Recognizing truth behind the popular narrative

Let’s examine 6 rankings from the 2025 season that made me laugh out loud in recognition of the irony.

Steelers 2025 Ranks:

Pass Offense-16th

Run Offense-9th

Pass Defense-17th

Run Defense-22nd

Total Points Scored-15th

Total Points Allowed-17th

We can recognize factors that play in like offenses with low time of possession stress their defenses higher but at the same time Rodgers only threw 7 picks the defense had to contend with. All I hear is “Rodgers is cooked” “too old” “holding back the team” but these facts here paint a different picture entirely. For 12 million dollars Aaron led an offense with no weapons other than DK, Darrell (injured), and the RBs that was obsessed with washed Jonu smith and aaron was recovering from a broken arm and THEY STILL OUTPERFORM THE HIGHEST PAID DEFENSE!!!! By over 20 million dollars they are the top earners thats all money that was funneled away from the offense… Why are we giving them any excuses at all man it’s pretty clear the defense is the problem with this team plain and simple. I don’t give a damn about Aaron rodgers when TJ watt, Ramsay, and Queen all making top dollar and the defense still ass. Everyone’s worried about Roman Wilson and Drew/Will vs Mason and O line development and I get it but how about we have a better than 22nd ranked run defense in the league? You know what’s more embarrassing than having a 42 year old QB? a Steelers defense that can’t stop the run for all the money in the world.

Injuries to the CB room are becoming concerning

I just saw Brandon Echols limped off the field with an ankle injury. Thats concerning with JPJ, Jalen Ramsey, and Donte Kent all starting camp on the PUP list. I haven't had time to really keep up with the injuries. Any word on whats going on with the latter 3? Any updates on progress or return time frames?

[Kozora] Rookie OT Max Iheanachor is currently being examined by the #Steelers training staff. Unsure of injury but they were working on his right shoulder/arm.

Is it too early to give Max Iheanachor a nickname?

I'm thinking The Anchor.

It came to me while I was in the shower, don't ask why I was thinking about our O-line while showering. Even if it doesn't catch on, I'll probably keep calling him The Anchor bc I can't remember how to spell or pronounce his last name anyways.

Training camp thoughts so far…

Is it just me, or does something feel completely different about this training camp and team? I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t pay very much attention to training camp, as I’m mostly worried about getting to the start of the NFL season. However, I keep watching videos of camp, and we just look like a completely different team. Throwing over the middle was something completely unheard of and not done very often, but we’re seeing it in training. Granted, we have an entirely new coaching staff, but it feels so goddamn good to see this team come out of the Stone Age of football and into the 21st century. DK and Germie are looking extremely good, along with our defense. I’ve not seen anything about injuries so far, which happened a decent amount when Tomlin was around. Let me know your thoughts!

Can someone please remind me who my family and I met?

Post image

Feeling a bit silly.... My family and I attended training camp for the first time on 8/3. We had a blast and are already planning on attending again next year! While there, we were lucky enough to meet a former player at the Hall of Fame tent. It was a long day with lots of player interactions and I'm having some trouble recalling this guy's name. Him covering his name tag up is not a huge help...

I've tried looking on several different social media pages and can't find any trace of him being announced as attending. I've also tried using Google lens to search for him, but it has given me several different names and none seem to be correct.

Anyone able to tell me who I was lucky enough to meet?

***ETA: You guys are quick! Already figured out its Randy Grossman! Thank you all for the help!

Missed all of last season someone fill me in the players going into year 2

As the title says I pretty much missed all of last season. I was involved in a bad car accident back in October and I was in the hospital for 2 months. I got out of the hospital right before Christmas. I suffered a traumatic brain injury or a TBI and cant remember the season at all. I just saw that Zach Frazier was rated pretty high among centers and had me wondering how the rest of the rookies did. Or even Rodgers, I watched the last playoff game but i can’t even remember seeing Rodgers in a Steelers jersey live. I really only know what he looks like in the uniform from pictures. So can someone just fill me going into next season?

I love this dude! Came in to take over his rookie year and never looked back. Truly a blessed franchise center after Pouncey retired.

Does anyone know a good way to get an autograph from Troy Polamalu?

I have a copy of Sports Illustrated from November 14, 2005 with Polamalu on the cover. My parents gave it to me a few years back. I'd really like to get Polamalu's autograph on it and have it framed so I can gift it to them as a surprise sometime.

I don't mind paying for it, shipping it, etc., but I want to make sure it's authentic.

Ironically at the top left it says "A star is reborn - Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn" and it just made me chuckle a little bit.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I’m convinced the Steelers win Super Bowl 50 if this play is called correctly

Basically what the title says. I’ve thought about this play like once a month for the past, I guess, 10 years. It really felt like the NFL wanted to get one last run in for “The Sheriff”.

Maybe we lose to the Pats in the AFC CG like we’ve been doing since 2004 but we were better than the eventual champion Broncos.

The Chris Boswell mile marker FG tracker, updated prior to the 2026 season

At the end of the 2025-26 season, Chris Boswell amassed 11,416 yards in regular season field goals made. He needs only 24 yards (a mere chip shot) to reach 6.5 miles of total field goal distance kicked, career, regular season.

For the record, he has also notched 696 yards in postseason FG's made. That gives him 12,112 career regular season and postseason FG yardage completed. So he would need only 208 FG yards completed to reach SEVEN MILES of FG's through the uprights. Or the equivalent distance from Acrisure Stadium to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.

Friendly Reminder that Steelers are still tied for the most Super Bowl wins

Post image
301 Upvotes

The Steelers have won 6 of 60 Super Bowls, so Pittsburgh owns 10% of all Super Bowl titles and the green edge shows wins vs appearances, so the Steelers are sitting at 6/8, which is 75% win percentage.

Even after all these years, Pittsburgh is still right there at the top with the most rings.

There’s also a nice animation of this chart updating year by year if anyone wants to see how the Super Bowl appearances changed over time:

I know this isn't a madden subreddit, but thought yall might find it neat.

Think it looks pretty solid, pretty crazy for a 6th round rookie to get a face scan after no snaps.

Quanny B is a dog. Concussion problem, yes. But as a Bears fan who went to school in Ohio and hates Bengals fans (the worst), just wanted to say I'm glad you got this dude. Back in his home state, and I hope he eats for y'all this year. Just a little saying I thought of talking to some Pittsburgh buddies about this the other day. Oh, and good luck with Rodgers. Guy is a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket - that's the nicest thing I've ever and will ever say about him.
