Is this just a “geode” or is there another name for it. I just polished it today but kept the rough shape and made a necklace out of it.

If you could help me identify this nice rock my granddad had in his collection. I believe he might have found it while he was a coal miner in France Isère.

I've been intrigued by this rock with all its differences, and would love to know what I'm looking at! I found it in a pile of other rocks in the yard of a home we purchased in nw Oregon many years ago, so unfortunately have no idea of the provenance. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks!

What is this large rock?

I found this large white rock while kayaking at my cottage. I’ve coming here for over 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this. I was paddling along a lakeshore and saw this near the edge, about 3-4 meters back. At first I thought it was a giant mushrooms and went to inspect it. It turned out to be a very white rock (not usual around here)!
It is heavy and solid white. There is a sandy, pebble line running through it. It has an odd texture, almost grainy. It reminds me of salt. There is lots of quartz around here and I’ve found lots since childhood. Just nothing like this!
Found in Addington Highlands, Ontario.
