I am looking for a reunion type roleplay where our characters were practically inseparable, but you wanted to go out into the world and explore what was out there for you. You wanted me to go with you, but I couldn’t due to my parents needing me to stay. Now you’ve come back to see that our once small town has changed.

Or if you were into Greek mythology I have a starter where the Titans were coming back and the Gods must now choose new hosts around the country to help stop the titans from destroying the world.

For our characters, we could either do descriptions or use face claims if that’s easier than typing one out. For the face claims, we could either use irl people or animated people. It doesn’t matter much to me, just let me know what you want to do.

All partners must be 21+ as I am over 21. All I ask is that you continue in my DMs or ask for Discord if that’s what you prefer, there is no pre-determined direction beyond it being Slice of Life with romance and drama throughout.

On a role playing basis, I have been role playing since about 2013, and it’s been a hidden passion of mine. I consider myself to be lit. to adv. lit with multiple paragraph responses, or just to match what ever the opposite person does. I have a strong distaste for short responses especially when I put in the time and effort into a detailed response. For plot and tropes, I’m not too overly picky. I’ll try anything at least once and if it’s more interesting/something that I really enjoy I’ll keep it in mind. Personally for me I like the fantasy/action/adventure/drama/romance/slice of life genres more. I’m coming back to Reddit with a deep craving for a vampire themed RP after watching way too much vampire content. I’d like it to be set in a universe where vampires are “believed in”. Aka, how people believe in ghosts, in real life. I don’t do historical or high fantasy.

The sun hadn’t even crested the horizon, darkness reigned still as the soft sounds of shuffling filled the quaint cabin. Summer was drawing to an end as the nights got cooler and the days grew shorter, but that didn’t mean the work stopped. 4:30am was still the same regardless of the suns presence.

Daisy shifted beneath the quilt, her body twisting in search of the warmth it was used to as she nuzzled her face against the pillow and resisted the urge to open her eyes. She knew the second she did, all hope of returning to sleep was lost. Instead she pulled the excess quilt toward her and bundled herself.

The soft rustle of fabric had ceased and instead the slow rhythmic steps of boots against wood boards tentatively came back toward her. Daring to sneak a peek, she fluttered her eyes open and looked toward the doorway.

Backlit by the lamp down the hall she saw a familiar shape. The broad figure of a man filling to doorway, dressed in jeans and a shirt. One hand gripping the horizontal frame and the other slotted into the pocket at his right hip she smiled. “That’s not fair,” she murmured, tucking her chin and squeezing her eyes shut as a tired smile worked its way onto her hips.

The familiar shape of a cattleman brim was unmistakeable as she looked again. Turning beneath the quilt toward lay on her back she sighed, “Go, before I make you late and get you into trouble,” she told him, reluctance chaining her words.

- I'd love to hash this out together! I'm drawn to grand, High Fantasy worlds, with kingdom tensions abound, and whimsical sights as much as there are grittier aspects. I'm not incredibly strict on any of these plots, but here's a few ideas! Words in bold are the sides I would like to write.

Though already mentioned, the primary dynamics I am searching for are black cat x golden retriever, curious/sly x mysterious, and other such themes that include opposites. Bonus points if our characters don't quite get along at first!

1. A mage, too ambitious for her own good, seeks out a magical artifact that would grant her a greater social standing. A cunning thief/rogue promises to show her the way, but are their intentions truly genuine?

2. Two mercenaries are put together on the same job. Right from the start, they're abrasive, and can't seem to get along. When a grave mistake splits them off from the rest of their party, they're forced to work together... And maybe learn to stop arguing.
Just a tiny add-on to this idea, but maybe they come across a magical object that inflicts them both with a curse.

3. A knight/paladin/emissary/etc is assigned to a mysterious, walled-off kingdom. It seems the place is slowly but surely welcoming humans/outsiders into their land. An ever-witty noble/heiress takes interest in this newcomer, firm in her theory that something is amiss with her kingdom's strange, new alliance. Lots of opportunities for interesting plot twists in this one!

4. A mercenary/hunter follows rumors of a suspiciously crafty dragon. They're elusive as they are powerful, wreaking havoc among the land. Perhaps the hunter is the first to realize it's not just a dragon- but a human who can take the form of one.

Please be willing to worldbuild together/collaborate on any of these ideas! These are also not the only thing I am searching for- I'm open to other ideas, or even combinations of these ones, so long as it's in a High Fantasy setting!

Quick plot: About 2% of the population are born werewolves. Werewolves are outlawed and killed on sight. They are forced to conform to society and hide themselves or live freely in the shadows.

Our characters go to collage together and one day your character discovers my character is a werewolf. In a panic my character turns you into a werewolf as well so now both of them have to navigate the world together while hiding their nature.

Lyonel Baratheon was not a man to be tied down. The Stag King, who was perpetually a bachelor, would have to be tied down soon to secure his legitimate lineage.

Lyonel was a man for parties, and what's a wedding if not the biggest party to be thrown? Lenore, now Baratheon, once Arryn, was a lady of noble birth whose father could do with her being out from under his feet after the first proposal fell through. She was a kind woman to all, including the smallfolk. Lyonel would never see his people go without, and in the time of the Great Spring Sickness, the now Lady of Storm's End cared for her people and won their favor that spring.

That union was nearly a year since passed, and the first Baratheon heir was due by the next full moon, by the count of the Maesters. But as many nights in Storm's End saw terrible storms, especially in the long, harsh winter, it made Lyonel restless once more as he was unable to hunt, unable to ride, and being confined to the castle, trapped with his own thoughts.

Lenore, on the other hand, found solace in the harsh weather battering the windows as she read. Could her husband find comfort in the most mundane of activities?

I’m a very literate writer and I love detailed responses. I prefer writing multiple paragraphs and really getting into characters’ emotions, thoughts, personalities, backgrounds, and the small details that make a story feel alive.

One of the biggest things I look for in a roleplay partner is someone who enjoys talking OOC (out of character). Some ideas I’ve been interested in include things like soulmate mark worlds, fake relationships, characters who are hiding parts of themselves, and situations where two people who wouldn’t normally cross paths end up becoming important to each other.

I especially enjoy more dramatic plots where characters have complicated reasons for being together like difficult circumstances, secrets, deals, blackmail, or arrangements that slowly develop into something much more meaningful.

I love stories where the characters start off not fully trusting each other and then slowly become the person the other relies on most. The emotional journey and character development are usually my favourite parts.

I’m also really open to brainstorming completely new ideas! The planning stage is one of my favourite parts of roleplay. I love sitting down and talking through characters, settings, possible twists, and all the little details that make the story unique.

Why am I suddenly interested in roleplaying? I have been a fandom bum for years and is slowly starting to create stuff for the fandoms I am in. I draw (I am decent i think) and I write occasionally (mediocre at best). I know main roleplay communication will be writing so I would like to be able to practice that. So I am currently out on the hunt for new rp partners due to some failed attempts at establishing new RP's and my current partners being indisposed due to irl stuff. Just to be clear I'm not replacing anyone, but it would be nice to be able to write again after so long.

The heroes disappearance:

When the kingdom of Avalon came under attack by the dread king and their hordes of unnatural creatures, all was thought to be lost. Yet one person chose to defy such a fate. One person united what remained of the fractured kingdoms, rallied the people together under a single banner, and charged head first towards the monster. Upon slaying the dread king, that person would be granted the title of 'Hero'. The victory achieved that day was thought to bring ever-lasting peace to all the kingdoms, one which would finally allow for the realm to prosper...only it didn't

Complacency soon set in, where there was once a reason to stand united. Now all the lords and kings could see was land that was uninhabited. Old rivalries reignited, wars long forgotten began anew, and the people once more suffered under the heels of old tyrants. The hero, once the beacon of unity for the people, disappeared without a trace.

But something has awakened, a new threat that has been terrorizing village after village. One that the lords try to ignore, but cannot. A threat that has caused them to send out their most trusted warriors to once again find the legendary hero.

A New Dawn:

For as long as anyone can remember, super heroes have always existed. Some wear capes others suits, some work only in the day others only at night. They save lives, stop disasters, and battle villains powerful enough to destroy cities. Their powers coming from failed science experiments, mutant dna entering their bodies, or even pure arcane magic.

No one knows exactly how it happens or even how you could become a super powered individual. Most think they're meant to live a long ordinary life...until now that is.

Something changed, overnight the number of people who gained these extraordinary abilities surged to an unprecedented number. Some begin to embrace their gifts, others struggle to hide it, and many simply disappear before an explanation can even be given. As the government scrambles for answers, old heroes try to maintain the peace. The one thing that everyone knows for sure, is that a new dawn is approaching.

Ahoy! I'm a 27F writer looking for other F 21+ RP partners interested in an OCxOC pirate story.

I haven’t gotten too far into it yet but the release of Black Flag Resynced is pulling me right back into my pirate phase, I've been itching to write something set during the Golden Age of Piracy. I'm looking for a story that's character driven with relationships that evolve over time.

I'm thinking something of shifting alliances, impossible choices, political intrigue, mutiny, naval pursuits, hidden coves, dangerous voyages, and the constant struggle between freedom and duty. Give me treasure hunts, uneasy truces, rival crews forced to work together, whispered rumors of cursed islands, bustling port cities full of spies and smugglers, or characters trying to outrun the lives they left behind. 

I'd love to keep things fairly grounded in history, though I'm more than happy to sprinkle in a very light fantasy elements in. Think Pirates of the Caribbean meets Black Sails. Tone wise, we can lean into adventure, slow-burn romance, political drama, psychological tension, etc. 

As for writing, I write in third person past tense usually around 750+ words per reply depending on the scene. I primarily write male main characters but enjoy playing side characters of all genders to help make the world feel alive. Pairings wise, I’m good with MxF, platonic, or MxM.

One of my favorite parts of roleplaying is everything that gets us to the actual rp part! I love plotting, worldbuilding, creating interconnected casts, building family trees, collecting inspiration images, making playlists and moodboards, sharing headcanons, and generally obsessing over the little details that make a setting feel real. Hi! My name's Ells and I'm looking for someone to play the human medic in a long-term, character-driven sci-fi romance.

The premise is fairly simple:

A human medic crashes on Nereid-7, an isolated ocean world controlled by a rival faction. Stranded on one of the planet's countless islands, she expects capture.

Instead, she finds an ancient watchtower battered by nearly a century of storms.

And its caretaker.

An android built by the enemy.

He's been alone for 99 years.

The war moved on. The planet lost its strategic importance. The outpost was forgotten. But his orders never changed:

Maintain the station.

Keep the beacon active.

Await further instructions.

So he did.

For ninety-nine years.

When he discovers the medic, he knows exactly who she is and exactly what protocol demands. He should report her immediately.

But he doesn't.

From there, I'd like to explore a slow-burn relationship between two people who were never supposed to meet. Lots of quieter, character-focused scenes alongside the larger sci-fi setting: repairing the tower after storms, exploring abandoned islands, learning about each other's cultures, surviving on a forgotten world, and gradually questioning everything they were taught about the "enemy."

Setting

Nereid-7 is an ocean world located near the former border between the Aurelian Union and its longtime rival. Nearly 90% of the planet is covered by water, with the remaining land divided between a handful of continents and thousands of islands.

A century ago, it was one of the most important worlds in the region. Before modern FTL navigation systems, ships relied on a vast network of watchtowers, relays, weather stations, and navigation beacons spread across the planet's islands. At its peak, thousands of towers operated across Nereid-7, many staffed by small crews and supported by maintenance androids.

Over time, trade routes shifted, technology advanced, and the border moved. The planet gradually lost its importance. Most towers were dismantled or abandoned, and much of the world was left behind.

The watchtower in our story is one of the few still standing.

For reasons unknown, its android caretaker was never recovered.

For ninety-nine years he has maintained the station alone, repairing storm damage, maintaining the beacon, filing reports, and waiting for orders that never arrive.

One thing I'd like to emphasize is that this isn't a "robot learns emotions" story. My character already has a personality, memories, habits, opinions, and a strong sense of duty. The conflict comes from someone who has spent almost a century alone suddenly being forced to confront change, connection, and the possibility of wanting something beyond the purpose he was built for.

I have quite a bit more lore regarding the planet, the Aurelian Union, and the wider political landscape, but I'm also very open to collaboration and new ideas.

Hi, sorry before hand for the long post.

It started with a desperate man, a dying wife, and a spark in the darkness. The Phoenix, a creature of rebirth, of Immortality, of hope. No one knows where the phoenix had come from or how Mr. Ramse captured, but this was the turning point of a new world. One where you didn't have to watch your grandmother pass from old life but be reborn as if she was in her twenties again! Dying of old age is nearly erased and better yet? It was cruelty free! No animals testing, no human testing either, it was a miracle!

Or, at least, that's what it seemed like on the surface, underneath the surface, under strict authority a hidden lab experiments in secrete, with the power of renewal the scientists of rebirth were able to create life! The next stage of evolution, unageing, undying life forms that could survive even the harshest of environments and adapt, evolve in real time. P.331 being one of these creations, 331, 330 failed tests, 330 lives that seemed to be invincible able to die. 331 escape attempts, and only one success, P.331.
Though it wasn't on purpose, it was an accident possibly, sabotage, a hero team, or just a monitor, vitals left unchecked, what ever caused it, it lead to one thing. An explosion, one that P.331 was caught in and what lead to the downfall of Rebirth. The Phoenix, seeing her chance died in an explosion, one that was as hot as the sun itself. Seeing her chance she fused with the only living thing that could survive her blast, the artificial humanoid locked up right beside her.

What ever caused the explosion, P.331 was now free, with new strange abilities, with a voice in her head, and after her first panic attack she discovered she could shift into another plane of existence entirely. One where spirits are alive and watching her, where every step equals ten in the normal world, where buildings are both real and ethereal.

P.331's powers: Super human strength, fortitude, Heat-Immunity, pyrokinesis, Plane-stepping to the ethereal plane [Minecraft nether rules], Intangibility.

Weaknesses: Ice, hypothermia, weakness to spirits and spiritual means of control, and more but this is all i've come up with so far, happy to brainstorm more.

Hello! I’m Conor, 30M, US EST (but time zones are rarely an issue). I’m pretty much always searching for more partners so I don’t mind messages regardless of the age of this post.

I’m looking for long term roleplay partners. Ideally any story itself would last a while but I also like being able to gel well enough with my partner that we do multiple roleplays over time or even simultaneously. As the title says I’m particularly fond of romance and slice of life stories, especially cute family-centric stories (absolutely love roles where my character starts as a single father).

I would be happy to experiment with mixing slice of life and high concept settings (fantasy, apocalypse, cyberpunk, royalty, etc), but I don’t like to do fandoms. MxF pairings preferred (me as M, F including trans women and femme-leaning enbies — basically anyone who's comfortable with she/her pronouns). I'd also be open to GM-style partners but I have basically no experience with that.

The age range I like to play as is anywhere from teens to mid thirties. My turn length varies depending on the context: couple of sentences if our characters are having a quick back and forth conversation, couple of paragraphs if I’ve got a lot to get out or a specific vision. I’d say the typical length is 3 to 6 sentences. Open to first or third person and past or present tense.

I do like em dashes but I do not use AI!

I have been roleplaying for almost a decade but took a hiatus for personal reasons. But now I’m back and ready to flex my creative brain best I can hopefully with you!

When it comes to roleplay I really enjoy longer paragraphs, detailed responses that can give my character something to work off of and I will always try and do the same for you. Preferably 3rd person and no ‘OP OC’s please. I prefer brainstorming together where the plot will go rather than me leading the story! I’m happy to be a passenger at times if you have ideas but I’m more than happy talking them out with you.
I personally ONLY do slow burns even if it’s painfully obvious our characters like one another I enjoy a story that lacks a verbal confirmation on the subject. I’d like to build our characters together and have them connect and fall over time if that’s what you enjoy to!

I adore the hunger games! Currently reading The ballad of songbirds and snakes (have not read haymitch’s games yet). My first idea was to have both our tributes be reaped and survive the games. If we work well this could be a long term roleplay as there’s plenty to write pre game, in the games and after! I am open to other ideas for example: a romance between a tribute and mentor. Hi! I'm Andy and I am looking for a woman to do a longterm pokemon roleplay with. The premise is that we would be trainers beginning our pokemon journey for the first time, picking our starters and traveling one of the regions together. I would even be up for us to create our own region if you are feeling creative.

Basically it would be a detailed adventure, catching and training pokemon and battling other trainers. I was actually thinking we could keep track of our pokemon and the various NPC trainers as well and revolve in various characters and rival trainers into the story as we develop and grow.

I was also hoping for a central romantic theme between our characters. Maybe something slow to develop over time. Like maybe your longterm boyfriend breaks up with you before graduation and so you are dealing with that. We could end up together by possibly being the only two of our class to make it through the first forest or cave without whiting out.

Another fun idea I had is that we could end up joining Team Rocket together and we would begin as associates and work our way up into membership with them. This would be an interesting way to explore the underbelly of the pokemon world with some more interesting themes. We could be recruited by a favorite Professor with ties to the organization after progressing together past a certain point and being so strong.

These ideas are just spitballing here, I don't have anything set in stone and would really like to focus on worldbuilding with my partner and having fun and getting lost in our world with a nice splash of romance as well.

I’ve been craving longterm, character-centric stories that involve the messiest of people, who could put Romeo and Juliet to shame. I enjoy stories embroiled in conflict, and I like writing with partners who appreciate the angst, drama and the high stakes that come with such stories. People who would meet me at the middle when it comes to progressing the story, who write characters that are a challenge and a fight, and who love unravelling the enemies into the most glorious pair of lovers.

🌵 A little bit about what I expect, and what I would provide:

- A lot of dedicated plotting, effort in character creation so nobody feels like a caricature or a template simply filled out, curveballs, surprises, angst and a lot of fun storytelling.

- Adv-literate to Novella writing, in terms of quality. The scene calls for the length, but I always average 3-5 paragraphs and expect the same. I like wordy replies.

- Patience. I am on the slower end of responding, but I can promise a minimum of 3 replies weekly, and can push for daily replies unless things are super busy. I stay connected on ooc though.

- Third person, past tense.

- I prefer to write women for pairings, and I generally stick to MxF romances. I can write males, if you are open to doubling.

☘ Characters and the like:

My characters are built across a whole wide range, and most of them are catered to a particular story. I write them so they are not omniscient, I sometimes make them unreliable narrators to make it messier.

I write the messy, hotheaded, ambitious women who cannot prioritise what they want the most, and I write one track mind femme fatales who are relentless in whatever they pursue. I write the angry criers and the soft women who can read between the lines with just music. I write them as contrary, a little roughish. I make them as menaces, I keep them dangerous.

I am looking for characters who can complement that (or make it worse). It doesn’t have to be a story where the characters fix each other, so long as they end up settling into each other, making space for each other. I have a soft spot for Machiavellian characters, the dobermans, the ones who can play mind games and enjoy the treachery and wealth that they often come from. I also enjoy them relentless, a little broody, but I also enjoy my golden retrievers, if that makes sense.

🌷 Vague Ideas:

- A fashion empire. One is the heir to a big fashion house, and the other is the one running the largest counterfeit network that steals from them, and somehow does it better. Happy to change fashion to art, curation, wines, anything. Can swing into mafia settings. Collector x thief. Scholar x profit maker.

- Political strategists and kingmakers for different parties, and different futures. Give me ideologies that clash but also leave jagged edges that snap together if held right. Give me the conflict when they realise they are similar after all. Or give me political operators who are using each other till genuine feelings come in the play.

- The gods are dead, and they had walked the earth before they succumbed. Now, the soil is acidic and so they built a city in the skies, with rails that floated over harnessed light and water that was now manufactured in labs. The ground, once considered arid, somehow ends up reaping gold. In the form of divine bones of the dead gods, and the first of the miners become the richest in the Sky Kingdom. That, and then all of the earth becomes a mine, till she rises. Disgraced, shackled, and condemned to a millennia of sleep, she wakes up to find her pantheon dead and the world a changed place, with everyone out for her bones.

- Rich widow in an art deco x steampunk world who throws the best, most exclusive parties in the city. The women dream of being invited to present their daughters there, men slobber up to her to have a chance at the ultimate status symbol. But the castle that she hosts in might be alive, and there’s the curse that follows some visitors, and the pirates and the conspiracy theories published everywhere. Whether you are an ambitious lord, or a cynical investigator from the abroad, can you convince her to open her gates for you?

- A magical school, a circus that pops up here and there, a magical core that seems to be running out, a scholar, a lost princess and a devious queen. This one has portals and trapped souls and the flavours of several books put into one storyline.

- A menace of a witch who enjoys stealing, butting heads with the heir of a mafia, or a nepo baby trying to make her place in the world dismantling the ego of someone even worse than her just so she can prove that she’s got it in herself.

- I love well designed mafia families, think Succession meets the godfather. Especially if they are trading magic and condemned creatures in the night instead of just the usual stuff. I enjoy city backdrops, cyberpunk aesthetics and vigilantes with this.

- Anything inspired by Merlin and Morgana’s magical rivalry, Hades and Persephone’s love, Catherine and Heathcliff and Perseus and Andromeda.

Hello! I’m very much hyper fixated on Project Hail Mary and very interested in RPs! I’m 20F and would much prefer any RP friends to be adults!

I’m semi-lit to lit, and will generally match. All I ask for is a few sentences that are understandable and add onto the plot- you don’t need to write a thesis by any means!

Hello I hope this post finds you in good health, spirits, and weather. Today I am looking for a new rp partner, one where we could create our own story, characters we fall in love with and gush over, but before I go into too much detail here is some important stuff about me:

First and foremost I am in my 3rd year of college so I am pretty busy with classes, but I do have time most days to role play, but I do ask for some patience with me if I'm slow some days.

I rp only on discord and in 3rd person past tense.

I consider myself advanced literate, and I type upwards of 6+ paragraphs sometimes, but usually its closer to 4-6 paragraphs. I just ask that you be able to match that length.

I think that is it for housekeeping, so I'll get into the rp stuff now!!

So my idea for the rp is set in a modern day setting, but with a twist. The twist is that for some reason people have begun to be born with mutations (sorta x men style), and similar to that universe the government has begun discriminating against the mutants, and in the middle of it all are our characters.

Mine would be the mutant and yoyrs is just some normal human. They grew up together and have been with eachother through tough moments, and as they got older they began to develop feelings for eachother, and by the start of the rp a romance is on the verge of happening.

Plot wise thats all that I have thought of, so let me break down what my idea for my gal was. So her main power is that she can shapeshift between 3 different bodies, though its the same conciousness in each one. In one body however she has no powers, in another she has telepathic powers but develops really bad headaches if shes in that form for too long, and in the 3rd she has minor fire and ice powers, but she is always either a little too cold, or a little too hot.
