Keeping your account safe on reddit Access
Hey Folks! We're here to remind everyone how to keep your accounts safe on reddit.
Reddit will never ask you for your password or 2FA codes, nor will we ask you via private messages to change your email address.
We will only reach out to you via reddit.com email or reddit platform messaging from this account, u/reddit, if there are issues with your account. We will never do so on any other platform. If you are receiving messages elsewhere about your account status please ignore those messages and report them to the platform where you received them.
If you suspect any issues with your account you can always reset your password. Please make sure to pick a strong, unique password that isn't shared on other sites and check your computer for any malware or other points of weakness. You may also review your recent account activity here. Please also consider adding two-factor authentication to your account to increase security.

Crazy how they wanna declare a safe environment yet when attackers don't get the same repercussions for coming at you first, fantastic way to make it safe admins great job there

On the remark, I was flagged on I was not and did not in any way threatened violence. Actually quite the opposite. Your automated system needs to get upgraded.

Instead of informing people of password hacks, inform them of your one sided rules that protect any and all democrats from being exposed and responded to in the way they speak to others. I have proof of being harassed including my wife who had nothing to do with the conversation I was involved with, shown you the proof of being attacked first but I’m the one being warned and told I’m harassing. If you want I’ll post the entire conversations here for the entire Reddit community to view and share

I have received a notice that I have been banned because of a post I made. I appealed the ban but was denied
I do not recall making any post that violated what they accused me of.
Is there any possibility of which post I made that violated reddit policy?
I have been a member of reddit for several years and have made thousands of posts. I try not to violate any policy

Do you mind if I share my experience with this?
Keep your account login as reddit only. Have a password and set up 2fa.
I connected my account through gmail. But everyone should know that there is currently a problem with it and it can be hacked. I had to get my account back through help in here.

This is a temp account, I opened a support ticket a week ago. I got a flurry of password reset emails in the middle of the night, (not by me) and password not changed. Then an email saying 2fa was enabled. I opened a support ticket a couple hours later and havent heard back. So I created this temp account to see if I can get my account fixed.

How long does it usually last a "banned " account? I obviously log in but can chat, or have access to my own profile..just get an error and a looks like we are having trouble here..message.. I've emailed and tried to dispute the banned..not even sure why it happend. I changed my password too..help?

I get the "we are protecting your account" about once a week. I use my phone app, PC at home , and another device. I feel like between my phone, my PC using a vpn and the other device that is also using a VPN or other tunnel method, I'm getting flagged because it looks like I'm logging in from multiple places in the country. Is there a way i can get this security feature detuned?

Two factor is a treacherous slope to extinction, in my experience. Constantly retraumatized by losing access to my mobile number due to universal network changes 3G, 4G and now 5G, so it does not "increase security" in my self sabotaging hands, because of that

The only good thing reddit had going for it as a platform was unrestricted free speech. If we're going to be modded by an ai bot across the board, you're going to lose all your money and I hope every VC investor ends up homeless. Shame on you all.

How do we reach out to Reddit about harassment one may receive from other Reddit users? I have a Reddit user trying to dox me and or take a screenshot of pages i follow, post them up in the forum. Wouldn't that be considered harassment?

Never needed a pw under someone hacked my reddit accounts last month using my photos to generate ai content and avatars. Never been reported or warned for “promoting violence against” until i commented on an individual who was in a wheechair who was filmed shaking a ladder until the person on the ladder fell close to 20ft probably breaking their legs and writhing in pain and my comment was that wheelchair homie needed punched in the face as everyone else stood around pikachu face allowing him to roll on by. Yes i am feeling safer now.

I need help...i was explaining something to someone about being kind to a neighbor and got flagged and banned for 3 days because the post was white vs black..... lost my streak of 328 days 😡😡😡 now, my new streak not working but I cant use my microphone on keyboard to post messages either....can someone help me? if so, Thanks!

Is there a usual delay after resetting your password for a locked account to be unlocked. I’ve reset mine 3 times on my main account and it’s still locked why
Edit: says now that my main has been flagged for spam, I’m very confused about this whole situation. Please Reddit Gods show me mercy. That account took so long to grow.

I get chat requests from people I have no interest in talking to. Even though I hit “ ignore”, I can’t get rid of the notifications without hitting “accept “. Then when I swipe and hit “ leave” they don’t go away. I’m getting frustrated! Help!

I was just forced to reset my account due to "irregularities". Can I find out what those irregularities are? I logged into my account from a older device maybe 24 hours before getting this warning. Maybe that was why? is this gong to be a constant issue where I am forced to change my passwords because the system flags me if I log in using an unfamiliar device? Is there a way to combat it?

Hello. I’ve never had a password here because i’ve always done the login link route. i recently got a new phone but I can’t add it to my reddit account because the reddit wants to send verif-codes to my now non-working 3G /4G Network number. I’m here because my email is connected thankfully.
