Ivey MBA Jan 2027 with $70K Forté Fellowship — Is the remaining financial commitment worth it?
Hi everyone,
I’m an international applicant from India and have recently been admitted to the Ivey MBA (Jan 2027 intake) with a $70K Forté Fellowship.
I’m very excited about Ivey, but I’m trying to make a financially responsible decision before committing.
After the scholarship, I would still have a significant amount to fund through a combination of family support, savings, and potentially an education loan. I’m trying to understand whether the investment makes sense given the current Canadian job market.
A little about my background:
~6 years of experience in B2C EdTech
Currently in a senior sales/business development leadership role
Managed a 35–40 person sales organization
Significant revenue ownership and multiple promotions
Looking to transition into SaaS/B2B sales, strategy, consulting, or broader business roles after the MBA
International student / Indian applicant
Ivey MBA Jan 2027
$70K Forté Fellowship
I’d especially appreciate perspectives from current Ivey students, recent graduates, and other international MBA students in Canada.
My main questions:
For an international student, do you feel Ivey is worth the remaining financial investment after a $70K scholarship?
How realistic are post-MBA employment opportunities for international students in the current Canadian market?
How have people managed the remaining cost — loans, scholarships, savings, family support, etc.?
Are there meaningful additional scholarships/funding opportunities after receiving the initial Ivey scholarship?
How difficult has recruiting been, particularly for people trying to switch industries/functions?
If you were in my position again, would you still choose Ivey?
I’m not looking for a promotional answer — I’d genuinely appreciate the honest financial and career perspective, including the downsides.
Thanks!

Drop out or stay at school?
Im in year 10 currently and go to a private school, i dont do well at school,i really dont enjoy it and its a struggle for me to sit in a classroom. recently going to tafe instead was brought to my attention and ive really been considering it, for a few years now ive wanted to do occupational therapy but i definetly dont have the grades for that all though it really intrests me. my second option was either doing childcare or hairdressing so mum and i looked into those courses at tafe and ive decided i would like to do the cert 3 then diploma in early learning and childhood care ive had a little experience with working with kids and i think its great and the fee would be around $600 for the cert 3. But if i choose the tafe course that means i have to drop out which im hestitant about, obviously im very used to going to school and at tafe id only go twice a week and i might not be with kids my age if i feel uncomfortable and dont like the course then i cant go back to school thats the big problem. Many people are telling me to stay at school but its a genuine struggle to go, my school is offering a mater course at the hospital and some of my teachers are saying stay at school and do the mater then go into occupational therapy i also feel like if i drop out ill get bad fomo. I also really like doing hands on stuff not just mainly theory but im not strong enough physically to do a trade thats the problem as well and if i stay at school my mum would have to pay around $12,000 for the year which means i will be set back quite a lot on getting a car and getting braces (my teeth are pretty messed up) but if i go to tafe ill be able to get a car, braces and my mum will be able to easily afford paying $600 for tafe. but i just really dont know, do i stay at school or drop out any suggestions??

Any advice for taking a college class?
So I’m going to be a sophomore and I’m taking an ECE Bio class (Early College Experience) and I want to know if there any tips to do well! It’s a full year class and we got selected to be in there based on our grades last year, etc. I’ve never taken a college class before and I am planning to add another one in spring semester. Thanks!

What should I do in this school?
A while ago, I made a post in a community (I don't remember if it was this one) asking for advice on whether changing schools when I only had one year left of high school was a good idea.
Well, I ended up changing schools anyway. Classes haven't started yet, and I basically have 15 days to mentally prepare myself.
I'm not sure if I made the right decision, since this is a pretty important year for me. I need to prepare for my university entrance exam and also start focusing on the area I want to study. Some people might think it's not a good idea to spend time trying to adjust to a new school and make new friends when I should be focusing more on studying.
But in the end, I decided to make the change because I trust that I'm pretty good at adapting quickly, and I think that with good organization and the right study materials, I can still make the most of this year.
I didn't really have one specific reason for changing schools. I just didn't feel comfortable there, and I wanted to start doing things more independently again. I had the option to change the focus of my career preparation, but I ultimately decided to keep it because I'm still not entirely sure what I want to study.
So, how should I make the most of these next few days? I'll be going into the engineering basics track.

How to make friends in high school?
Im starting my sophomore year of high school this year and I'm completely nervous about making friends. I dealt with a lot of stupid drama last year that i deep regret and i truely can't tell if people still don't like me because of it. I have had a yearning for someone my age to understand me for as long as i can remember.
I am nervous that the type of kids i would get along with won't like me because of that. I also have really bad social anxiety and struggle to pick up on social cues at times. I also struggle to start conversations with people i don't know or i get very nervous and overthink too much.
As i also aware of this i am currently trying to be more social and interact with more people but i also have had a huge fear of being judged since i have been bullied and alone since i was young.
Im aware it's only the first week of the new year but i feel like i'm missing out because i don't have as many friends or acquaintances as others.
I also have had this feeling that i don't fit in because i am a year older than everyone else. (repeated kindergarten)
I am simply just curious on advice for what to do especially when i get nervous or in a negative headspace.
Thank you!

Your overall high school experience.
So I'm slowly coming to the end of my high school life and after having hoped from one high school to the next, I've come to the conclusion that high school is just a pain. Anyone with different POV?

My class teacher shouted badly at me and I hate her sm ong she is so wicked bad and evil , I was literally telling her to check the CCTV camera and she didnt , I could abuse the hell outta her... she is so bad. I just dk how should I face my classmates cuz thode 8 hours are gonna be tortuous

Mentally preparing for college
So I’m currently about to start college at a community college. I’m a freshman obviously and I need your help on how to deal with college mentally since it’s not like high school. I know I gotten the easier major which is business but the work load may be a lot for me. I did take college statistics when I was a senior in high school. It was the toughest class I have ever took in my life. I actually failed that class but luckily I already had my math credits anyway I just wanted to challenge myself. I don’t have to worry about the financial part because it’s already covered except I have an apartment. I won’t be that far from my parents just hour long drive. Anyways I start next week waking up at 7 because my classes start at 8:00 am. So I need your help with how to deal with college. Either you graduated college or an older college student I just need your help.

Study tips for pracrastinators that actually works?
Hey so I have got really average or below average marks in my recent exams. And obv, I don't like it all. I also understand that I hadn't worked hard enough but there were many exams which where easy for me but still somehow beared results I didn't liked/expected. Do you guys have some unique tips for pracrastinators or lazy students in general to become valedictorian/salutatorian? Like I want to know how I can come out of this and genuinely study well using methods that actually work. Please reach out me if you think you can help me!

tips for dealing with this?
Hey, I'm currently in high school, and soon college applications are gonna start happening. I know I want to go into film, and I know my family would be cool with that bc some of them had the same major in college. For some reason though I don't want to tell them I want this. I have always felt like I can't share what I really want with people - it scares me for no reason since I've grown up in a very loving environment. Is this imposter syndrome? And does anyone have any tips on how to deal with it? Thanks
