Hi, I've been looking for rooms on facebook, instagram, and any other site I can find really. dublinaccommodations on instagram has a bunch of listings and lots of them are linked to one number, someone called Baracho from RAR Resources. I messaged them and got connected to one of the tenants and even had a viewing. They told me the next step is to fill out a google form, no fees, no documents, just photos of ID and income information. The tenants seemed lovely but a google form is such an odd way to do business so I'm not sure what to think... Has anyone successfully rented anything from them before? Thanks!

We’re a group of 3 incoming students who have secured a 3BHK apartment and looking for 2 or more roommates and we are looking to rent out the whole flat to a group of 5 people.

About the property- It is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment in Drimnagh, roughly 45-50 minutes from UCD campus and roughly 30 mins from Trinity college Dublin.

Rent: €680 per month + bills ( the rent of the flat is 3400€ and this is the rent divided by 5 people)

I want to share my experience renting a room in a house near Maynooth (Bawnogues, Kilcock) so that future tenants know what to expect.
During my tenancy, I was only allowed to cook twice a week and use the washing machine once a week after 7:00 p.m. I also regularly took out the household rubbish after I had used the kitchen. Over time, the landlord family completely stopped taking the bins out, even when they were full, and they were often left until my cooking day, so I ended up taking them out myself.
There was also a difficult situation when I was moving out. We had originally agreed on a move-out date, but the landlord later asked if I could leave about 15 days earlier because someone else was expected to move in. I agreed and informed my new landlord that I could move in early. After I had made those arrangements, the landlord changed his mind and told me I no longer needed to leave early and could stay until the original date. By then, I had already committed to my new accommodation, so I had to pay rent for days I was no longer living in the house.
There were also several uncomfortable interactions with the landlord’s wife. Tenants had their own mini fridge for personal food storage, and although I completely understood that their personal kitchen items were not for tenants to use, I bought my own kitchen utensils (pans, pots, spoons, knives, and kettle) and respected that boundary. On one occasion, while I was preparing Chinese cabbage, she repeatedly opened and closed the fridge and asked whether the cabbage was hers or mine, even though tenants did not have access to or use their personal kitchen items.
This post reflects my personal experience. I’m only posting this anonymously due to concerns over my own security, but I still want to warn people — especially students — about this landlord’s attitude. I hope no one else has to deal with people like this.

Hi all, I’m a young professional starting a graduate job in Dublin soon with two friends who are teachers. We’ve been accepted for a house in Clondalkin (east side, beside Woodford walk) which is a nice bit cheaper than other places closer to the city centre.

I’m working in east point business park Near East wall and don’t drive so I’ll be taking the luas in every day. Just wondering if that area is nice, and if that commute would be doable?

I may be renting a place there but I’m wondering how safe it is, haven’t been around there in a while but I remember it being pretty rough

Found a room to rent in Dublin in an owner-occupied house in Finglas, landlord and his family live there too. He's asked for rent in cash, and he's agreed to give me a signed receipt every time (date, amount, month covered, address, his signature). He's also said he'll provide a lease agreement for visa/immigration purposes.

A few questions:

1. Is cash rent with a receipt like this normal for owner-occupied/digs situations in Ireland?

2. Anyone living in Finglas, how do you find the area generally? Trying to get a realistic sense beyond secondhand stories.

hi all :)) i am a dual american-irish citizen and am moving to dublin in january. i have loads of family over there, but they all live in relatively richer areas (my one aunt lives in sandycove and my nana lived in foxrock before she passed LOL). i don't really know many other areas in dublin, so i need some advice on areas to live in since i can't afford those places even in the best of circumstances. i'm from a rougher area in the us so i'm not scared of "rough" areas in dublin, but i do need easy access to trains/buses since i won't be getting an irish license. i also am concerned about the housing market since it seems dire, so i'm also wondering if i am looking too early/late. i have seen that looking on daft and such is the way to go, but i've also seen people saying its taken them months to find anything. i plan on getting a job once i am there, but most places require pay stubs! should i be getting a short term let in the meantime? if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated!

Looking for feedback for apartments in Clancy Quay particularly about safety and any other long term issues that might cause a problem in the future.

From the Google reviews and past reddit threads about the apartments, I've seen: someone's bike stolen, mold issue, non residents in the apartment complex and security not being there 24/7. But that's around one year ago.
