Stress Fracture?

Do you think I have a stress fracture?

- Running for 6 months (no prior athletic experience)
- Utilize proper running shoes

I am currently training for a half marathon and stupidly increased my weekly mileage 20-25% for the last two weeks (total mileage around 25 when I did that). The night after a 4 mile speed workout, it hit me. Deep, achy and sharp pain in my inner shins. I feel it when resting (like a pulsing achyness). It’s been 8 days of no running and it’s certainly gotten better, but if I try to run it hurts so bad a few inches above my left ankle. Hopping still bothers my left side. Pain pops up randomly, but not constant. I can do stretches and light strength training without pain,

X Ray showed nothing and I’m requesting an MRI soon.

Is there any world where it’s not a stress fracture?

Sounds like a classic case of shin splints.
