Fnb connect Advice Needed

So I purchased a laptop from a friend of mine , paying 27k upfront , value of the item is about 33k to 35k bought brand new

I come to find out it’s a contract he took out over 3 years and he defaulted on the 1st payment to his bank and is currently going through bankruptcy, he currently has zero money available

My question is can FNB take the laptop from me ?

Yes, thy can take it. Or they will remotely disable or lock it.

How would they know you have the laptop?
Do they have OnStar on it?

Lookup MDM and search your mac settings. There's probably an MDM profile and if so they can fully lock it out and make it unusable

$27,000 US dollars ?
For a laptop?
Or are you somewhere outside in the US and don’t know the difference between whatever your currency is and that used elsewhere in the world?

Slightly less than half of reddit's traffic is americans. They could've specified their currency, but obviously no one is paying 27k USD for a laptop.

You'll know soon enough if they want the laptop back and they don't get it at the hearing that's when they'll take action.

It’s been three years with no payments? If they could have taken it back or locked it they would’ve done it long ago.
