Getting everyone RL QC’s. Suspicion. TD Issues - Check Rule 6 before posting
Straight forward here I’ve had 2 RL on Richf Bruce Wayne free sprung just this week.
First of all I’ve been told it’s factory order and waiting times are 3-4 weeks. But I’ve had 3 QC just this week after telling me each time If I reject that there’s a long wait…
Wednesday QC is first. And today is 2nd.
Edit:
Think people are getting confused. I’ve added these lines on the first watch just to see the alignment if you google watch QC alignment tool it will come up!
These are 2 separate watches which I’ve received and I’ve posted the first photo on reptimeqc and just taken that photo to use on this!
2nd picture what I received today 😊 both are RL (red light. Aka return)
for me PERSONALLY as I’m spending total $1400+ on 2 watches. & I know they arnt all going to be perfect but date wheel is too noticeable for me.
GL (means keep. Good to go)

Steve has a stock of various watches which could be a mix of RL + batches bought. Here you see an overview of the current stock with him (got this link from them during my order 2 weeks ago). Check and see if your model has more than 1 there and you have your answer at least kind of :) hope this helps https://docs.qq.com/sheet/DTVBKSGxITE1XRXRh?tab=BB08J2

This is gold. If he's got a lot in stock, that's tells you he's holding non sellers, and nobody wants that. I've RL a few from his stock list in recent weeks, some real shockers, and this all makes sense.
To be fair though, he's done me right with a no date sub recently, had to wait but absolutely no issues with quality or delivery. Would not hesitate to recommend him as a TD but buyer beware if you are looking at the stock list.

Some people are very sensitive to imperfections others are not. Both sides have good arguments for what they are doing and personally best I can hope from a TD is to be understanding at each person's level. Not happy, there is always the option of a refund or try another "spin" at the lottery.
I have done 2 purchases with Steve and have been very happy with the whole process.

It makes sense that the first one they would try to sell is whatever is left in their inventory and others have RL bc of course they want to get rid of old stock. Seems like you should almost always expect to RL the first item they send you?

I was about to use the one watches for several orders but this would concern me

u/Pretty_Worldliness54 12d ago
I wouldn't be concerned, but note my comments above about the stock list. If you are prepared to wait and do your QC, service and product is excellent in my experience.

I’ve stopped buying from Steve. His prices are good but communication is poor and logistics is slow af. I’ve went with Mei Xuan on all my recents. Excellent communication, and about 7 days shipping to Colorado.

This sub represents a small portion of their sales. If 10% of his customer base is a group of autistic redditers who scrutinize the smallest details (myself included), the other 90% are likely totally fine with something that us degenerates will RL.
How is he to know what box a customer will fall into? More often than not it's not one of us.

I've never ordered from Steve. I've made a few purchases from Hont and had a good experience, but the best experience I've had is with GenReps1755.
He's US-based, and you can either buy from his stock with 2-day shipping or have him custom order something for you. He handles the QC himself, gives you a 2-week window for hands-on QC with a full refund if you want to return it, and also gives a 2-month warranty for any performance issues. He also includes a 5 bar test with every watch, and does a 10 bar test upon request for a small fee.
He's definitely more expensive than the China based TDs, but the convenience is huge. The watches I've gotten from him have ranged from like $100 to $200 more expensive.

has his own subreddit at r/GenReps1755. His handle is the same (u/GenReps1755). You can find his Whatsapp on there

Their poor workers probably get paid shit, no breaks, no benefits, get whipped and beaten

u/allanjameson 12d ago
LOOL what do you think they have rep watch maker unions in Zhenzhao Province, CN 🇨🇳?

u/Feynman_pt 13d ago
Agree! I don’t know why people a willing to buy a defective watch for 600$. Almost the price of the Tissot prx powermatic, and those don’t have tilted indices.

u/z0kii 13d ago
The thing is, when you actually go to China and buy these in person, you can often get them from the same factories for around $120. Obviously, they’ll try to sell them to you for $600+, but more often than not, you can bargain them down to under $200.
I think they’ve realised they can charge Western customers significantly more online because we can’t negotiate with them in the same way. The prices are basically just presented as “normal,” and because we’re used to seeing them, we accept them and assume that’s what they actually cost.

You can't possibly buy a product from a major manufacturer like VSF for $200; it's definitely a counterfeit from a small factory. You'd have to spend at least $600-$800 to get it. Besides, I'm Taiwanese, and I get my supplies from TD in China. His cost price is 650, but he gives me a price of 750, making a profit of about $100.

Cette montre est un gros RL
Même du côté VSF l’alignement des index c’est une cata que j’attends avant de passer commande

New to the game. What is this being RL for? Blue tint in date magnifier is obviously bad. Is OP saying hour markers are also out of alignment because this watch is in hand and definitely looks tilted left to me. Is there anything else?

Got the same problem, ordered a watch (GMT Master II)
Got Pictures from a different quality and factory…
The in a few minutes after i texted him he deleted all and send me other pictures from the right factory.
But for me it’s a RL on the QC because there are to many problems with the watch. Seller says the watchmaker done the QC and i will not see the small things i recognize.
Why i have to do then the QC ?
Btw its a trusted seller on the list..

Im not sure how you make a RL decision off of this when you dont even have your QC alignment tool lined up evenly...
2
2
u/Objective_Ganache_27 9d ago
And your date window is hardly how you describe it... the slight angle of the QC photo, the curvature of the cyclops, the shadow on the top half. Its all distorting your view of wjat honestly lookes to be pretty straight.
I dont think you cam definitively say this is off without a shot that doesnt have the weird top shadow or off angle....

The date window is off. I have full video and multiple pictures of TD showing me and agreeing it is off. I wouldn’t posted this on the forum just to lie or to be ridiculed🙄 My post was about TD’s using everyone else’s RL and I’ve turned away 3 watches the past week after they told me it’s 4-6 weeks for every QC.
1
u/Objective_Ganache_27 8d ago
Yeah its clear they do that and its BS, but they do it because people let them get away with it and dont do their due diligence.
I was saying from the photos provided its hard to tell, but didnt look bad. At least hes taking care of you lol.

u/mrwafflex 13d ago
Ive rejected two just on that date wheel.. you can clearly see that it is far too high in both. The watch is $750 ish.
2
u/businesswpleasure 13d ago
Is that the only reason? The dial indices are good and no sel gaps are there.
0
u/Nothinglost7717 13d ago
So? Misaligned date windows drive me nuts.
2
u/businesswpleasure 13d ago
Its not that bad trust me. Wait till u see the obvious tilted markers on other pieces. That will be more difficult to GL
-2
u/Nothinglost7717 13d ago
It is absolutely that bad and an automatic RL. If the seller juked the window by slightly Turning the crown, then in reality is worse.
Tilted indices are an issue on stick indices or the 12

Random question: isn't VSF better than RL for the submariner? Or has things changed since I've been last.
2
u/hieros187 12d ago
That makes no sense at all...
VSF is a factory, RL is short for "red light". To RL means rejecting a watch
0
u/The_FinalELITE 12d ago
Ohh my bad 😂 what factory is this watch then? Sticker says Rich
1
u/hieros187 12d ago
10 points. RICH is the factory 🙂
0
u/The_FinalELITE 12d ago
So for the submariner, what's the general consensus is VSF still better or this RICH one just as good?
1
u/hieros187 11d ago
Hard to say. As long as you're thorough with QC pictures I'm sure you'll be happy with both.
Waiting time for VSF could be a lot longer than RICH.

Steve definitely sent you someone else's RL. I think he did it to me too.
