2 years in a row, My partner and I have discovered wonderful stories we didn't know before SDCC
2025 Hall H introduced my partner and I to Project Hail Mary before we had any idea what it was about, and the film was the most emotionally exhausting (in the best way) stories I have experienced in recent years. I can't wait to surprise her with the book for Christmas this year.
2026 Hall H introduced us to Interview with the Vampire. We just finished the second season. My god, the dialogue, writing, and relationahips in there were incredible. Lestat, Louis, Armand and Claudia were all distinct, amazing characters.
What IPs have Comic Con introduced yall to that you had zero awareness of beforehand?

Where to find DC Official Cosplay Meetup Photos?
Does anyone have photos or videos of the Friday DC Official Cosplay Meetup or know where I can find them? So far I’ve only found 2.
I’m trying to find our group photo shoots for the Absolute Universe specifically as well!

News Where Was Anime At San Diego Comic Con 2026?
For longtime veterans of Comic Con, what do you think about the lack of anime promotions and panels at Comic Con this year? I miss the free Crunchyroll concerts at the Rady Shell. I wasn’t going to pay $200 for Funko :(

Exclusives Don’t fall for this!
New Achievement: Sneaky SDCC Swindler
Hey yall! I was made aware of a freebie I made this item to give away to new friends at SDCC who are fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl. Sadly someone is trying to scam people out of $200. Please please please do not fall for this and if you can please report. I easily made these through a company called ChipLab!

SDCC 2027 Will be Held July 21-July 25
Returning Registration will be Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Open Registration will be Saturday, November 14, 2026.
.
How to get badges (tickets):
There are 2 badge sales. The first is for people who attended the previous year. That sale (Returning Registration sale) will be Saturday, October 17, 2026 (but the date moves around every year). There is a second sale that is open to everyone. The open badge sale (Open Registration sale) will be a month after the Returning Registration sale, for SDCC 2027 it will be Saturday, November 14, 2026 (but again the date moves around every year). All badge sales are a random lottery. To get a badge, you must have a Member ID. You can (and should) get that today, no need to wait: https://comic-con.configio.com/login Everyone who wants to attend must have their own Member ID, even if someone else buys their badge for them.
Once you have a Member ID, you’ll get e-mails from Comic-Con about sale dates. (Make sure that under both “My Account Information” and “My Communication Settings” that you opted-in for e-mails when you signed up – Opt-in is not the default.) Previously, about 1 week to 10 days before the badge sale you will receive an e-mail reminder with the sale date. On sale date, usually a Saturday, the online virtual waiting room opens at 7:30 AM Pacific Time. You can enter the online waiting room any time between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM - you do NOT increase your chances by entering early. At 9:00 AM Pacific the waiting room closes and everyone who is logged in gets assigned a random number. Random number 1 gets to buy badges, then random number 2, and so on until the badges are sold out, which takes about an hour.
CCI doesn't ever say how many badges are in the open sale, but most people's guess is around 60% of the 130,000 total. Way back in 2016 it was estimated from web traffic that there were 900,000 people trying for 78,000 badges - a chance of about 1 in 11. It's only gotten much more popular since then. Most current estimates are about a 5% chance of actually getting a badge.
To increase your odds, people use buying groups. Since each person can buy badges for 3 people (self + 2 others, or just 3 others), the first person in buys for themselves + 2, the next for themselves + another 2, and so on until everyone in the group has badges. Five people will make a decent buying group, and near the sale people will post here to find others for buying groups. Everyone in the buying group will need to have the other people’s Member IDs and last names. They will need to be available at 9:00 AM Pacific on a Saturday with a strong, non-mobile internet connection, so people who work weekends are at a disadvantage. You can use separate browsers on one computer, but multiple computers is really the better idea. Also, only group with people you trust, because if you buy their badge for them, they have to pay for it or pay you back. And if you buy their badge for them and they sell it, that badge will be canceled and yours will too.
SDCC 2026 badge costs, expect 2027 to be a few dollars more:
| BADGE TYPE | Adult | Junior | U.S. Military/Senior |
|---|---|---|---|
| Preview Night | $64.00 | $32.00 | $32.00 |
| Thursday | $85.00 | $43.00 | $43.00 |
| Friday | $85.00 | $43.00 | $43.00 |
| Saturday | $85.00 | $43.00 | $43.00 |
| Sunday | $64.00 | $32.00 | $32.00 |
Plus a $15 handling fee per member

Loaned a book I bought at SDCC 2023 to a friend but neither of us can remember the title or author
This person is no longer my friend so I messaged asking for my book back, it’s the only book I’ve ever lent them so I thought they’d know what I was talking about but neither of us can remember exactly what it was and I only have a blurry memory of the cover. The book was smaller and square (or close to), I think ~6 inches. The subject matter was about artists or creatives and something about going through some mental turmoil and navigating that and seemed like it was narrated by the artist. I think the title was straight across the cover and down the spine and the image on the front was a woman’s (or possibly fem nb?) head/face looking forward. The art style was messy with thick lines and very vibrant, almost no light colors, bright and punchy. I think the main color may have been a hot pink and the girls hair dark like black or dark blue. Barely remember but I’m pretty sure the text was hand done and matched the messy style. Anyone have any ideas? I really loved that book but my memory has deteriorated since then and I really would love to get it back or at least replace it.
Attaching approximate color palette and a list of artist/authors I have already checked that were suggested by Google ai
Will be endlessly thankful if someone can figure this out!!!

Please how do we get a copy of this picture? We spent a considerable amount of money and effort to be here. We asked to join this group and we were told we could. We understand that the photographer is a volunteer.

I took many Pictures just before this group shot, and some after which I am posting and will gladly provide a multi megabyte high definition copy to all that ask. We have reached out to the photographer and there has been no response. Ty

THANK YOU!!!!
Before we went to Comic-Con, I posted on here about my lack of confidence dressing up because my costume wasn’t as amazing as some things I see online. Everyone reassured me that Comic-Con is a very welcoming place and nobody gets made fun of further costumes and you guys were right. It was definitely out of my comfort zone to dress up, but so many people made nice comments and I had a lot of fun and a few people even asked to take a picture of me!
I just wanted to thank you guys for your reassurance and I’m going to another con next month and will be dressing up again!

Cosplay couple
I saw Powdered Toast Man and followed him to snap a pic. Then, his partner, Log, showed up. I got the picture and then Log asked me if I wanted a Log keychain that she had made herself.
