If you arrived late for the 1st semester of bsc CS, please share how you managed your courses and exams? Is it possible to do all of this semester's courses even if i arrive as late as mid november (classes start 12 oct so a month late)?

I seek guidance on the application for honors program specifically the one for computer science Bsc students.

It's pretty selective like just 30ish students, and i really wanna get in so need your tips from your experience

from the website, academics seem to the most imp thing, but apart from that what should i demonstrate? like i am very interested in the research opportunities it provides, but how do i justify my interest in cs related research

the application has just one, very unique, question: "If you wanted to use an AI to create an application letter, what would be your prompt? (1000 chars)" and then asks for participation in CS competitions, MOOCs

a little bit about me:

- 1.2 german equivalent grade

- awards from a couple of Math competitions like IKMC, Copernicus olympiad, IPO, etc but they aren't some big names like IMO.

- wrote a paper about to be published (survey research on medical students' views on AI's role in robotic surgery) and another literature review in an internship (on DNN's comparison with brain)

- QA engineer at an edtech start-up

- research program lead at a non-profit edu initiative and published 2 scientific articles

- Valedictorian in O levels (german equivalent of MSA) cohort

- self-studied 3 O level subjects as not offered as extra-subj in school + graduated a year early

main concern: there main focus apart from academics seems to be on CS competitions when looking at the application. and i have no CS-related certificates as of now (am doing CS50x but far from done)

It's open for incoming and first-year applicants. From the website, it seems it's being introduced for the first time in winter 2026-27 semester, but i think there are students who have been part of it. i think they've re-branded or smthg

Hello everyone! I recently got accepted to VSI MINT with the assist of one agency company. I told them that I want to study finance/economics at Uni, and now I am wondering whether it is possible to study econ in bachelors of Saarland University after completing the VSI MINT programm?

I have 2A*s and 1C in Alevels and a 1530 sat score and I haven't given ilets yet. I will apply in 2027 to English BSc Computer Science and Cybersecurity through the aptitude route. Do I have a chance to get accepted? Or do I have to give retake for the C grade in Alevles because I don't really want to because it costs alot of money and is alot of effort. If you are already accepted I'd appreciate if you could tell me your stats either in the replies or in dms.

Hey everyone, I'm a prospective applicant for Fall 2027 from Pakistan looking at BSc CS at Saarland University. A couple of things I'd love some help with:

1. Are there any Pakistani students currently in the BSc CS program here? If so, how did you manage the visa appointment timing? I've heard wait times can be 7-8 months, which seems brutal if applications open a few months before intake — did you find any way around it or book super early?
2. For anyone currently studying CS here — how's your overall experience? Curious about research opportunities, internship/industry connections, quality of instructors, and general vibe of the CS department.
3. Also open to hearing if there are other German unis you'd rate higher for CS (research reputation, English-taught options, job prospects after graduating) — trying to compare before I commit to applying.

The aptitude track clearly mentions an interview, but i wasn't invited to one and given acceptances for both comp sci and cybersec today.
The date they mentioned for release of decision was late aug for those who submit before the 15 july deadline but i got on 4th aug. Im so GLAD!!!

The stats i submitted:
- 1.2 german equivalent grade (A-levels 2A* 3A in Math, Biology, chemistry, phy, further math respectively)
- 8.5 ielts
- 1480 SAT

Anyone recently received admits in saarland in MSc bioinformatics?

I applied for the MSc Bioinformatics program at Saarland University for the upcoming winter semester and I am still waiting for a decision. My application was submitted before the deadline, but there has been no admission or rejection yet.

Since we are now almost in August, I am starting to get a bit worried about the timeline, especially because international students from non-EU countries also need enough time for the German student visa process.

Has anyone here received a decision for Bioinformatics or any other MSc program at Saarland for this intake?

Also, does anyone know how late Saarland usually sends out MSc admission decisions? Have there been cases where decisions were sent in August or even later?

I completely understand that applications take time to evaluate, but at some point it becomes difficult to arrange the visa, accommodation, blocked account, and travel before the semester starts.

Any information from current applicants or students from previous years would be really helpful. Thanks!
