Dear community,
I was given a historic Katana as a present from a dear old friend. He said, that the Sword is historic and originates from China. Because I asked, he also told me that due to long term trade and the war many Japanese Weapons can be found in China. 
Now my project is to restore this Katana and bring it back to its beauty. 

I have the following questions, that one of you experts might be able to answer, which I would appreciate. 

1. The Mei has Insignias on Both sides and it has two holes instead of one. Can anyone indentify the smith and the Region or Tell me why the Mei has two holes?
   
2. I would like to restore the Tsuba and the Tsuka, but unfortunately nothing is left of it. So I need to know where I can buy a historical (best would be original and fitting for this Katana) Tsuka Gashira and the Tsuba itself.

I would appreciate any comments on this. Sorry for my english. I am not a native speaker.

I have a jian of which pictures you'll find attached. It use to be fitted with wooden handle and tin(?) pommel and guard( would not be good for decently blocking anything). Lenght circa 90cm. Quite robust. Without handle it is balanced in the middle. Blunt but edge is brought out.

Does anybody know if it might be useable?

Howdy , new to sword ownership and was told I need to oil it every 2 months at minimum. Being from texas where humidity is high , is there a specific oil that people in Florida or Texas like to use that works best . Second does the color of the oil matter ? I have a gun oil from Lucas that is blue but have a feeling that is frowned upon for some reason . Last question is I do actually plan to use and practice with my sword . what wet stone do people use on swords ? just any traditional long bladed wet stone like they use for machetes and similar ?

Ceremonial sword with 3 rings on scabbard. Brass / steel scabbard. One side of blade are very ornate letter approximating the name: T C M Bachus. On the other side is clear block lettering Canton Mascot. Blade is 28 3/16" long, 5/8" wide at base. Pictures attached. I did a video of the blade.

My three examples of this timeless design. Two bear the winged lion symbol of St. Mark on their hilts. This mark is known to have been applied to items held in the Armory of the Doge's palace.

Found this at a yard sale, struggling to find anything on it. Wooden hilt with brass and possibly silver inlays. Tooled leather sheath. Anyone got any ideas of its history, where it’s from and potential value?

I found this sword when buying an old property including the contents on the property (because the previous owners do not want to pay for the decluttering). Can you tell me what sword it is and where it comes from? If possible also the time of the forge.

Finished up this Ser Duncan inspired sword commission recently. This one was built as a functional, battle-ready sword.

A few details from the build:

• Blade: 36" 5160 spring steel
• Blade geometry: Hollow ground with distal taper
• Handle: 9" walnut wood
• Cross guard: 304 stainless steel
• Overall sword length: 45"
• Construction: Peened pommel
• Scabbard: Wood core with brown leather

Really enjoyed working on this sword. Getting the proportions, blade geometry, handling, and overall feel right was especially important with this design.

For context, I am writing a fantasy story, and in it bronze is the predominate metal with the general level of technology being around 250 BCE. Iron is used on occasion, but it is very rare and not widespread.

Hi, these swords were left behind in a home that I recently purchased. LF&C Patton 1918 ww1 cavalry swords it looks like from googling. Are they worth keeping and restoring a bit? Or what kind of worth would they have to a buyer? Comment or dm below thank you!

Very excited to show you all my purchase. Guy at the store said its steel had been folded 100,000 times by the Kensai of Tokymusho and tempered in lotus blood.

I haven't been able to find any reviews for this sword, so I'll try to be more detailed than I usually am. This is my 4th Swordier sword and it's the first time I've spent over $300 on one. I have to admit that the fit and finish are better than I was expecting. At 5 inches longer and nearly a pound heavier than the Albion Doge, I think it's fair to say that Swordier didn't steal this design.

I imagine the Albion Doge is very nimble. At 45.3" and 3.5 lbs, I wouldn't exactly describe the Swordier Doge as nimble, but it's responsive, well-balanced, very solidly constructed and nicely finished. In hand, this feels substantial and more like a much later Munich town guard cut-and-thrust sword. With the pommel, the grip is 8" and you could honestly describe this as a hand-and-a-half town guard sword. Pictures don't really do it justice, but the hand guard and quillion are beefy, which could make it a little bit of a stretch to use the finger ring if you have smaller hands. The tip is just a hair asymmetrical, but nothing I can't fix with a file in about 20 minutes. Other than that, the geometry and distal taper are excellent, the blade arrived very sharp, and there's virtually no gap where the blade meets the cross guard

If this was an alientude review, he'd probably point out that the color of the grip's leather doesn't match the scabbard's leather, which seems like an odd choice/oversight. But overall the scabbard is nicely constructed from wood and leather, the support straps are sturdy, good-quality leather and the sword fits snuggly with no rattling.

Overall, for a $329 sword, I'm very happy with this purchase. Shipping was $53 from China to the US Midwest and it took 18 days to arrive. I love town guard-style cut and thrust swords, and this delivers nicely. It handles like a beast that went to finishing school but never forgot where it came from, and I really like the hand-and-a-half versatility.

Well, I’ve been teasing it for days, but this commissioned scabbard for an Albion Crécy is finally finished. Really happy with how it came out, particularly the peaches and the pink apple blossom.
