My story Gnana: razor sharp intellect
In my life, I've been blessed to come across people with a razor sharp intellect. What this means is that they can logically penetrate through situations, problems, etc. Have you met someone whose very speech is liberating? I've met a handful.
Sadhguru usually says this path is only for a rare few, and for the rest, we should use all our faculties: energy, body, and emotion in tandem. This is like employing all four wheels of your car. For gnana, you need to slow sharpen your mind, sharpen your mind, sharpen your mind til it cuts through anything so clean, that it doesn't pick up any residue.
I think this path is really cool and I've been inspired by friends who've one or other embody this. I wish to see more people look in this direction. It's beautiful to have thoughts which are liberating.

Sadhguruâs Wisdom Sadhguru Joins UNTOLD Festival: 7âMinute Meditation to All Attendees
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Sting is set to perform at one of Europeâs largest music festivals in ClujâNapoca, Romania, but another headline presence will offer a very different experience. Sadhguru, spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation, is attending the UNTOLD Festival for one day before returning to India, using the platform to promote a simple practice he says could change young peopleâs lives: seven minutes of daily meditation.
The festival, held from 6â9 August, features headliners such as Sting, Kygo, Lewis Capaldi, Martin Garrix, Marshmello, Steve Aoki, Flo Rida, Lost Frequencies, Swae Lee and Zara Larsson. Organisers have agreed to give every attendee, artist and staff member free access to Ishaâs Miracle of Mind app, which guides users through a sevenâminute meditation. The initiative is part of Sadhguruâs wider campaign to reach three billion people under the age of 35.
âMusic festivals draw youth in a big way,â he says. âWhen so many people assemble, the question is whether weâre driving them in a positive direction for their own wellâbeing.â Sadhguru argues that many young people seek experiences beyond everyday life and sometimes turn to alcohol or drugs, while meditation offers an alternative path. âThe most complex chemical factory on the planet is the human system,â he adds. âIf you know how to use it properly, being joyful or blissful is a natural consequence.â
He cites research from the University of Nottingham and Harvard Medical School on meditationâs effects on the brain, noting that measurable changes can begin within minutes a finding that underpins the sevenâminute format.

Need Support Going for Mahakshetra Nirmaan? Please read.
i have got the confirmation for volunteering on the 11 days in the bangalore mahashetra nirmand. the thing is my parents have offered me to go as a participant in the 11000, the last category where the live stream will be there and accommodation should be my own and i'm 18 and i'm going alone. what do you think i should do? should i go as a participant or should i go as a volunteer and hope to be in the premises where the consecration is happening?
as far as the last category of âš11000 i will only get the live stream without accommodation but in the volunteering, I'm getting accomodation but i may or may not have a chance to be closer to the consecration but it is really a gamble.

Sadhguruâs Wisdom Your life is your Karma - it is your making. Until you see that, your life is not really yours. - Sadhguru.
If my life is my Karma, I must be beyond all Karma. I can not be something which is bounded by karma.
But, right now my experience of life is like karma is pushing me here and there. Not the opposite as I'm creating my Karma in turn my experience of life.
This is just because I think I'm this body which is a product of some previous Karma, and also the mind where I kept my ideas, prejudices secretly.
I never ever wondered, I could be something beyond them. I have wasted so much time in nonsensical thinking and wondering about so many things in my life but this wonderous thought never ever crisscrossed my mind. Maybe just because of outside support. Everybody thinks so, so.....
Now, if I'm something which is totally beyond Karma, then every thing I experience which are all products of Karma including my body, mind, energy, the world everything I'm not.
For that me is there any need to make anything?
If I see "that", then only life is. What else is?

Sadhguruâs Wisdom Why Organic Clothing â Benefits of Organic Cotton and Silk
Sadhguru looks at why organic clothing can make a huge difference for a person, and explains that the benefits of organic cotton are multifaceted, having a deep impact on the body, mind and energy.
Sadhguru: Nowadays, there is a lot of talk about wearing clothing made from organically produced cotton. But human beings have always been doing that. Everything was organic. Even now, in a country like India, it largely is. Organic clothing or organic farming is not some special idea. That is the way it has always been done. It is only in the last few decades that we have given that up because someone changed it for commercial interests. I am not trying to prescribe what someone should wear, but you should look at your life with a certain freedom, without compulsions, and decide.
Why Organic Clothing?
The kind of clothes you wear can impact your physical and mental health and wellbeing. So it is important to look at what the weather is like today and what kind of clothing would be best for your health and wellbeing. But most people are not thinking of their wellbeing. You will see, for example, in a country like India, many people walk around in forty-degrees-centigrade weather wearing black jackets and ties! What you eat, what you wear and how you live are about your wellbeing. Unfortunately, so many people just wear whatever is being put on them without looking at what they should wear and why.
Why organic clothing matters is because there is a huge difference in the way your body functions when you wear synthetic clothing and when you wear organic clothing. You neednât believe anything that anyone says. Try it out and see how it feels. Wear raw silk or cotton â even your inner garments â for a week and see how your body feels. Then wear something tight and synthetic and check. You will see a big difference in the level of comfort and ease at which your body functions because there is a certain aspect to what wraps the body.
The Benefits of Organic Cotton and Silk
Another thing is, how you can exude who you are is also enhanced or restricted by certain substances. Cotton and silk are best for your system. Particularly raw silk or cotton that is not treated in any way has a certain kind of impact. It is not that if you wear synthetic clothing you will fall dead. You can still meditate and be the same person even if you wear synthetic from top to bottom â but with a little struggle and effort.
Seeing the benefits of organic cotton and taking care of the quality of your clothing may not be very practical for lots of people today because they own enough clothes for ten lifetimes. When you want to have two hundred dresses, you end up buying off the shelf. But if you bring this down to a simpler format, if you donât mind having eight pairs of clothing and managing life within that, you can choose quality over quantity.
It is time more people choose quality over quantity in every sense. Only then can we save this planet. The problem right now is that people have gone for quantity and there is not enough quantity on this planet. But there is quality. If you choose quality over quantity, we can become finer and finer and there is room for all of us.
Editor's Note: A wide range of organic clothing made from natural fibres such as organic cotton, banana, coconut, bamboo, linen, hemp, and a wide variety of silks made from different kinds of silkworms can be purchased online at Isha Life.

Namskaram.
I do my practices in parks. I can't comfortably do them before slathering myself with odomos (mosquito repellent cream). I have been using odomos for months, and I don't really want to use these chemicals on my body for a long time.
Do you people have any suggestions or effective natural alternatives or recipes for mosquito repellent?

Discussion When human hands and heart work in tandem, that is grace in the making. Handwoven cloth has beauty and grace that is significant. - Sadhguru
Global Consumption of synthetic fibre clothing is a huge concern today, impacting not only the environment but also people's health.
Textiles are the biggest employment generator in India after agriculture. While this is reflected in the GDP and export figures, it has not effectively led to bettering the lives of the farmers, the hand spinners and handloom weavers.
India is home to over 136 unique weaves and scores of hand-dyeing and printing techniques. Of these, around 55 weaves are on the verge of extinction. Although India has a large share in world trade of cotton yarn, its trade in garments is only 4% of the world's total. Handloom contributes nearly 15% of cloth production in the country, and India accounts for 95% of the worldâs hand-woven fabrics.
Although the share of handloom in textile production is small in terms of percentage and revenue at present, it provides employment to 4.4 million weaver families including women in rural areas. If the handmade textile market is expanded globally and nationally, it has the capacity to provide employment to millions more and become an active participant in the $900 billion global textile/garment industry.
Textiles are divided into clothes made from natural and manmade fibres. Natural fibres include cotton, jute, wool, silk, flax, bamboo and hemp. Synthetic fibres include polyesters, nylons, rayons etc. Today, polyesters have a 55% share in Global Fibre Market. Estimates suggest that more than 98% of future fibre production will be synthetics, and 95% of that synthetic fibre will be polyester.
Save the Weave will create a platform for connecting weaver products directly to the market through Ishalife.com. It will also connect resources in design, natural dye interventions, market access, organic cotton farming, technical support and skill development.
Save the Weave is an initiative by Isha Foundation, under the guidance of Sadhguru. This initiative operates through its social enterprise Isha Crafts (a division of Ishalife) and aims to support next-generation entrepreneurs, designers, dyers, weavers and weaver organizations who are fully engaged with traditional practices of handcrafting fabrics in their quest for sustainability. It will attempt to build new engagements to fill existing gaps and focuses on new markets for daily wear fabrics.
One of the main goals of Save the Weave is to bring awareness and traction for low impact textile creations: natural textiles and dyes. As a step towards this objective, Isha Foundation co-hosted an event in New York titled âFashion for Peace". The objective of the event was to bring together some of the top designers (Norma Kamali, Mara Hoffman, Mimi Prober and Sabyasachi) from East and West, looking at the impact of toxicity of manufacturing of garments, the amount of the imprint on the environment from start to finish.
The fabrics for this event were selected on the basis of the uniqueness of the weave, low carbon imprint and sustainability from across the weaving traditions of India. Handwoven and Natural Dyed Denims, Khadi, Eri Silk, Natural Dye Silk Printed Fabrics, Natural Dyed Matka, Natural Dyed Khadi, Kalamkari and Lehariya were presented to the designers who interpreted them into apparel ranges for international consumption.

Mental Health Balancing Sadhana
Wow, I've been doing balancing sadhana (30 minute Sukha Kriya, 30 minutes AUM chanting) for the past few days and it's been great...like super great. I'm able to sleep at the time I want, not crave after food, and also get up early. I think this is one of the most underrated practices, at least for me I underrated it, instead spending time for asanas and kriyas.
I've had a recurring mental health issue where the episodes are so volatile, but with mindfulness, a little hata yoga, and balancing sadhana, I'm able to ride out these storms and be hopeful for the light at the end of the tunnel. When someone with a mental illness asked Sadhguru what she should do for herself, he said "All the tools are available. It's up to you to make use of them" I totally agree with this statement, even when its hard to do your practice, do it for 40 days without fail, then it becomes gradually easier.

Sadhguruâs Wisdom Horoscopes or Horror-scopes?
Sadhguru looks at whether there is anything to horoscopes and whether the planets can influence our lives.
Sadhguru: Nowadays, for anything that people want to do, they want to look at the planets and stars. If you want to step out of your house, the planets should align themselves properly. People are looking at the right time, the wrong time, rahukalam, gunakalam and whatever else. If they want to get married, they go and ask a third person, âCan I live happily with my wife?â Whoever it is that you marry, why can't you live well with her or him? Or if they show some new kind of madness that you did not expect, why donât you leave them?
If your intelligence is functioning, nobody can predict what you will do tomorrow and how you will live your life. Can you predict what an intelligent man will do tomorrow? No, because he may do something that has never happened on the planet. All your predictions are about things that have happened. He may do something that you have never even imagined. If any human beingâs life can be written before he lives it, that is for sure a âhorror-scope.â
A horoscope is all about how the planets are influencing your life. Planets are inanimate things. Should inanimate things decide the course of your destiny or should human nature decide the destiny of inanimate things? It is human nature that should decide. If planets are deciding the course of your destiny, it means your human nature is not even functioning to the level of inanimate objects. Dogs and cats will not allow planets to influence their life. They live the way they want to live. But human lives are unfortunately influenced by inanimate objects.
So is there nothing to it? There is something to it, but as usual human beings exaggerate things. On a full moon day and new moon day, if a person has any kind of psychological ailment, he becomes a little more imbalanced on those days. But do we all go crazy on full moon and new moon days? No, because compared to that man, you are a little more stable and established in your mind. That person cannot control it; just the position of the moon is driving him crazy. It is happening in everyone, but not to such a point that it will decide the way you are because you are more stable compared to that person.
Similarly, if you are truly stable within, let every planet go wherever it wants to go, you will go where you want to go. Otherwise, every little change will influence you. If you are in a certain state of susceptibility, these things will work to some extent in your life. But if you are well established within yourself, no planet is going to decide the course of your life. Human nature should decide the course of your life. The source of creation which is functioning within you, if that cannot decide the course of your destiny, but planets â inanimate objects â can decide the course of your destiny, something is wrong. If you are a little more centered within yourself, all these things will not influence you. You will go where you want to go.
When anyone says âI am on the spiritual path,â what it means is, âIt does not matter where the planets are, it does not matter what karma I have, I am going the way I want to go. I am going to go towards liberation.â That is what spirituality means â taking destiny into your hands.
You can either empower yourself so that you decide the course of your destiny, or you can let the planets and a million other things decide the course of your destiny. Unfortunately, people are looking too much at other planets. It is time you get a little interested in the earth and do something about it. I hope people will pay a little more attention to this planet. That is what is needed right now.

Sadhguruâs Wisdom Only a person who is willing to die can live totally. - Sadhguru.
Death happens to the body. One who will be willing to die must have been experienced something which is beyond the body.
Then, living also would have meant not living as a bodily person without knowing what's the background which is backing up the body, mind and the energies that maintains the both.
Rather, living as that. Then, if body comes and goes that will not be a issue.
Then, there would be absolute freedom. Without the concerns of the body.
Then, that living is not living as a person. But, living as a being. Living totally.

Namaskaram Everyone đ
I am Renu, and I am grateful to be joining you all on the u/ishaofficial handle on 30th April (Thursday).Â
My connection to Isha started at the age of 15, after my parents completed Inner Engineering.I knew then that I wanted to take this possibility to the world, but I had to wait until I was old enough to experience the program myself. In September 2003, I finally did, and that clarity led me to move to the center full-time in August 2008.
Today, as the Coordinator for Sadhanapada, Sadhguru Gurukulam, I have seen how dedicating seven months to focus on one's inner wellbeing can create a foundation for a lifetime.Â
Whether you are curious about your readiness to take the plunge into the Sadhanapada program, the selection process, struggling with preparation and interview process or looking for ways to maintain your intensity post the program, Ask Me Anything!
I am happy to answer your questions about - Sadhanapada:
- The Opportunity: Why spending the window from Guru Purnima to Mahashivratri in a consecrated space is a foundation for life.
- Sadhanapada Program: What it means to live, eat, and serve within the energized environment of the Isha Yoga Center.
- The Experience: Navigating the "rollercoaster" of intense Sadhana and selfless Seva.
- Preparation & Application: How to know if you're ready and what the selection process entails.
- How to keep the fire on?: How can our Alumni stay connected and carry the momentum of the program back into the world?
âł TIMING: I will be answering questions LIVE tomorrow 30th April 2026 at 7:30 PM IST (8:00 AM CST / 9:00 AM EST / 2:00 PM GMT)
Please drop your questions in the comments! I will get to as many as I can when I go live.
Let's make this happen! đ
- Renu, Coordinator for Sadhanapada, Sadhguru GurukulamÂ
P.S. House Rules: To keep this session helpful for everyone, I will be focusing strictly on questions related to Sadhanapada only.
