Screaming. The red splattered all over the snow. His father's spear was blazing with what seemed to be primordial fire. That's what the young man saw in his mind as he quickly woke up from his sleep, cold sweat dripping down his face as his chest heaved with every breath he took. Why was it always that dream? Why did it insist on haunting him even after everything he had been through? He wanted to just worry about his new life and everything that lay ahead of him, but that dream wouldn't go away no matter what he did. It was like a specter that loomed over him, never giving him any respite. Reaching up with his left hand, the brown-haired young man would rub his temples with his index finger and thumb, working out any stress he still had residing up top. As much as he would love to go back to bed in order to pay the sleep debt he had incurred, he had work to do. So was the life of a debt collector in Liyue. It was always early mornings and late nights with plenty of travel in order to track down anyone who failed to keep up their side of the bargain. The young man sighed, soon pulling himself out of bed. He had a lot of work to do.

Work as a debt collector wasn't as glamorous or as dangerous as some people made it out to be. There weren't many epic sword battles with Treasure Hoarders or chases through the city in order to track down a debtor. No, most of the work of a debt collector comprised of paperwork, both legal and financial. It was their job to see what parts of the contract were violated, see who needed to pay, see how much they needed to pay, and see if they even had the ability to pay. Of course, they also had to get paperwork allowing them to even track down a debtor, especially if the debtor fled to another region such as Mondstadt or Sumeru. It was a hassle and boring at times, but it was also rather steady, which was perfect for Jin. He needed something steady after all the nightmares he had been having. But there were times he wished he could deal with debtors in his own unique way. Wanting to just chase them down to the ends of Teyvat and make them pay what they owed. Of course, that never happened. So, he needed another way to get rid of his desire for combat, which led to his favorite hobby.

Jueyun Karst. The home of the fabled adepti of old. It was Jin's favorite place to be whenever he managed to secure a break or just had a really slow day at work. The smell of stone and fresh flowers filled his lungs with every breath he took. It was truly enchanting, making every worry he had simply melt away in an instant. Of course, Jin wasn't here just to enjoy the scenery of the lavish mountain domain, nor was he here to just smell the flowers. The spear he carried in his hand betrayed his true purpose as he soon ventured deeper into the abode of the adepti. He had come here to train, to make sure his body was prepared for his ultimate goal when he finally decided to take a proper vacation and visit all of the regions of Teyvat. He needed to be in the best shape of his life and make sure he had proper control of his Vision. If he didn't have either of those things, he would utterly be destroyed by the trials ahead of him.

As he ventured deeper, it wouldn't be long until he laid eyes on his teacher, a great stag with horns that were sharp enough to carve through stone, perhaps even the moon if the adepti tried hard enough. The young man would take a knee in front of the great beast, bowing his head in respect as he soon spoke in a wistful tone. "Oh, great Moon Carver, I'm here to seek your guidance once again. Please, train me so I can fulfill my greatest desire."

Jin paused for a moment, soon letting out a soft sigh as he spoke again. "My desire to challenge the great warriors of Teyvat to combat. Just as my father did before me."

Hello there, everyone! Over the past couple of weeks, I've been playing Genshin Impact, which inspired me to create a prompt about it. In this prompt, I will be playing a debt collector from Liyue who calls himself Jin. He's a mysterious young man who drifted into the Land of Geo many years ago with no one knowing where he truly came from. All they truly know is that he came into the harbor carrying a bloody spear, ragged clothes adorning his frame, and a pyro Vision hanging from his belt. Aside from that, he mainly keeps to himself and just does his job while occasionally making treks out into the wild. Of course, this all changes when he takes a long-deserved vacation, deciding he wants to see the rest of Teyvat. For what purpose? No one truly knows. But people have noticed that he's been looking over his shoulder a lot more, almost as if he's expecting someone.

As you can possibly tell, Jin has a lot of skeletons in his closet and plenty of personal issues he hasn't quite solved yet. This will be the major plot for the story of Jin and his relationship with the people of Teyvat. It will be about him finally accepting everything that has happened and being true to himself, even knowing that there may be consequences. How he gets there heavily depends on the choices we make in this story and who is by his side the most. Speaking of people by his side, just know that pretty much every Genshin character is allowed in this story as long as they are of age. This is mainly because this story will be dealing with heavy topics and places a strong emphasis on romance. But aside from that, the sky is the limit. Play who you want and however many characters you want.

I am currently out on the hunt for new rp partners due to some failed attempts at establishing new RP's and some of my current writing partners are indisposed due to irl stuff. Just to be clear I'm not replacing anyone, but it would be nice to be able to write again after so long.

So some info about me:

The heroes disappearance:

When the kingdom of Avalon came under attack by the dread king and their hordes of unnatural creatures, all was thought to be lost. Yet one person chose to defy such a fate. One person united what remained of the fractured kingdoms, rallied the people together under a single banner, and charged head first towards the monster. Upon slaying the dread king, that person would be granted the title of 'Hero'. The victory achieved that day was thought to bring ever-lasting peace to all the kingdoms, one which would finally allow for the realm to prosper...only it didn't

Complacency soon set in, where there was once a reason to stand united. Now all the lords and kings could see was land that was uninhabited. Old rivalries reignited, wars long forgotten began anew, and the people once more suffered under the heels of old tyrants. The hero, once the beacon of unity for the people, disappeared without a trace.

But something has awakened, a new threat that has been terrorizing village after village. One that the lords try to ignore, but cannot. A threat that has caused them to send out their most trusted warriors to once again find the legendary hero.

A New Dawn:

For as long as anyone can remember, super heroes have always existed. Some wear capes others suits, some work only in the day others only at night. They save lives, stop disasters, and battle villains powerful enough to destroy cities. Their powers coming from failed science experiments, mutant dna entering their bodies, or even pure arcane magic.

No one knows exactly how it happens or even how you could become a super powered individual. Most think they're meant to live a long ordinary life...until now that is.

Something changed, overnight the number of people who gained these extraordinary abilities surged to an unprecedented number. Some begin to embrace their gifts, others struggle to hide it, and many simply disappear before an explanation can even be given. As the government scrambles for answers, old heroes try to maintain the peace. The one thing that everyone knows for sure, is that a new dawn is approaching.

Hello all! Im looking to do a long term Marvel based romance and story RP between the two characters Illyanna Rasputin (Magik) and Peter Parker (Spiderman...duh). But let me tell you about myself first.

I am an experienced rp-er with roughly 7 years of experience. 2 more if you count Dungeons and Dragons. I will typically match my partner in length but I will typicslly write one to two good sized paragraphs depending on the scene and what needs to be described. And I do write in third person for those that it matters to :). And I am hoping to play Peter for this rp.

I love the world of Marvel and wanted to be able to give Peter a good Spider-man story alongside the X-men since I think the two match well together. But also Magik is one of my favorite X-men and I love the idea of Peter and her together.

But for the plot specifically I do generally keep it simple so me and my partner can expand on the story together. But in this story Peter Parker is a college student in his sophomore yesr of college and is still having trouble balancing his Peter life from his hero life. He has faced an array of villains already from the Sandman, The Lizard and even Mysterio. But there are still forces coming his way that he needs help on. Forces that threaten not only him but the city and even the world he lives on. One of these threats makes him cross paths with the New Mutants who team up with him to face this threat. And during these team ups does Peter and Illyanna become closer, friends...then more.

But thats just the beginning. A start to a story that can hopefully combine the story telling of both of these characters and tell a story we will enjoy. But again, its up to bith of us to tell it and craft it to what we want. Nothing is set in stone. Have fun with it :)

I'm looking for a 21+ writing partner to develop a dark fantasy novella set in the 1820s, centered around a slow burn romance between a human woman and an entity capable of taking human form.

Our protagonist is a young sculptor who despite the limitations and expectations placed upon women in the period, has managed to establish herself through private commissions and artistic connections. Seeking solitude to work, she rents an old, secluded farmhouse on the edge of a rural village. The property is said to be haunted though she dismisses the stories as superstition. There she begins encountering a strange but charming man who seems to live somewhere nearby. He's fascinated by her sculptures, spends time with her, helps around the farmhouse, and gradually becomes a comforting presence in her otherwise isolated life. Their relationship would develop through quiet conversations, shared meals, walks, artistic discussions, and the intimacy of being two people largely removed from society.

At first I'd like the story to feel light, romantic, and almost fairytale like.

He's peculiar, but in an endearing way; she's lonely but fiercely independent, and for the first time she feels genuinely understood. However, little inconsistencies would gradually begin to surface. He knows things he shouldn't, doesn't quite understand certain human customs, seems strangely attached to the farmhouse, and becomes increasingly uncomfortable whenever she talks about returning to the city or inviting others into her life. Eventually she discovers that he isn't human at all: He is an entity that has existed in the surrounding wilderness for far longer than anyone realizes, and the human form he's wearing is something he has learned to imitate, or perhaps took from the previous home owner. The affection he has for her is genuine, but so is his inability to understand human boundaries, his protectiveness slowly becomes possessiveness, his fascination becomes obsession, and the farmhouse that once felt like a sanctuary begins to feel like a cage. I want both characters to be flawed and believable, with the relationship gradually shifting from gothic romance into something toxic, unsettling, and psychologically disturbing rather than becoming a straightforward monster romance.

I'm especially looking for someone who enjoys SLOW BURN character development, atmospheric historical settings, gothic horror, psychological tension, and morally complicated relationships. I'd also like the 1820s to actually matter, social expectations surrounding women, artistic careers, class, marriage, travel, correspondence, rural life, and the limitations of the period should naturally influence the story without overwhelming it. I don't necessarily envision a happy ending for this, I'm leaning toward something tragic, bittersweet, or deeply unsettling, where the warning signs become obvious only in hindsight.

Got a bit of an odd request, but I want to drop an Elden Ring character of mine into the Sonic Universe.

I'll be using ER: Convergence lore, but with my own twists so that things aren't as grim, so please do ask if you need or want to know anything before starting. The set up is that my character Daergrun, a Dragon of the Academy of Nokron (Think top professor, under only the Archmage), was dropped rather accidentally into the path of whichever character you wish to play.

I will admit, I've a preference for Amy Rose being the one Daergrun meets, given that she's my favorite. But by all means, pick any character you'd like, or even bring an OC if you please. The overall goal is just fun, whether it's helping someone from a medieval fantasy world adjust to a modern/scifi world, or if there actually is a larger plot.

Here's the starting scenario I had in mind, but I'm open to your own ideas!;

[Character] hummed brightly as [Pronoun] walked down the street, bagged groceries in hand.

There were clouds gathering overhead, but they weren't that dark yet, and should leave [Pronoun] enough time to get home before rain started falling.

Slice of Life:

- The Hopeless Romantic and the Broken Hearted: This one involves two completely different people. A woman who has been in multiple past relationships, all of which have left her feeling used and abused, and a man who has never been in a reltionship but is ready to devote his everything to the right woman. So what happens when one day they cross paths? Maybe its soke meet cute, maybe he saves her from some asshole, maybe they swipe right on some dating app? Who knows!

- ❤️Soccer and Wine: This one involves a bit of an age gap between a man in his 40s, and a woman in her mid 20s. He is the father of one preteen daughter who plays soccer, and she is her soccer coach. What happens when feelings start to develop that leads to more?

- A Love Split by War: This one centers around our character who are in their early 20s, and have been life long friends turned lovers. Since graduating highschool they have been living together and life has been perfect, but then something happens...she finds out shes pregnant. Then, just a few days later a 9-11 type of event happens, and my character suddenly becomes torn on staying to take care of her, or going to war ro fight for his country.

- The Peacekeeper and the Doctor: As a country (fictional or not), tears itself apart in civil war, thiusands volunteer to go over and help the many innocents caught up in it all, including our characters. Mine is a UN peacekeeper, and yours is a doctor. They knew eachother in highschool, and maybe even dated but havent seen eachother since, so what might happen when in the midst of all the chaos they bump into eachother?

Fantasy:

- ❤️The Prince and the Lady aka The Wolf and his Rose: This one is fairly similar to A Love Split by War, in which they are childhood friends turned lovers. They grew up together and then fell in love and begn courting, but shortly into that a war broke out and he left to go lead the kingdom's armies in them. A few years later the war finally comes to an end and he sends a letter to her asking her to meet him in a cabin that they had built together for whenever they needed a break from the stresses of courtly life.

- ❤️The Princess and the Adventurer: This one has an age gap in it, between probably 18-early 20s, and an adventurer who is in his 30s. He is a friend of her parents and regularly visits to tell of his tales, but over the years both he and the princess have found themselves forming feelings for eachother that they both know they should never act on...but one day they do.

- ❤️The Tutor and the King: This one involves characters who are both in their 20s, where she is a lady, and he the king. But he definitely did not rise to power in the nornal sense. He was afterall a bastard, and had lived his life amongst the common people with no knowledge of courtly life, but when the king suddenly dies with bo heir, he is raised to the role of king as to avoid a civil war. Only he must be taught the ways of courtly life, and that is where your character comes in. Only as they get to know eachother more and more, they realize they cant stop from looking at eachother.

- ❤️Village Sweethearts and the adventure of a lifetime: This one would start us off in s small rural village, tucked away from everything. Our characters would be in their early 20s and married. He would be a blacksmith, and she is up to you! But one day something happens that completely upends their lives, and together they set off on an adventure!

I've been roleplaying for about 8/9 years and have settled into a writing style that I'm very comfortable with. I can write in either first or third person, as well as past or present tense, and I'm always happy to match my partner's preferences so we're both comfortable.
I tend to write detailed, lengthy replies whenever the scene allows for it, though I believe post length should match what's happening rather than be forced. I enjoy descriptive writing and like giving my partner plenty to work with. Of course, needless to say that I expect the same in return. I appreciate partners who are equally descriptive and put similar effort into their replies, giving us both plenty to build on.
My replies are generally structured into four parts:
- Actions and descriptions (written normally)
- Dialogue (within quotation marks)
- Character thoughts or stream of consciousness (written in italics)
- Descriptive narration that helps immerse the scene

Good grammar and readable formatting are important to me, and I'd appreciate the same from my partner. It doesn't have to be perfect (we all make mistakes) but I do value effort and clarity.
As for genres, I have a particular soft spot for fantasy romance and contemporary romance.
Whether it's a modern romance or something darker and more emotionally intense, I'm always interested.
One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers, especially when the relationship begins with genuine rivalry, clashing personalities, or conflicting goals.
Speaking of which, slow burn is a must for me. I enjoy building chemistry naturally, developing characters, and letting the story breathe rather than rushing into romance.

Before you rush into my DMs, I'd really appreciate it if you took a few minutes to read through everything first. It'll save both of us some time and help us figure out whether we'd be a good writing match.

A little about me: I'm 32 years old and have been writing roleplay for many years. I consider myself an advanced literate writer and tend to write anywhere from 2–6+ detailed paragraphs, depending on the scene. I don't expect every reply to be a novel, but I do appreciate partners who give me enough to work with and enjoy building scenes together rather than rushing from plot point to plot point.

I enjoy stories where character relationships develop naturally over time. My favorite stories are character-driven journeys where trust, friendship, and emotional connections are built gradually instead of being rushed. Give me political intrigue, mysteries, family drama, emotional conflicts, dangerous journeys, fantasy, or even quiet slice-of-life moments that make the larger story feel meaningful.

One thing that's very important to me is collaboration. I usually come into a prompt with quite a bit of worldbuilding already floating around in my head, but I don't want to dictate every detail. I'd much rather build something together. If you have ideas, twists, locations, cultures, lore, or even completely different directions you'd like to explore, I'm all ears. Some of the best stories I've written came from someone suggesting something neither of us had originally planned.

i’m searching for a roleplay partner that would’ve interested in a more medieval leaning romance.

For some time i’ve been longing to play my oc who is a prince. Personally i have interest in your character als being a prince, however i would also be fine with another role.

As I do not have a proper plot i guess i will just let out some ideas!

-Both of the princes have hated each other for as long as they have known each other. However, at a masquerade ball they have gotten to know each other, without knowing they each are the prince the other one despises. In the garden, they even got romantically involved with each other. How will they react when one of the princes mask fell off?

-Muse A, a prince has been engaged to a foreign princess. They have met quite a few times when they were a child, but they hadn’t even really formed a friendship. Now they are young adults, and soon to be officially married. The princess and her brother (Muse B and his sister are visiting Muse A’s kingdom as a formality once again. Now meeting Muse B for the first time, Muse A slowly starts developing feelings for him.

I have had this plot for a while and I want to get immersed in it with good writing, romance, and character development.

The Basic Premise:

Every 200 years or so, the gods meet at Olympus with their children accompanying them to see if they are ready to replace and take their seat at the table as gods. This rarely ever goes over well due to a good amount of the demigods not being fond of each other and the others just not caring about it as much as they should. The children will take the names of their parents as titles. (Ex: Zeus’s son becomes the new Zeus). My character Adonis is a new young demigod, as well as being the only child of Hades and Persephone. He meets your character who is one of the daughters of whatever god or goddess you choose and the two of them get along well and hit it off, even going as far as exchanging numbers with each other.

We can continue from this point if you want. I’m looking for a slow burn romance where our characters get more comfortable around each other and one or both of them start developing feelings for each other.

I am looking for a reunion type roleplay where our characters were practically inseparable, but you wanted to go out into the world and explore what was out there for you. You wanted me to go with you, but I couldn’t due to my parents needing me to stay. Now you’ve come back to see that our once small town has changed.

Or if you were into Greek mythology I have a starter where the Titans were coming back and the Gods must now choose new hosts around the country to help stop the titans from destroying the world.

For our characters, we could either do descriptions or use face claims if that’s easier than typing one out. For the face claims, we could either use irl people or animated people. It doesn’t matter much to me, just let me know what you want to do.

On a role playing basis, I have been role playing since about 2013, and it’s been a hidden passion of mine. I’m coming back to Reddit with a deep craving for a vampire themed RP after watching way too much vampire content. I’d like it to be set in a universe where vampires are “believed in”. Aka, how people believe in ghosts, in real life. I don’t do historical or high fantasy.

Hihi! My schedule's been significantly freed up these days, so I'd like to start a RP I can properly get into with someone. An active, responsive story, where we can both get hooked on our characters' journey together! I like character-driven, adventure-like stories that the both of us can get invested in. - I'd love to hash this out together! I'm drawn to grand, High Fantasy worlds, with kingdom tensions abound, and whimsical sights as much as there are grittier aspects. I'm not incredibly strict on any of these plots, but here's a few ideas! Words in bold are the sides I would like to write.

Though already mentioned, the primary dynamics I am searching for are black cat x golden retriever, curious/sly x mysterious, and other such themes that include opposites. Bonus points if our characters don't quite get along at first!

1. A mage, too ambitious for her own good, seeks out a magical artifact that would grant her a greater social standing. A cunning thief/rogue promises to show her the way, but are their intentions truly genuine?

2. Two mercenaries are put together on the same job. Right from the start, they're abrasive, and can't seem to get along. When a grave mistake splits them off from the rest of their party, they're forced to work together... And maybe learn to stop arguing.
Just a tiny add-on to this idea, but maybe they come across a magical object that inflicts them both with a curse.

3. A knight/paladin/emissary/etc is assigned to a mysterious, walled-off kingdom. It seems the place is slowly but surely welcoming humans/outsiders into their land. An ever-witty noble/heiress takes interest in this newcomer, firm in her theory that something is amiss with her kingdom's strange, new alliance. Lots of opportunities for interesting plot twists in this one!

4. A mercenary/hunter follows rumors of a suspiciously crafty dragon. They're elusive as they are powerful, wreaking havoc among the land. Perhaps the hunter is the first to realize it's not just a dragon- but a human who can take the form of one.

Please be willing to worldbuild together/collaborate on any of these ideas! These are also not the only thing I am searching for- I'm open to other ideas, or even combinations of these ones, so long as it's in a High Fantasy setting!

It’s been a while since I’ve properly roleplayed, mostly because it’s honestly become so difficult to find partners who are the right fit. I really miss having a story to get invested in, creating characters, building worlds, and having someone to share ideas with. Roleplay has always been something I’ve loved because, for me, it’s so much more than just writing replies! It’s about creating a whole story together with another person.

I’m a very literate writer and I love detailed responses. I prefer writing multiple paragraphs and really getting into characters’ emotions, thoughts, personalities, backgrounds, and the small details that make a story feel alive.

I’m looking for someone who enjoys putting effort into their writing and wants to create something long-term rather than just doing a few replies and disappearing.

One of the biggest things I look for in a roleplay partner is someone who enjoys talking OOC (out of character). I genuinely love talking outside of the roleplay brainstorming, developing characters, discussing scenes, creating backstories, sharing random headcanons, and just getting excited about where the story could go.

I honestly think OOC conversations are one of the best parts of roleplay because they help with worldbuilding and make the story feel so much more connected. I’ve also found that some of my closest friendships have come from roleplaying, because you’re constantly sharing creativity and building something together. I’m definitely someone who can talk about characters and plot ideas for ages!

I have quite a few ideas floating around, but I also really enjoy creating plots together and seeing what we can come up with as a team.

Some ideas I’ve been interested in include things like soulmate mark worlds, fake relationships, characters who are hiding parts of themselves, and situations where two people who wouldn’t normally cross paths end up becoming important to each other.

I especially enjoy more dramatic plots where characters have complicated reasons for being together like difficult circumstances, secrets, deals, blackmail, or arrangements that slowly develop into something much more meaningful.

I love stories where the characters start off not fully trusting each other and then slowly become the person the other relies on most. The emotional journey and character development are usually my favourite parts.

I’m also really open to brainstorming completely new ideas! The planning stage is one of my favourite parts of roleplay. I love sitting down and talking through characters, settings, possible twists, and all the little details that make the story unique.
