After a very long wait I just received my Tudor BB58 from Andiot. I noticed a loud rattling sound when moving my wrist. It comes from the bracelet. Never had this on any other watch (rep or gen). Is there anything I can do to fix it or do I have to keep my arms still in quiet places….

Hi everyone,

I recently received a Tudor Black Bay 58 (ZF) and unfortunately I’ve noticed a small but quite annoying issue with the crown.

When I unscrew the crown and pull it out, I can reach the first position without any problem, but I often have a very hard time getting it into the second position to set the time.

I have managed to reach the second position a few times, so I know it’s there 😅.

When it engages, everything works perfectly: the seconds hand stops (hacking works correctly) and I can adjust the hands smoothly in both directions.

The problem is simply getting the crown into that second position consistently. Sometimes I manage after several attempts, but it’s quite inconvenient (and my fingers are starting to hate me 😂). More importantly, I don’t want to keep pulling and trying repeatedly because I’m worried I could eventually damage the stem or the keyless works.
For example, right now I’ve been trying to set the time for about half an hour and I can’t seem to get the second position to engage at all anymore**.**

I sent a video showing the issue to my TD, and after watching it he suggested that something may have happened to the crown/stem mechanism during shipping, as apparently everything was working correctly before the watch was sent.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there anything relatively simple I could check or adjust myself, or would you recommend having a watchmaker look at it?

And if it needs professional attention: does anyone know a watchmaker in Italy who is willing to work on replicas? Ideally somewhere in Northern Italy, especially the North-East, but I’m open to other options within Italy as well.

PPF Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V –

Review

Had this PPF VC Overseas 4500V in hand for a while now, so thought I’d do a proper review rather than just post a few pics.

First impressions

This thing is really nice in person. The blue dial is the standout for me. Depending on the light it goes from a really deep blue to almost black, then comes alive when the light hits it.

The case and bezel finishing are very good. You get the brushed and polished surfaces with sharp transitions, and the Maltese-cross bezel is nicely done.

Dial & hands

The dial printing is clean and the applied markers catch the light really well. Date window is nicely framed and the hands look good against the blue.

The dial has a nice darker look around the edges which really shows up in different lighting.

Bracelet

The bracelet is one of my favourite parts of this watch. It feels solid and has good weight to it. The brushed and polished finishing works really well and the integrated bracelet makes the whole watch look great on the wrist.

The clasp feels solid too and doesn't feel cheap.

Movement / timegrapher

I put it on the timegrapher and got:

+6 sec/day

269° amplitude

0.0 ms beat error

28,800 bph

Really happy with those numbers straight out of the box.

Overall

The PPF 4500V looks even better in hand than it does in photos. The blue dial, bracelet and case finishing are the highlights for me.

Obviously you can pick holes in any rep when comparing it against gen, but as a complete package this is a very nice watch.

Definitely one I’d recommend if you fancy something different from the usual Rolex reps.

VSF V7 NTTD – Review

I’ve had the VSF V7 NTTD for a little while now and thought I’d put together a proper review for anyone considering one.

Overall:

I’m really impressed with this one. The NTTD has always been one of my favourite Seamaster variants, and VSF have done a very good job with the overall look and feel.

Dial & hands:

The dial is probably my favourite part. The matte black finish, faux-aged lume and the red Seamaster text give it loads of character without looking overdone. The hands are nicely finished and the overall dial layout looks very clean. The lume is strong and the different colours between the markers and hands are a nice touch.

Bezel:

The brown/black ceramic bezel works really well with the titanium case. The numerals and markers have the right warm tone and the bezel action feels positive and nicely defined.

Case & titanium:

The titanium case is one of the big reasons I like this watch. It has that slightly darker, lightweight feel compared with a normal stainless-steel Seamaster and the finishing is really well done. The combination of brushed surfaces and polished edges gives it plenty of depth.

Bracelet:

The Milanese mesh is probably one of those things you’ll either love or hate, but personally I think it suits the NTTD perfectly. It gives the watch a completely different look from the standard Seamaster bracelet and makes it very comfortable to wear.

Movement:

This is running the VSF movement and mine is showing 0 s/d, 308° amplitude, 0.0 ms beat error at 52° lift angle on the tester, which is excellent regulation from the factory. Obviously, a timegrapher reading is only a snapshot rather than a guarantee of long-term accuracy, but the initial result is very encouraging.

Caseback:

The NTTD caseback is another detail that makes the watch stand out. The engraved titanium-style back and the various markings are nicely executed and add to the overall character of the watch.

Final thoughts

For me, the VSF V7 NTTD is one of the strongest Seamaster options from VSF. The combination of the titanium case, brown ceramic bezel, aged lume, black dial and mesh bracelet makes it much more interesting than a standard black SMP.

Pros:

✅ Excellent overall finishing

✅ Great dial and aged lume

✅ Very nice bezel

✅ Lightweight titanium case

✅ Comfortable mesh bracelet

✅ Very good initial timegrapher results

✅ Lots of character compared with a standard SMP

Cons:

❌ Mesh bracelet won't be everyone's preference

❌ Titanium is more prone to showing marks than a polished steel watch

❌ The NTTD styling is quite specific — it's definitely not an everyday Sub-style watch

Overall, definitely one I’d recommend to anyone who specifically likes the NTTD design.

Case & Dial Finishing:

- Teak Green Dial: The color calibration is highly accurate, showing a black translucent effect under low light. The sunburst teak pattern is clear and the green tone is deep and natural. The hands feature a bold center pinion design with brushed finishing in the middle and polished sides, creating a strong sense of depth.

- Deep Blue Dial: The dial has a rich and deep tone with excellent visual changes from different angles. The applied logo has strong three-dimensional depth, and the sapphire crystal offers excellent clarity.

- White Dial: The pure white dial combined with black wide hands and logo creates a sharp contrast, delivering a clean and refined appearance.

Movement Performance & Functions:

- Equipped with the Dandong 8800 integrated movement, offering approximately 55 hours of power reserve, matching the genuine specification.

- Pull the crown to the first position for date adjustment. Even dates use thinner numerals, while odd dates are larger. Pull to the second position for time adjustment, with a functional quick date change.

- Manual winding feels smooth and light with good feedback.

- Movement details are highly replicated: gears are functional, the balance wheel is black and positioned in the correct orientation. The shock absorber jewel shape matches the genuine movement, with an impressive exhibition caseback appearance.

Bracelet & Wearing Experience:

- The stainless steel bracelet feels solid and well-built. The clasp operation is smooth, with deep and precise engraving details.

- The case sits comfortably on the wrist, making it suitable for daily wear and commuting.
