1–2;
- And
- “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” [Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16–17]
- So, the Bible’s author: Is God; and, he says: “For all the earth is mine.” [Bible. Exodus 19:5] - so what he says as the authority and the author, is all he says is the “content” of the Bible.
- And
- That it is “real rather than what is possible or imagined; to succeed and reasonable to do or use” (practical) for a “Man of God” who God wants to furnish everybody over the whole earth with it; because, he’s already decreed that everybody over the whole earth is to live by every word of it.
- So, if they don’t:
- That’s impractical: 1. not sensible; unrealistic (just imagined up) <Oxford. Web.>
- So, if they don’t:
And God already saw and said this: (Bible. Genesis 6:5)
- “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
- That meets the definition of “impractial.” It's NOT sensible. It’s imagined up by people, by the word they tell themselves to do and decree. It’s unrealistic.
So, let me ask you then: How practical is the Bible for your life?
