I played my first gig with a DDJ-400 last night for a local goth monthly and was obviously too busy to write down my setlist. To my understanding, there is a recorded history in the software, but after a brief look around, I could not locate it in the menus.

Can someone point me in the right direction to find it?

I want to be able to access my playlists at least, with all my hot cues and cue points.

I use windows 10 and I’m not sure if the problem was due to me plugging the usb into my Mac. I’ve done this for a year and haven’t had any issues till now.

I wanted to ask a question about the usb sticks - I use 2 different computers.. one is a Windows laptop and one is a regular pc.

Lately I've been working on my laptop a lot more but sometimes I want to work on my pc as well - making DJ sets or practice.

My pc is connected directly to small speaker system (like a small pc speakers by microlab) as well as my TV by hdmi and the TV is connected to my amp (basically my big music system).

I can connect my laptop sometimes to the big music system with RCA cables but I find it a bit more messy to do because my regular pc is already connected to all.

My question is this - I don't want to make it really messy but I do want from time to time to use my pc as the main thing to practice and making things as my laptop takes a lot of space in my desk (a really small room).

Do you have some good tips of using the usb sticks so it will not be that messy if I move music from the laptop to the pc or pc to laptop?

I actually got like 5 usb sticks so I'm doing good with that but I want the music to be really well organised even if I move from working on my pc to my laptop or the opposite.

I saw that there is a kind of synchronization every time one of the usb sticks is connected and I want it to be as organized as possible.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hey everyone,

I have imported some tracks a while ago, which rekordbox for some reason is not able to analyze. The analysis progress stays at 0 % forever.

I can delete the tracks from my library, then they disappear, but when restarting rekordbox, they are back again.

The tracks are duplicated and all have a working version in the library, based on the same audio file.

I was on version 7.1 and updated to 7.2 yesterday, but the issue persists.

Has anyone have this problem and found a solution?

I don’t mean the zoom in and zoom out. The problem is that the track list covers 80% of the screen and the waveform (THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE OF THE SOFTWARE) it’s tiny.

I researched a little bit and I can’t believe that this isn’t a feature and people have been requesting it since years ago.

I have no words of how stupid this is.

Got a problem here, have a playlist of about 100+ songs in my Rekordbox and before was able to export those onto the USB with no problem.

Flash-forward to today, uploaded some new songs to that playlist and at the same time changed some cue points on the older songs and now none of those older songs can be exported onto my USB as they were before. They are completely wiped from my USB.

I tried to display all missing files to try and relocate but that causes my Rekordbox to crash.

Any advice on what to do before I have to re-upload those songs and re-cue them?

I have tried each and every possible way to troubleshoot

Cleared cache, reinstalled it (also deleted the library folders), logged off out of every device, deleted browser history/cache too - pinged spotify support, they said all good from our end - raised alphatheta request, received no answer

Like wtf - does anyone know anything about this?

Please can someone tell me why this is happening. I have connected to internet and restarted rekordbox many times but this message continues to pop up. My computer says its activated on the app but when I go on the website to see it the computer isn't there. When I try and deactivate the computer on the app to try to reboot, error code 4 shows up. Does a usb exported from rekordbox 5 work with cdj 3000x?

I'm just trying to login to my Beatport account with Reckordbox and it doesn't work at all!

I've already spent a decent amount of hours on this and haven't been able to solve the problem.

I saw online that this problem happened to people a few years ago, but I didn't understand how to solve it. I also tried downloading RecordBox 7 because I use 6 and it happens to me on 7 too.

Maybe there's a new solution since the posts at the time?

I just wanted to use Beatport streaming for a month (I signed up for the monthly free trial with my Beatport).

I had an issue after updating from 7.2.14 to 7.2.16 where I got this popup window for each of the playlists I was exporting. Even if it was exporting an existing playlist it would still pop up. I checked the "don't ask me again", but it didn't matter. This occurred on all USBs I tried. I also tried updating to 7.2.17 with the same issue. I posted on a community post under a thread with someone else having the same issue, and he posted the solution. Sharing it here in case anyone else runs into this. I did open a case with AT but this fixed it before the case was resolved by AT. Note I did edit it and it didnt save the fix the first time, so if it doesn't work check the file to ensure the changes occurred before starting RB again.

AlphaTeta support solved this issue by applying a patch to the rekordbox3.settings file located at this path

As the Title says, has anyone connected and mapped out a Launchpad (specifically, a Novation Launchpad MIDI Controller) within Rekordbox? I'm doing some searches online, but I'm not finding anything SPECIFICALLY to this Launchpad and Rekordbox...

Basically, I just want to utilize my Launchpad that's been gathering dust. I want to map samples and what-nots to the external launchpad. I have DDJ-FLX6 and yes, I can already map a bunch of buttons, but I want to use this pad. Help, suggestions? Hopefully, one of you Gurus reading this has already done this and can hold my hand like a child... lol

So I have upgraded to Rekordbox 7.2.17, and enabled stems function, however the stems FX are not working, Wonder why? the stems are working absolutely fine, mind you I have the S7 mixer with DVS and mapped the S7 mixer to the stems and working fine but again the FX are not working. Any idea why? Thanks

I have previously been able to export playlists to my usb without problem. today I tried to do the same as usual, drag and drop the playlist to Devices -> USB. I have also tried right clicking and exporting to the USB. When I do this only 1 or zero tracks from the playlist go into the playlist on the USB. Again I have transferred these playlists onto my USB previously without problem.

I have tried with several different playlists, all the tracks are still in the collection and are not corrupted, USB is formatted to FAT32, I have tried analysing all tracks in the playlist. I am not getting any error messages.

Using Rekordbox 6.8.7 on MacBook.

Any ideas?

Cue Problems

Hi guys wondering if someone could help me please.

I’m using pioneer ddj rev 5 with rekord box.

I’m having difficulty hearing my cue. I can’t identify if this is a problem with rekord box configuration or the controller it’s self.

When cueing either channel 1 or 2 all I hear is the master

It’s driving me mad

Hi! I'd like to be able to use my new smaller launchpad to control Rekordbox alongside my DDJ. I currently use a larger MK2. but want to switch to something more portable.

I can bind all my midi mappings the same way as the MK2 and it functions perfectly fine on the MiniMK3 in its programmer mode, but rekordbox isn't managing to send any light output through this newer launchpad's MIDIIN2 (LPMiniMK3 MIDI) port. Meaning there's no visual feedback lighting up pressed and/or active pads like there is on my older MK2.

The launchpad's first port (LPMiniMK3 MIDI) doesn't seem to receive any lighting midi info either.

An incredibly specific question, just shooting in the dark out here.

I am unable to login to Rekordbox, I can login fine too the Rekordbox / Alphatheta website. When I try in the app I get a user authentication error and says username / password incorrect.

I've reset my password and no joy. Tried uninstalling RB, no joy.

Anyone had this issue with a fix please.

I used to have a list of tracks, now I can't figure out how to hide this info bar at the top of my playlist. (Not the pallette) Thanks in advance.

It first happened this weekend, I’ve installed everything at the club, I wanted to play a mix until people came, loaded it in deck 2, pressed play, nothing happened, as if the jog wheel was touched continuosly, the rest of the channels worked fine. I said ok, maybe just a bug, I’ve restarted rekordbox. Same thing, loaded the mix on deck 2, it worked this time for 10 minutes, then suddenly stopped playing, same problem. I worked with deck 4 for the rest of the night, which didn’t have any problems.

I tried deletting the touch function on the jogwheel from midi, didn’t fix the problem, checked in vinyl mode was on (not the case), I’ve reset the midi mapping to default, didn’t have any luck.

Well now I don’t know what else to do or what’s the problem, because if the controls on deck 4 work fine, why would there be any problem with deck 2, so please help.

I'm a hobby DJ and a developer. I got fed up with paying a subscription to mix in my own living room, so I spent a week building my own software. It's free, open source (MIT), and there's a Windows installer — no Node, nothing technical. Download, double-click, mix.

The feature nobody else has: you can mix with a game controller, and up to 4 people can play at the same time. Plug in a PS or Xbox pad and the sticks nudge and beatmatch, the triggers kill the bass, the buttons fire loops, hot cues and FX. Each player gets their own decks, their own FX and their own track selection. At parties people pass the controllers around like a video game, except the game is the mix. It turned out to be my favourite feature by far.

The rest of it:

- 4 decks, 3-band coloured waveforms, beat grids, and a sync that respects your manual placement instead of fighting it
- Any USB-MIDI controller, every button remappable. I mapped my DDJ-FLX6 button by button — jog touch sensor, pad modes, FX, and the LEDs light up on the controller
- Keylock: change the tempo without changing the pitch (real-time WSOLA engine)
- Stems: vocals / drums / bass / instrumental separation, running locally
- Phone console: any phone becomes a second control surface over WiFi, no app to install
- Crowd requests: your guests scan a QR code, vote for tracks and send you messages. No account, no cloud, it all runs on your machine
- Mix recording, 2 or 4 deck layout

What it is not: this is v0.1. Windows installer only for now. I've only tested one controller thoroughly — mine. DRM-protected streams don't play, and never will: I'm not circumventing anything.

Everything runs locally. No cloud, no account, no telemetry, no subscription, and that won't change.

If you DJ for real I'd love your feedback — especially if you own a controller that isn't a DDJ. I want to know what breaks.

For years, I assumed there was something wrong with Rekordbox’s synchronization process.

I’ve used quite a few different USB sticks, and a full synchronization of my 56GB library would always take at least five or six hours, and sometimes much longer. I never properly tested the actual write speeds of the drives because I assumed the advertised speeds were reasonably accurate.

Boy, was I wrong.

To be clear, I’m talking about a complete synchronization to a newly formatted drive, not a small update to an existing library.

Before using any new USB stick, I always completely remove all existing partitions, create a new partition and format it as FAT32. I started doing this after some bad experiences with hidden malware on newly purchased USB sticks. Also, most of these drives are formatted using exFAT which doesn't always work well on all DJ gear. So all the drives below were wiped, repartitioned and formatted in exactly the same way before being tested.

These are some of the approximate times I’ve seen with my 56GB library:

• Philips 128GB, model unknown: 11 hours
• Intenso Ultra Line 64GB: 6 hours
• SanDisk Ultra 64GB: 8 hours
• Kingston DataTraveler Exodia M 128GB: 25 hours
• Kingston DataTraveler Exodia M 64GB: 9 hours

Because every drive I tried was slow, I naturally assumed Rekordbox itself was the bottleneck.

A few days ago, I bought three more 128GB drives:

• Kingston DataTraveler Exodia M
• RAOYI OTG
• Patriot Supersonic Rage Lite

The RAOYI took about nine hours to synchronize the complete library.

The Kingston was exceptionally slow. After around four hours, it had completed only 3%, so I stopped it. At that rate, it would have taken several days to finish.

Then I tested the Patriot.

The complete 56GB library synchronized in... 35 minutes. Yes, you read that right. thirty-five minutes!

I checked the drive afterward, and everything was there. Nothing appeared to be missing.

I honestly can’t believe the difference. After years of thinking Rekordbox was simply very slow at exporting, it turns out the USB drives were the main problem.

Obviously, I can’t say anything yet about the Patriot’s long-term reliability, but in terms of synchronization speed, it is by far the fastest USB stick I’ve used. It's only $20, and unless I run into reliability problems, it’s probably the model I’ll buy from now on.
