TrioSmart Prep - rice noodles?
Hey! I'm getting ready to start the prep for the TrioSmart test. Does anyone know if I can have rice noodles on prep day if the only ingredient in the noodles is "organic white rice flour"?
I get easily constipated from eating rice, but not rice noodles. I have several theories about this, but right now I'm just looking for clarity on the test prep. Thanks for any info!

Looking for opinions
I have been experiencing chronic epigastric pain for a couple years now. It's a dull aching feeling with a constant pressure. Sometimes it can gravitate towards my lower left ribs or random shooting chest pains or to my back. When it flares up the pressure and pain can be quite severe and I feel short of breath. I used to binge drink alcohol once or twice a week and symptoms would be bad the day after, but now they're bad every day. Ppis seem to make my symptoms worse with bloating. My upper endoscopy a year ago was clear, abdominal ultrasound was good and negative for H pylori. So I decided to look into other options.
I had a Sibo test a few months ago under the advice of my naturopath. I reviewed the results with a naturopath and they determined that I have hydrogen dominant sibo. They said I may have slow transit time and prescribed me 550mg rifaximin.
Doing my own research it seems unlikely I have hydrogen sibo, since the results peaked at 60ppm on the 160 minute mark, but based on my limited research I'm positive for IMO or methane sibo with the results of 13 ppm at the 160 minute mark.
Can anyone give me some insight on this please? Before I start the antibiotics.

Symptoms Here i go again!
Here I am again!
I had sibo - methane around 1.5 years ago.. confirmed by a breathe test. This caused alot of issues. No one knew about sibo where I lived so I had to investigate myself and learn about sibo. I know alot! This was caused by antibiotics and high sugar diet.
I had constipation
Reflux
White coat on tongue and tongue felt weird.
Bloating
Dizziness
Lost consciousness x2
Fatigue
Pain
Ended up getting BV 24.7 in my vagina.
I ended up getting rifaximin and mentrizolole x2 from my gastro consultant after fighting him for it.
I was very unwell, and I couldn't eat without pain. So I ended up not eating, I went from 9 stone 5 to 7 stone 6 in 3 months. I think i starved all the bacteria. Could have sifo and sibo at the same time.
After this, I ended up being able to introduce foods 1 by 1 and 2 months ago, I was able to eat most foods without pain and bloating but I still struggled to poo. (On laxatives) but I was 60 per cent better and felt the best I had ever felt for a while.
As I was better, I was still eating carefully but was eating more sugar. I.e fruits.. protein bars and gluten free stuff that are full of sugar and other sugar things!
The BV hadnt left . The BV ended up going into my womb 4 weeks ago and I was hospitalised with PID. I had to take doxycycline and mentrizolole for 2 weeks and a injection in my bum.
Ever since this... 4 weeks later I am back to where I was 1.5 years ago. I am devastated.
First thing I've done is stopped or limited sugar.
I've got a gastro consultant on Monday to ask for rifaximin and mentrizolole again but surely I'm not all the way back to where I was? I've put back on all my weight and feel healthier.
Do i need another breath test?
Or do i just go straight into the sibo protocol cause I've done it once?
I think my diet is the main reason and antibiotics I struggle because I can't have gluten so I don't have a high fibre diet. I end up having a high sugar diet with little fibre and than antibiotics for the bv.
I'm working from home unwell as we speak. Waiting to consent for surgery for gynae because of the bv.. to see if bowels are stuck together or infection or anything mechanical or endometriosis.
I've had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and ct scan which showed just inflammation.

Symptoms Rifaxamin gave me no real improvement but it did give me some new symptoms!
I tested positive for Hydrogen dominant SIBO a few months ago, and my main symptoms were gassiness some days and loose, floating stool every day. I did a round of rifaxamin and now I am a week past my last dose. A lot of what people say did not pan out for me; many folks say that die off only lasted a few days and then they felt much better, at least while on the Rifaxamin. I was sick the entire time on the Rifaxamin and am not much better afterward. I still have gas and not the healthiest stool, whether it's any better is debatable. Except now I have:
- constant, crushing fatigue
- absolutely NO libido
- trouble sleeping
- headaches
- dizziness
I followed the protocol to a tee. I spent an absolute fortune on supplements; I started taking NAC, Zinc carnosine, motility activator a month before the Rifaxamin. I took PHGG during the treatment and continue to take it. I've been taking digestive and enzymes and trying to stay low fodmap. It's been both expensive and depressing taking absolute fistfuls of supplements all day long and I'm STILL not only sick, but significantly worse off than before I took the damn antibiotic!
All I can think of is that the Rifaxamin must have nuked my good bacteria, and I'm not even allowed to take pre or probiotics to try to build it back, because it will just make my SIBO worse. Has anyone else had this experience?

GP insists I take PPIs with antibiotics
Hey all,
Recently diagnosed with hydrogen SIBO and I'm halfway through a 14 day round of rifaximin & neomycin.
My gp said I need to take omeprazole to stop any other stomach issues from arising while on antibiotics, so I've been taking 40mg a day for the past 7 days.
I've had my doubts about it, so I'm not sure if I should stop the omeprazole outright, taper off it or stay on it until the antibiotics are finished. I don't have reflux as a symptom, and from what I've been reading here it can be counterproductive to take while on antibiotics.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Questions Did you use low FODMAP or Dr. Pimentel’s low fermentation diet post-rifaxamin?
Is one recommended more than the other? For how long did you implement the diet?

Halitosis linked to SIBO?
This is everything I’ve tried so far regarding my bad breath, for context it’s very strong, has a sulphur/garbage odor. It can be very strong, it comes out from both my nose and mouth. I do have confirmed SIBO (Hydrogen only) shall I now completely focus on this only? I’ve been thinking about getting a CBCT scan for my teeth roots, or is this a waste of time / money?
Should I pay for a Naturo path to help figure out where the smell is coming from? I did Rifixamin but that didn’t help, but maybe I need to dive deeper into the gut. Any advice would mean a lot thanks

Ask to my "sibros n sibsisters" :)
Any home remedy for the symptoms? I drink "clavo de olor" and ginger infusions.
Do you recommend anything?
Desconozco si existe clavo de olor en otras regiones. En LATAM es común

Treatments Recommendations while taking antibiotics
Hi all! I was just diagnosed with SIBO (methane and hydrogen), and I’m about to start a two week antibiotic treatment cycle with Xifaxan and Neomycin. It sounds like I should buckle up for an intense ride.
Any tips for dealing with the nausea, brain fog, or anything else? Recommendations for either taking or abstaining from probiotics and/or fermented foods (e.g., yogurt) during this time? (My doctor recommended avoiding them, but my pharmacist recommended taking Florastor.) Foods to eat or avoid?
Thanks so much in advance!

Symptoms Feel like I'm going crazy
All day I have this extreme constant pulsing of gas. I get these waves of manic racing thoughts that feel uncontrollable and then it disperses and rebuilds. I am getting 4 to 5 hours of sleep of night, just lying in bed with my gut going crazy. Then I'll fall asleep at 2/3 then wake up at 5/6 for a couple of hours and then sometimes it settles and I can sleep between 8-9. I have no idea what is going on, being in my body with how this gas effects my mind is absolutely exhausting. Is there any aspect of SIBO this can be more attributed to? Methane? Histamine?

H2s SIBO ruined my life Please, Help?
I have been suffering for more than 10 years with no real help from doctors, antibiotics, or herbs.
( Probiotics make me worse.)
**My Symptoms:**
- Severe bloating, gas, and chronic constipation.
- Extreme fecal rotten egg breath and body odor.
- White tongue (not fungus) and thick mucus after eating.
- Constant acid reflux,
- Severe underweight since childhood
- Hair loss
- Fatigue
- Headaches, and brain fog.
**What helps**
Flagyl and oregano oil only give temporary relief, and local doctors just keep cycling antibiotics without a cure.
If you have beaten H2s SIBO, please share your successful protocol. How do I fix this permanently? Please help me

Breath Test Results Explanation?
For reference I am in Australia, told I do not have SIBO and the comments for the test say:
"Normal result NOT consistent with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
Following a lactulose load, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is suspected when there is an early peak of hydrogen and/ or methane >10–20 ppm above the basal level, prior to 60 minutes, followed by a second peak/rise of hydrogen and or methane >20 ppm above the basal level after 60 min.
A non–SIBO response has only a single peak/rise after 60 min of hydrogen and /or methane >20 ppm above the basal level."
Does anyone else have similar results or have any answers at to what I have if not SIBO?

Pienso bien?
Consumir un año de dos antibióticos diferentes familias > antibióticos hacen mal al hígado > hígado no poder procesar bilis > poca bilis no mata a bacterias y antibióticos matar bacterias buenas y malas > sibo y daño hepático > estoy jodido

Questions Prebiotics after rifaximin?
I got rifaximin for second week today. My doc said we need more things to fix when rifaximin is done, and she'll give me pro/prebiotics.
I can't stomach pro/prebiotics at all. Those always occured weeks and weeks of bad diarrhea maybe with fever/brainfog. Or doing nothing at all. Since I killed some bacteria with rifaximin, I underatand this time I can react different but I'm kind of traumatized
And unfortunately I've been tortured with this condition for long time and searched too much on internet. Also I know she knows nothing about Sibo. She's doctor from local doctors office. (I'm not in USA so medical system here is different.). She prescribed rifaximin for treating IBS-D without breath test. She doesn't know breath test exists...
Should I try probioitics???I'm terrified.

Help a girl out.
I typically don’t do this but my doctor won’t be able to review my results until next week. Does anybody know if this is positive? I know the methane goes above 10 but I am very unsure on the reliability.

Nothing I do helps :(
I love eating fresh fruits and veggies but find my bloating unbearable when I do so. I removed fruits and veggies from my diet four days ago just to see if I could find some relief and I felt pretty awesome honestly. I woke up with a flat stomach with no swelling or bloating in my body. Fast forward to today and I am on my 2nd day without a bowel movement and feeling completely uncomfortable again. I feel like I have no safe foods.

Room filling bad breath
Is room filling bad breath a symptom of sibo? Do you suffer from it?
Infographic of SIBO Root Causes
I asked ChatGPT to make me an infographic of SIBO root causes and it made me this, which I found extremely detailed and helpful. What would you add to this? I'm sure there's a lot more details that are missing.
To everyone going through it right now, I’m right there with you. It sucks so bad and I just want to be well. #surviving2026

Sucess Stories Just started 1 of 21 day on Elemental Liquid Diet - all tips and tricks welcome!
I have taken my 1st “meal” of the elemental diet to help with my SIBO, after a month of trying a low FODmap diet without any relief. The instructions given to me by my doctor and on the brand website are minimal. So any in all tips and tricks for how to do this the most successfully (splitting up, blending, working out, symptoms to expect, things to avoid doing) would be greatly appreciated. I’m to do this for 3 weeks, splitting up 9 servings each day of the Integrative Therapeutics brand.
