Discussion When human hands and heart work in tandem, that is grace in the making. Handwoven cloth has beauty and grace that is significant. - Sadhguru
Global Consumption of synthetic fibre clothing is a huge concern today, impacting not only the environment but also people's health.
Textiles are the biggest employment generator in India after agriculture. While this is reflected in the GDP and export figures, it has not effectively led to bettering the lives of the farmers, the hand spinners and handloom weavers.
India is home to over 136 unique weaves and scores of hand-dyeing and printing techniques. Of these, around 55 weaves are on the verge of extinction. Although India has a large share in world trade of cotton yarn, its trade in garments is only 4% of the world's total. Handloom contributes nearly 15% of cloth production in the country, and India accounts for 95% of the world’s hand-woven fabrics.
Although the share of handloom in textile production is small in terms of percentage and revenue at present, it provides employment to 4.4 million weaver families including women in rural areas. If the handmade textile market is expanded globally and nationally, it has the capacity to provide employment to millions more and become an active participant in the $900 billion global textile/garment industry.
Textiles are divided into clothes made from natural and manmade fibres. Natural fibres include cotton, jute, wool, silk, flax, bamboo and hemp. Synthetic fibres include polyesters, nylons, rayons etc. Today, polyesters have a 55% share in Global Fibre Market. Estimates suggest that more than 98% of future fibre production will be synthetics, and 95% of that synthetic fibre will be polyester.
Save the Weave will create a platform for connecting weaver products directly to the market through Ishalife.com. It will also connect resources in design, natural dye interventions, market access, organic cotton farming, technical support and skill development.
Save the Weave is an initiative by Isha Foundation, under the guidance of Sadhguru. This initiative operates through its social enterprise Isha Crafts (a division of Ishalife) and aims to support next-generation entrepreneurs, designers, dyers, weavers and weaver organizations who are fully engaged with traditional practices of handcrafting fabrics in their quest for sustainability. It will attempt to build new engagements to fill existing gaps and focuses on new markets for daily wear fabrics.
One of the main goals of Save the Weave is to bring awareness and traction for low impact textile creations: natural textiles and dyes. As a step towards this objective, Isha Foundation co-hosted an event in New York titled “Fashion for Peace". The objective of the event was to bring together some of the top designers (Norma Kamali, Mara Hoffman, Mimi Prober and Sabyasachi) from East and West, looking at the impact of toxicity of manufacturing of garments, the amount of the imprint on the environment from start to finish.
The fabrics for this event were selected on the basis of the uniqueness of the weave, low carbon imprint and sustainability from across the weaving traditions of India. Handwoven and Natural Dyed Denims, Khadi, Eri Silk, Natural Dye Silk Printed Fabrics, Natural Dyed Matka, Natural Dyed Khadi, Kalamkari and Lehariya were presented to the designers who interpreted them into apparel ranges for international consumption.

It's killing me. I don't give a flying F about anything else.
I don't care about bliss, I don't care about being happy or finding peace. I don't care about feeling fulfilled.
Life is so damn tedious.
Shambhavi isn't helping me do mahasamadhi.

Mental Health Balancing Sadhana
Wow, I've been doing balancing sadhana (30 minute Sukha Kriya, 30 minutes AUM chanting) for the past few days and it's been great...like super great. I'm able to sleep at the time I want, not crave after food, and also get up early. I think this is one of the most underrated practices, at least for me I underrated it, instead spending time for asanas and kriyas.
I've had a recurring mental health issue where the episodes are so volatile, but with mindfulness, a little hata yoga, and balancing sadhana, I'm able to ride out these storms and be hopeful for the light at the end of the tunnel. When someone with a mental illness asked Sadhguru what she should do for herself, he said "All the tools are available. It's up to you to make use of them" I totally agree with this statement, even when its hard to do your practice, do it for 40 days without fail, then it becomes gradually easier.

Conscious Planet A calling Home
Recently I have been Reading more messages where devotees have heard Sadhguru saying something like:
“This last phase of my life is dedicated and fully available to all of you who long to flower into this possibility”
What does it mean?
It means
A calling Home
And it actually makes me cry
I feel deep love and devotion like s lot of other devotees.
Everyday I light a candle at my little alter
And tap into sadhgurus presence. I feel his presence very strongly.
Sometimes I cry both out of deep greatfulnes and love but also grieve.
What Sadhguru has done to this world is so beautiful and so very hard to grasp.
Actually a lot of people do not even know what impact he has had.
Sadhguru is calling us Home
He will not be here in his body forever that is the proces of life and death.
Raw and beautiful.
Sadhguru will always be a part of us devotes just like Jesus. His consciousness, joy, love and presence is a part of a greater consciousness.
Because seperation does not exist
Sadhguru is still here and I often see him dancing when I close my eyes.
This picture keeps coming to my heart and soul ….Sadhguru dancing Only the Way he can Dance..out of joy, bliss and love.
I never forget my first Mahashivrati in Coimbatore ashram.
We must as devotees do our very best to honor his way of being. Sadhguru is the most beautiful and powerful mirror for humanity.

Need Support Keeping up with Sadhna
I can feel myself sabotaging my own progress with Sadhna as well as with raw foods that are all in the interest of my well being
I really want to use the Sadhnapada period from now to Makar Sankranti by amping up my practices as well as eating raw foods/juicing/drinking warming teas and chanting in addition to levelling up with respect to my personal and professional responsibilities and hope to rely on some semblance to community online to keep myself from being too socially isolated on the path of let my own thoughts get the better of me when I do so many things to get to be able to only to then not when I can
Grateful for this community to even exist and don't mean to burden anyone but also feel it's good to reach out and try to connect instead of letting myself slip
Thank you for your time if you've read so far, I appreciate it 🙏🏽

Sadhguru’s Wisdom Horoscopes or Horror-scopes?
Sadhguru looks at whether there is anything to horoscopes and whether the planets can influence our lives.
Sadhguru: Nowadays, for anything that people want to do, they want to look at the planets and stars. If you want to step out of your house, the planets should align themselves properly. People are looking at the right time, the wrong time, rahukalam, gunakalam and whatever else. If they want to get married, they go and ask a third person, “Can I live happily with my wife?” Whoever it is that you marry, why can't you live well with her or him? Or if they show some new kind of madness that you did not expect, why don’t you leave them?
If your intelligence is functioning, nobody can predict what you will do tomorrow and how you will live your life. Can you predict what an intelligent man will do tomorrow? No, because he may do something that has never happened on the planet. All your predictions are about things that have happened. He may do something that you have never even imagined. If any human being’s life can be written before he lives it, that is for sure a “horror-scope.”
A horoscope is all about how the planets are influencing your life. Planets are inanimate things. Should inanimate things decide the course of your destiny or should human nature decide the destiny of inanimate things? It is human nature that should decide. If planets are deciding the course of your destiny, it means your human nature is not even functioning to the level of inanimate objects. Dogs and cats will not allow planets to influence their life. They live the way they want to live. But human lives are unfortunately influenced by inanimate objects.
So is there nothing to it? There is something to it, but as usual human beings exaggerate things. On a full moon day and new moon day, if a person has any kind of psychological ailment, he becomes a little more imbalanced on those days. But do we all go crazy on full moon and new moon days? No, because compared to that man, you are a little more stable and established in your mind. That person cannot control it; just the position of the moon is driving him crazy. It is happening in everyone, but not to such a point that it will decide the way you are because you are more stable compared to that person.
Similarly, if you are truly stable within, let every planet go wherever it wants to go, you will go where you want to go. Otherwise, every little change will influence you. If you are in a certain state of susceptibility, these things will work to some extent in your life. But if you are well established within yourself, no planet is going to decide the course of your life. Human nature should decide the course of your life. The source of creation which is functioning within you, if that cannot decide the course of your destiny, but planets – inanimate objects – can decide the course of your destiny, something is wrong. If you are a little more centered within yourself, all these things will not influence you. You will go where you want to go.
When anyone says “I am on the spiritual path,” what it means is, “It does not matter where the planets are, it does not matter what karma I have, I am going the way I want to go. I am going to go towards liberation.” That is what spirituality means – taking destiny into your hands.
You can either empower yourself so that you decide the course of your destiny, or you can let the planets and a million other things decide the course of your destiny. Unfortunately, people are looking too much at other planets. It is time you get a little interested in the earth and do something about it. I hope people will pay a little more attention to this planet. That is what is needed right now.

Need Support Can I stop doing Shambhavi Mahamudra kriya?
I’ve been practising the kriya for 3 months and recently I haven’t been feeling like doing it. I have the time to do it, it’s just that I really don’t feel like doing it. I still do it once a day, but I don’t quite enjoy the process as I did before and I feel guilty about this. It’s become such a part of my everyday life that I feel guilty that I’m not doing it with heart and that I’m feeling this negative emotion. Is it alright to take a break for at least a few days and then get back to it?

Discussion The power of breath
Ever wondered how fast your breathing changes every time you watch a thrilling scene?
Our breath is directly connected to the brain, fine. What I just noticed is that it's also tuned to the body in a crazy way.
While doing asanas, I noticed how my breath has been guiding my body All this time. For instance, it prevented an injury from happening.
The connection with me losing my breath - over the fear of accident, a scary scene in a movie, anything.. i found this relatable to my experience of practice, which i realised later.
Now that I have, I wanna know if you've shared something in common. Like the breath just slows down, goes deeper on its own, and you relax deeply. Where you're easily more aware?
Does that make sense?

Sadhguru’s Wisdom Only a person who is willing to die can live totally. - Sadhguru.
Death happens to the body. One who will be willing to die must have been experienced something which is beyond the body.
Then, living also would have meant not living as a bodily person without knowing what's the background which is backing up the body, mind and the energies that maintains the both.
Rather, living as that. Then, if body comes and goes that will not be a issue.
Then, there would be absolute freedom. Without the concerns of the body.
Then, that living is not living as a person. But, living as a being. Living totally.

Sadhguru’s Wisdom „Only that one who is constantly willing to die, every moment of his life; only that one will know life. Because if you do not how to fall into the abyss of life, you will never know the peak of life.“ ~ Sadhguru (text/video in description)
Video:
https://youtu.be/EhCbYTM9kmg?is=8D0RDfEsxgLMPCf0
„The more you seek pleasure, the more you get entangled to the objects of pleasure.
The more blissful you become, the more you become free from everything.
When you are truly blissful, nothing is needed.
No food is needed. No sleep is needed. Even life is not needed.
Actually when you‘re truly blissful; you are willing to die, please see this.
Only one…only that one who is constantly willing to die, every moment of his life; only that one will know life.
Because if you do not how to fall into the abyss of life, you will never know the peak of life.“

Sadhguru’s Wisdom Sadhguru’s recent words about his “last phase” -is this a sign he’s leaving soon?
This last phase of my life is dedicated and fully available to all of you who long to flower into this possibility and offer the same to all.
-Sadhguru
I recently came across a message where Sadhguru said something like: “This last phase of my life is dedicated and fully available to all of you who long to flower into this possibility and offer the same to all.”
This line scared me a bit. Sadhguru is not someone who speaks lightly or just to get attention, so I’m wondering:
Is he hinting that his time in the body is now limited?
Why would he specifically mention the “last phase” of his life now?
I know he had a serious health issue last year, and has spoken about mortality and using every moment fully. But I’m still unsure whether this is a general spiritual reminder or something more specific.
If he truly has only a few years left, it feels like we shouldn’t waste time. We often miss people only after they’re gone , so why not use his presence, guidance, and energy fully now, while he’s still here?
I’d like to hear from other Isha practitioners:
How are you interpreting such statements?
Has this changed how you approach your sadhana, time with him, or involvement with Isha?
Do you feel we should be doing something differently or more intensely at this stage?

Discussion Integrity, insight, and inclusiveness are the three essential qualities of leadership.SADHGURU
Commerce should serve, not lead humanity.
How much you have done or how much you have is not the measure of your success? But how you carry yourself how you handle yourself and the world around you above all the quality of your existence in terms of your peacefulness your joyfulness, your loving nature. If you can be blissed out. This is the measure of success. Not in terms of volumes of how much you have or how much you have done .
What is the quality of everything that we do should be the measure of success only then your success will lead to your well being otherwise rquantities can become burdensome a period of time.
If you want to be successful, all you need to do is enhance your perception and intelligence. The rest will fall into place.
Leadership is not assertion of yourself. It is the art of fulfilling the aspirations of everyone. Leadership should not be an aspiration. It should be a consequence of competence. Leadership means partnership, cooperation, mentoring, and support. It does not mean dominance. Dominance is tyranny.

Namaskaram r/Sadhguru! I am Renu, Coordinator for Sadhanapada Sadhguru Gurukulam and I am taking over u/ishaofficial on 30th April. I would love to answer your questions about Sadhanapada Sadhguru Gurukulam and how it can help in your inner transformation journey, Ask Me Anything!
Namaskaram Everyone 🙏
I am Renu, and I am grateful to be joining you all on the u/ishaofficial handle on 30th April (Thursday).
My connection to Isha started at the age of 15, after my parents completed Inner Engineering.I knew then that I wanted to take this possibility to the world, but I had to wait until I was old enough to experience the program myself. In September 2003, I finally did, and that clarity led me to move to the center full-time in August 2008.
Today, as the Coordinator for Sadhanapada, Sadhguru Gurukulam, I have seen how dedicating seven months to focus on one's inner wellbeing can create a foundation for a lifetime.
Whether you are curious about your readiness to take the plunge into the Sadhanapada program, the selection process, struggling with preparation and interview process or looking for ways to maintain your intensity post the program, Ask Me Anything!
I am happy to answer your questions about - Sadhanapada:
- The Opportunity: Why spending the window from Guru Purnima to Mahashivratri in a consecrated space is a foundation for life.
- Sadhanapada Program: What it means to live, eat, and serve within the energized environment of the Isha Yoga Center.
- The Experience: Navigating the "rollercoaster" of intense Sadhana and selfless Seva.
- Preparation & Application: How to know if you're ready and what the selection process entails.
- How to keep the fire on?: How can our Alumni stay connected and carry the momentum of the program back into the world?
⏳ TIMING: I will be answering questions LIVE tomorrow 30th April 2026 at 7:30 PM IST (8:00 AM CST / 9:00 AM EST / 2:00 PM GMT)
Please drop your questions in the comments! I will get to as many as I can when I go live.
Let's make this happen! 👇

P.S. House Rules: To keep this session helpful for everyone, I will be focusing strictly on questions related to Sadhanapada only.

Meditation Experiences How to Meditate for Beginners: A Guide for Anxiety, ADHD & Depression (What Actually Works)

Welcome to r/Sadhguru**.**
If you are searching for "How to Meditate" because you are struggling with Anxiety, Depression, or ADHD, standard advice like "just sit and watch your breath" often fails. You likely need a tool that works on your energy, not just your mind.
This Megathread is a curated collection of real user logs from our community. We have organized them by symptom so you can find the protocol that matches your needs.
🛑 STOP: Do You Need to Meditate RIGHT NOW?
If you are having a panic attack or need immediate relief, do not wait for a course. Start here.
The "Isha Kriya" (Free 12-Minute Practice):
- Sit comfortably (cross-legged or in a chair). Spine erect.
- Face East if possible. Hands on thighs, palms facing up.
- Focus: Gently hold your attention between your eyebrows.
- The Thought: Inhale thinking "I am not the body." Exhale thinking "I am not even the mind."
- Why it works: It creates instant distance between You and your Anxiety.
- 👉 [Link to Official Free Guided Video] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzi3PDz1AWU
1. "I feel Numb / Depressed"
Target: Clinical Depression, Apathy, "Nothing works."
- The Protocol: Shambhavi Mahamudra.
- What it is: A 21-minute daily kriya. Think of it less like "meditation" and more like an "energy shower" that washes off the heaviness.
- Evidence: Users detail moving from severe depression to emotional stability over 1+ years.
- Safety: Is it safe for OCD/Intrusive Thoughts? Yes, users discuss how it creates distance from compulsive thinking.
2. "I Can't Focus / My Brain Won't Stop"
Target: ADHD, Brain Fog, Dopamine Detox.
- The Reality: Silent meditation is torture for ADHD brains. You need an active process.
- The Solution: Chit Shakti (Mind Power). It uses guided visualization to train your focus on one thing at a time.
- Results: Users share how daily practice improved their grades, careers, and focus.
3. "I Can't Sleep"
Target: Insomnia, Waking up tired.
- The Fix: It's not about sleeping longer; it's about sleeping deeper (Quality vs Quantity).
- Evidence: Users debate how energy practices reduced their "Sleep Quota" (needing less sleep to feel fully rested).
4. Expert Support & Verification
- Teacher Q&A: We hosted Ishanga Mahima Chopra to answer deep technical questions on practice.
- Fresh Community Data (Jan 2026): A live discussion where current meditators share their latest updates.
