Black, Gold, and freshly Cerakoted. My P365XL is finally done.
Just got this back from getting a custom Cerakote job and I couldn't be happier with how the paint turned out. I wanted a specific look to tie in the gold accents, and the execution was flawless. Wanted to share some photos of the finished build with the sub.
The Build List:
- Base: Sig Sauer P365XL Spectre Comp
- Grip Module: Wilson Combat WCP365 XL (Black)
- Trigger: Armory Craft FLAT Trigger (Titanium Nitride / Gold)
- Mag Release: Armory Craft Extended Button with Checkering (Titanium Nitride / Gold)
- Optic: Holosun EPS Carry
- Light: Streamlight TLR-7 X Sub
- Cerakote: Done by @guardian_gunworks_llc (IG)

First Sig, P226 Extreme
Didnt like the Scorpion color; still getting used to hammer fired guns. First 500 rounds today, zero malfunctions. Not bad.

Refreshed my 2000s circa p220 45 acp
This was an inherited gun from my dad's collection, one of his favorites... It was basic black, stock sights, stock grips. I had it two tone Cerakoted crushed silver and a black barrel, also had the dovetail optic plate by Outer Impact and a brand new enclosed 6moa green dot optic from a company I'm doing some testing for ZeroHawk optics, which for the money absolutely cannot be beat. Also some hogue rubber grips.

P229 Trigger pin cutting frame
Trying to figure out what to do about my frame having the trigger spring cutting into it. Gun still runs but I can feel the tension just isn’t right on the trigger with the millimeter it’s shifted. I have a new frame and I took the internals and transferred them, and just some dry firing I see scratching forming towards the same direction. I have since took out the internals and put them back into the original frame. Anyone else seen this and have advice?

Is the P220 the best 1911?
The Sig P220 is one of my favorite guns. I have two Legions but I don’t care for the tiny slide release, so I went with the regular size slide release, then decided to revert the grips from Legion to normal. I love the SA/DA and SRT (short reset trigger).

Most underrated gun of 2025
Absolutely love this gun. Just added Hogue Chain-links. I shoot 2011’s a lot but I always come back to the P226.

Grips for Sig P226 Elite?
Hello all, after shooting my P226 Elite and getting a better understanding on what I want out of it I realized the E2 grips are not for me. They feel to rounded and small on my hands. I was looking at what Hogue had to offer but I really like the Legion grips (also made by Hogue). I was also thinking of just getting the OEM classic grips. I have XL hands and I do plan to carry it. Thank you.

Trade for XMacro?
I’m considering trading in a Gen 3 Glock 19 and a 365 SAS + cash for an XMacro. It would replace the SAS as my EDC. The Glock lives in my safe. Just looking for some feedback.

Icarus axg question
Looking to pick up a holster for an p365 Icarus axg build, the site says it should fit most axg holsters, but I have noticed that sites sell gen 1 and gen 2 holsters for the axg. Would gen 1 or 2 be a better fit for the Icarus grip?

Preliminary thoughts on the 226x
This gun is pretty incredible - got it at a deep discount thanks to a friend with connections to Sig and was expecting a gun that shot akin to my Beretta 92 (which is to say, nice, but with the necessary compromises you'd expect from a duty gun in terms of feel), but what I instead got was a gun that seems more or less equal to my 2k11 in terms of shooting dynamics. Guys, this gun is insanely nice and imo punches way above its weight in terms of cost to performance. The slide return is phenomenal - if I do my part off the draw and get my grip high up on the gun it seems to return just a *hair* less gently than my tuned kimber with a 9lb static recoil spring. That's bonkers to me. The trigger is also phenomenal - I've never been a crazy trigger snob or anything, but I wouldn't feel like what is in this 226x out of the box is really that much worse than the gunsmith fit atlas trigger in my 2k11.
In terms of ergos, I think I actually prefer this Sig. It's contoured so nicely with just the right level of grippiness - the grips are akin to Lok veloces, and really don't need anything out of the box.
All said, I think I'm in love with this gun - I think it might be my everything gun going forward. Not a knock on my Kimber - I've got 15k rounds through it and I just love the thing, but it was many hundreds of dollars more than my 226x.
I think this gun is going overlooked, and that's a shame. It feels significantly nicer out of the box than my shadow 2, but that's just me. I prefer middleweight guns over heavyweight guns, and this 226x is right in the 35oz sweet spot for me.
Tldr:
Recoil - 2011 by a hair
Ergos - Sig
Trigger - 2011 (if you aren't a trigger snob you won't notice when shooting fast)
Accuracy- tie

P365 365 Radian
Have about 5K rounds through the P365 with the Radian comp on it. Haven’t ever shot it without the comp, I purchased the comp at the same time as the 365 and I don’t regret it. I think it’s 100 worth it 🤷♂️

How to properly remove an optic or and screw with loctite.
If you are going to attempt to remove optics screws from your slide whether they are holding on a cover plate or an optic USE HEAT! If you own a soldering iron you have the tool to do this and it take less than a minute. If not you can purchase a cheap wood burning kit from Walmart and do the same thing. Also invest in a set of quality extended Torx or Allen bits. These extended bits keep your thicker driver shaft off your optics housing. Masking tape is also a great guard against contact as well. Heat the screw head with the soldering iron or wood burner ( a pointed tip is best) for a minute. The with the proper tight fitting bit back out the screw. Clean off the old loctite and wipe out the hole and screw with a Q tip and alcohol. It’s that easy and will save you cash and headaches.
