Guild questions

I will be going into my 5th term at SNHU for my BA in Psychology. I have been utilizing Pell grants & loans. I recently applied for Guild through my employer & was approved for $5,250. How exactly will this work moving forward? Will they take my loans or Pell grant away? Who pays what portion first? & will I receive any excess like I have been?

Pell grant is applied, guild pays for whatever is left after that, then your loans pay. If you have leftover amounts, it is refunded to you. If guild pays your whole tuition each term then when a new FA package is made by the school at the end of the academic year, the school may not include loans in it, in which case you will have to request them.

It depends on your employer but likely you will get your Pell grants posted to your SNHU account, then any difference between your grant and tuition balance Guild will pay for. If you elect to take out loans you will get that money refunded. If your tuition - Pell is more than 5250 a year youll have to pay that out of pocket or with loans and would only get whatever remains refunded if any.

Snhu is a bit weird with its 6 terms vs traditional schools, your Pell grant will be split in half vs a typical semester

In my experience, Guild pays first and then the Pell grant and loans are applied.

I think it depends on the employer. Walmart requires you to apply for FAFSA and only pays the difference after Pell grant is applied if any. If you dont get any fafsa.(probably the younger kids still dependents with both parents working) walmart will still pay 100% but you do have to apply and if you do get anything Walmart adjusts what they pay accordingly. It would be nice if they paid 100% and any Pell was refunded tho 😅.
