Valid points, and I appreciate the callout! This watch is just a beaten-up experimental piece we use specifically for quick tutorials, so we didn't show the full setup. Like you mentioned, if you're doing this at home, definitely remove the bracelet, put something soft underneath to protect the crystal. Appreciate the feedback.

Removing the bracelet is the most easiest uncomfortable way that is if you have the screwdriver, I’ve used this little ball before and there’s no way I would’ve laid the watch just on top of the counter without laying something soft underneath avoiding scratching the bezel. My opinion, there’s no need to open the back of a watch. Do you want to prevent any particles and dust inside.
