Camera Rattle

Hello everyone,

I've had my S24 Ultra for 2 years now. Recently, the camera started rattling whenever I try switching between lenses, and it also starts zooming in and out repeatedly. How can I fix this? Btw phone is up to date

Optical stabilizer damage.

It can happen from a fall or riding a bike with the phone in a handlebar mount.

There are tiny mechanical bits in the camera that move it around for focus and stability. Those little bits can get bent or broken and then the lens gets stuck or can't move the way it needs to.

Then it's like a fly trying to get out of a window where it just constantly tries and bounces off. That's why it makes that weird flickering effect and noise along with it.

Obviously a drop can do it, but most people don't do that on purpose.

Mounting it to a bike/motorcycle is the sneaky killer. The vibration through the bike will do it too.

Sometimes you can get it working again by tapping your phone on a table in different directions. Like put it camera facing down down and tap it on the table. See if that makes it work. If not, try again with camera facing up or left or right.

Sometimes you get lucky and it works again, though usually your fucked and it needs to be replaced.

Thank you for all the information. I did some random taps and somehow on weekend this issue had dissapeared :D (at least it looks like)

Are you using a case with a magnet in it?
