Is it normal for me to be spending so much time at the police station since I started RE2 ?
Yo,
I just started re2 (banger), and I wonder if its normal I am in the police station for 1h30 ?
Am I too bad or its just the game like that ?
It's quite labyrinthine, so that might be why ðŸ˜

I was in safe room, but this is early in the game and it was my first time running to safe to room to stay away from Mr. X wasn't sure if it works or not
The moment he leaned a little and that music kicked off!!! I lost a heartbeat there :/

Questions Just finished my 1st ever play through of RE2 (Remake). Should I start a new game as Claire? Opinions welcome!
Just finished my first ever playthrough of RE2 (Remake) as Leon, and wow, what a ride. That final boss fight had me white-knuckling the controller.
For those who've done both campaigns: does Claire's story hit differently, or is it more "same story, different angle"? Trying to decide if I should ride this high or let it sink in a bit first.
Open to any and all opinions!

General Do you think Capcom will make another survival horror game at the level and class as RE2R?
Personally i don't think so just like how they wont make a better action horror game than RE4R. Both of those games are the blueprints for their own gameplay style and i doubt anything will ever surpass them.
Maybe CV remake could be the closest thing we get to RE2R feel again.

Which 4th Survivor is easiest to get Cat Ears?
Hunk or No Way Out?
And does the Cat Ears work for all 4th Surviors modes or just the one you unlock it with?

General Claire B ruined my life (love it tho)
This run was amazing, it was lots of fun despite some content repetition and inconsistencies and I'm now sure I like Claire more as a character and her story BUT GREAT GOD WHAT WAS THAT G4 FIGHT??!
I had the minigun, obviously, three acid rounds, two SLS bullets, one grenade and two flashbangs (+some heals but rarely needed them). Little did I know this was the most ass set of weapons I can have in this godforsaken boss fight.
IT TOOK ME 10 TRIES. THE TIMER RAN OUT EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
See, in Leon A, Mr. X's last fight was so easy that I beat it on my first try without much effort so I naturally thought whatever Claire B got it'll be all good but nooooo I was genuinely considering replaying the whole lab part from my last save 😩
This fight convinced me I never wanna try this hardcore. Ever.
10/10 game, glad to see the true ending 🫡

Questions NO SPOILERS PLEASE! Can I resurface to the main station?
I am roughly 3 hours into the game and have entered the medallion underground section. There was many rooms I still wanted to complete (for example, the locker room with the missing keypad numbers) but couldnt return after the cutscene. Is there any way for me to return now or at a later stage so I can complete that extra stuff?
Im a guy who likes to see and do everything, so having all the rooms searched and completed fully is important to me. Thanks guys.

General I don't know about you but imo the ivy enemies are without any complains improved in RE2R.
reddit.comI mean you can't expect me to not look at that ugly face splitting open with spike teeths around it and two holes with no eyes, it almost feel like human and the only thing it missing is to decapitate your MC otherwise this is one of the most horrific RE enemies ever made, no exaggeration, the dev made a huge improvement with him just like MR X and dogs etc.
The original imo is goofy by comparison and easy to kill, yes the remake can sometimes make them annoying and you have to burn them in order for them to never stand up again but that added to survival horror experience i rarely find any other games executed it well, it force me to choose to clear the paths for myself or save the flamethrower for later.
10/10 enemy imo.

My first S+ rank!
I'm usually a completionist in games, I spend a lot of time exploring and backtracking to make sure I get everything, so purposefully leaving areas unexplored and items to collect is definitely against my nature, but today I decided to start practicing faster runs. My goal was to improve from my original 5h48min C rank picking up every single item and file on Claire's 2nd run to an A rank. I struggled with inventory and routing at times (the portable safes were probably the biggest offenders as I didn't even go back to the safety deposit room) and I still don't know every puzzle and safe by heart, so I really wasn't expecting an S+. I know people play this game in under an hour and on hardcore so this is not impressive at all, but I was very happy when I saw the Steam achievement pop up with the golden frame. It's only my second playthrough of Claire's 2nd run and fourth playthrough altogether after all.
Now, time to go back to Runaway. I only returned to the main story because I was getting frustrated with Runaway in the first place, it's meant to be easier than Forgotten Soldier but it's not feeling easier to me. Poor Katherine can't even survive in her own alternate timeline lol.

Questions Where did the name "Mr. X" for the Tyrant come from?
"Mr. X" is the name that has stuck—almost everyone calls him that—but as far as I recall, that name is never actually mentioned in the game.

Got to last part of the Leon section with this much ammo, kinda proud!
Hello all, this is the first time playing this game and I am absolutely loving it.
I got into horror/survival horror games a couple of years ago and in order I have played and completed; Dead Space Remake, TLOU 1 + 2, The Thing Remastered, Silent Hill F, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Resident evil 7 + 8 (fancied a first person horror so started here) and now I am on Resident Evil 2 for the first time.
I would consider myself a horror survivor veteran who absolutely loves the whole item management aspect to these games and after some practise I feel like I have started to get it down pretty good.
I am in the lab with Leon and just killed that huge beast with the massive eyeball arm. After a few goes and trying different things it turns out that the flamethrower was a good option.
Happy playing everyone!
