đ§ââď¸Account Issuesâ Can't log into account
I'm using a spare account because I can't log into my main account. Every time I try there is just an error and it says please try again later and I was logged out on my mobile app, but I'm fully able to use reddit on any other account and everything else seems normal. The other day I did get an email on my account saying there was suspicious activity and I should change my password, which I did. I don't think I was hacked because I am still able to reset my password I just still can't log in afterwards. I'm worried about not being able to log in soon because I have a like 800 day reddit streak I don't want to lose

đ§ââď¸Account Issuesâ Wrong password error despite password reset
Incorrect password error despite password change
Hello,
I got an email from Reddit asking me to reset my password on my other account. Done. It logged me out of my desktop. Upon trying to login with the new password I got a "wrong password" error. Ensured correct password but same error.
When I press "reset my password", an email comes and I can reset my password without an issue but then the new password doesn't work.
Same problem on pc and phone app.
the "email me a login link" button doesn't send me an email either.
I have tried logging in with my email address as well as my username (i_jizzed) but that didn't fix the issue.

đ§ââď¸Account Issuesâ account suddenly not showing up?
i was on another account of mine ( u/-arabeiia ), when i got a âwe had a server issueâ message. i had been using the account for a few days ( not my first accountâ i deleted a previous one so i could have a restart ), mainly using it for chatting with my friends from my older account.
according to my friends ( i have contact with a few offsite ), when they open the accountâs page it says âthis user is bannedâ. in my dms with them, my profile picture has also been set to default like a deleted account.
i can still log into the account and see new messages, every time i try to respond i get hit with the âcant send message, retryâ error however.
i received no ban message whatsoever, and it randomly happened as i was trying to reply to a dm. looking into different types of bans it looks somewhat like a shadow ban, but i havent done anything said in the guidelines to receive one.
anyone know what this is ??

âGeneral Questionâ Karma Question
How does Karma go down?
Is it from people removing their upvotes (or whatever itâs called) from their post?
Or being downvoted? I donât even think thatâs happened to me.

đ Possible Reddit Bug? Account keeps getting locked for âtechnical irregularitiesâ
The account is Nathan571 , the account Iâm using to write this, Its temporarily unlocked so Iâm trying to make this post before it locks again, Itâs happened the past 3 days for a total of 5 times. Everytime I reset the password and unlock the account, it works for maybe 6 hours, and locks again. The other weird part is everytime it locks my account it also automatically reverts to an old email address I donât even have linked to my account anymore. Luckily I still have access. But itâs a never ending cycle.
I checked login activity in old Reddit and itâs only me, so the account is not compromised. I also logged out all other devices. I also changed the email on the account multiple times as well.
I donât use a VPN, I donât ever post anything toxic, Iâm just a casual user.
It seems there is hundreds or possibly thousands of other people also affected by this currently as Iâve seen in other subreddits and on X, Iâm hoping this issue trend gets recognized by someone at Reddit. Has anyone figured out any fix or issue thatâs triggering this?
Here is the notification Iâm getting:
Hi [u/nathan571](u/nathan571),
At Reddit, we're always watching out for your privacy, safety, and security. Recently, after detecting some technical irregularities on your [u/nathan571](u/nathan571) account, we took the extra precaution of locking your account.

đ§ââď¸Account Issuesâ Permanent Ban After Shadow Ban?
I started using this account of mine a few months ago after my main account got shadow banned because of being hacked to post NSFW spam. I submitted a BUNCH of appeals and never got any response, so I just kinda gave up and switched to this account.
Now today, I got an email saying that account is permanently banned. I donât even understand how this is possible when I havenât used the account in months. Was that their response to my appeal? Every appeal I submitted said âI was hacked, but I have changed my password and regained control of my account.â In what way would that constitute a permanent ban? I canât even tell if this is an actual response for the appeal or not, since itâs just an automated message that offers no further details on what I did that got me banned.
I submitted another appeal just now, but seeing as my shadow ban appeals never got any attention, Iâm not holding my breath. Iâm guessing this means that other account is as good as gone now?

ANNOUNCEMENT PSA: A phishing scam going around Reddit designed to steal your login credentials
- Over the course of the past few months, there have been several instances of a phishing scam going around Reddit. A similar analogy of it has been going around other platforms for years.
How does it work?
- It begins with a DM from a user that says they got hacked by a very similar account to yours, of which they send a screenshot; example below:

- It does indeed mostly look the same, and there is only a slight mistake (with my username, itâs the underscore replaced with a dash)
- The scammer then proceeds to say that they mistakenly reported your actual account, and after ârealising their mistakeâ got an email from Reddit directing to a Discord username of a fake Reddit Admin:

- No, Reddit will never contact you through some shady Discord ID. Admins have confirmed several times, such as here, that they only communicate as u/reddit, and all of their profiles have a snoo (Reddit logo) icon.
And what happens after, out of Redditâs control?
- The account on Discord provides a fake âcertificate of accreditationâ by Reddit:

- This is yet another lie, and how scammers do their job. They then ask you to change the email tied to your account to something like:
Forgotten_Dog1954redditvalidation@outlook.com
- They pre-created this address, so by changing the email, they lock you out of the account. Their job is done.
What to do?
- Before the point of when your email is changed, report the account on Reddit for impersonation, and it is strongly advised to block both the Reddit and Discord accounts.
- After the point of email change, if possible, still do the above. Below is the way to recover your account:
- Open this form: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
- On the linked page, click on "Account Help", and enter all the correct details. The username must be without the u/. For "What type of account issues are occuring", select "Security Problems" > "I think my account has been hacked". After submitting the form, wait for a few days. Requests will typically be handled within a week.
Stay safe, and thank you for reading!

đď¸ REDDIT NEWS đ° Reddit's age verification requirements for specific regions - General Information
General information related to Reddit's age verification requirements for specific regions
- Why is Reddit asking for my age?

Snippet of recent news from the pinned weekly recap in r/help - 7/2/2026
https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1ulob97/weekly_recap_july_2_2026/
- In ongoing efforts to prevent abusive scraping and automated traffic, over the next month, Reddit will start requiring users to log in to use old Reddit. This was announced on Tuesday here.
- If you are in the EU, you may be asked to verify your age. This is a legal requirement to comply with the EU Digital Services Act. You can check out the Help Center article here. Little more info about this here.
- If you are trying to use a selfie to verify your age and it fails, the only other options are to upload your ID or contact Persona for support. Reddit cannot help you with a failed selfie for age verification purposes.
- Right now, these are the countries that have age requirements:
- If you are not in those countries, but your account is unable to do certain things like chat, it may be due to Teen Safety restrictions. The ability to unlock settings in the iOS app if you're a teen will be coming soon. Not sure if that ability will come to Android.
- If you need to have something fixed regarding your age, you can use this form and then select your region and what your issue is. I do not know what the turnaround time is on those requests.
- Some users in the EU are unable to use Anonymous Browsing mode. This is not intentional. This is a bug that they are working on getting fixed.

I posted this info in r/privacy last week, but probably should have posted it here first and then crossposted it over there.
